I created an account just to add to the confusion with nTelos and Sprint LTE.
Since last Monday my wife and I have been experiencing horrible reliability and speeds with Sprint in the Stoney Point area of Charlottesville.
I called Sprint to see what's up. We've been dropping to 1x mostly and poor 3g when it isn't just gone. The rep I spoke to claimed this is due to tower upgrades. She claimed the upgrade was for LTE.
I've lurked this forum for a bit so I tried hard to throw some curves. I asked about nTelos and she wouldn't say a word. I asked repeatedly if she was sure it was an LTE upgrade. She insisted it was and the information was being supplied by whatever screen she was using.
Now I told her I believed there were troubles with nTelos...she insisted.
I asked her if she was 100% certain. I had heard rumor after rumor in regards to LTE coming to Charlottesville. She insisted.
Now in town, 3g is quick. Not super great but good enough. I struggle to believe our area would be first. Open Signal shows nothing being reported.
My wife turns LTE on and her phone is unusable for anything but phone calls. Mine actually improves a little over 3g/2g setting.
There you have it. All I know. I'm guessing the reality is tower work but not 4g. I know the nearest tower is 5(?) Miles away. I haven't time to try and track it down.
Of course I'll post IF hell freezes over and LTE makes an appearance.
