Is there a way to force the device to use a different PLMN? Maybe via chameleon (like on Samsung devices via ##omadm...need the engineering password though) or some other method?
-
really weird that my Note 9 can not connect to any b26 sites...my moto z2 force can, at least according to cell mapper logs. I went to ruffin and balboa, and forced the note 9 to b26, and just got a ril emm error, same everywhere else where b26 is...too bad. maybe they aren't completely open yet?
-
I have uploaded some b26 data to cell mapper... If you filter for b26 you can see some sites now

B26 5x5. It's an empty site on a Sunday in a business district. Max 5x5 is 37Mbps.
Where was this site? Can you name the landmark it location? Was this in clairemont or further south?

MB not completing setup, is typically indicative of maintenance on the towers. give it a few days.

Fanuel and Beryl is the closest intersection
There is a new B41 small cell near there, Law and Gresham, it's not online yet but should be soon.

Indeed in the Pacific Beach/ La Jolla area, there are many sites which have slow backhaul and or B25 only... Some in places where b41 would really benefit... Lots of small cells popping up in San Diego though, many coming online everyday. T mobile is terrible for me all over San Diego, Sprint generally shines for me where I travel in town.

Makes sense, though I only get great reception in one area of the attic, in this spot my UE note 9 reliably always pulls 200+ on B41...
The MB3 Gold @ -95db, 19+ SINR unreliably pushes 90mbps max. And it needs a reboot multiple times a day, with speeds fluctuating down to 4mbps...still working with IBS to resolve these issues, so far they have pushed some new firmware, has fixed some other issues...
Just wondering what others are seeing in real life usage on this new model

What's the top speed people are seeing using a magic box gold gen 3?
My handset can pull 200+ from the tower, but the magic box (in the same exact spot) can only relay up to about 80 to 90...
-
There's actually 2 firmwares in the unit...the top number starting with 15.x is the UE relay firmware that downloads from the network when the box connects to the tower...the bottom number starting with 60.x is the firmware on the box itself for the UI, networking wifi and Linux OS....let's report both when sharing

I have 15.16.00.533
Do you have 2 ca? I only can get only one b41 carrier when the tower it relays from does 2 ca
Sent from my SM-N960U1 using Tapatalk
How can you tell if the box has CA to the tower?
-
What firmware version are MB3 users seeing? We had issues with our MB3 and had to get the IBS Dept involved to push a fix to the tower and new firmware to the unit...0.5mbps before and now 100+...

It is broken. Known issue.
Fix TBD.
thanks for the info! one other thing, the press release says 3CA, is that only from the tower or does it broadcast 3CA to the UE as well?

Is the wifi or Ethernet backhaul working for anyone?
-
Very exiting...the latest note 9 Android 9.0 beta (see xda for the news and links) has volte working by default (presumably enabled after I enabled wifi calling???)... I can make AND receive calls while using data!!! Couldn't do that on Oreo 8.1...anyone else try it out yet????
