    It's Separating Employee Retention Offer, a special plan offered to employees when they leave the company. Several years ago, it was possible to sign up for SERO without ever having been an employee, which is probably why so many people have it.

    I've wondered what SERO was an acronym for ever since I joined S4GRU almost two years ago. Thanks for clarifying.

    I'm not sure why, but I haven't experienced an HD call in weeks. Over the winter I would notice it on almost every call I made to other Sprint subscribers. I'm thinking it might have to do with the new PRL changing the priority of 1x800 or even activating WiFi calling (which I disabled 2 weeks ago). Anyone else having a similar issue?

    99.9% guarantee they just turned off the Clear B41 sectors and let the Nokia equipment take over.

    The reason I asked was that the Clear B41 originally in the area was extremely fringe throughout the parks when I was there.

     

    If the Nokia equipment is in the same place or marginally closer than the Clear antennas, then what was reported appears to be very impressive performance, comparatively speaking.

    How much LTE capacity does each carrier have currently deployed in the Chicagoland area? I know Sprint has a total of 15 MHz FDD ( 2 5x5 PCS, 1 5x5 SMR) and 40 MHz TDD ( 2 20MHz BRS/EBS) in some areas. How about the others?

    Bottom line, it's pretty broken. -100 to -120 dBm is not all 1 bar in my book. When comparing networks, the lay person would certainly assume that sprint's coverage is weaksauce.

    I do not make many critical posts on S4GRU, but this has been a Sprint "pet peeve" of mine for quite some time.

     

    I honestly don't understand how Sprint hasn't realized the potential ROI that would result from fixing this unacceptable signal level configuration defect on these phones.

     

    From an "average customer" perspective, if I would see one single bar on my phone the bulk of the time, I would most certainly assume the network my device is connected to is inadequate right off the bat.

     

    Of course as time goes on and usability is prevalent on these impacted devices, impressions may change for those sticking it out. However, customers trying out the network on these devices or looking at such devices in store or from their friends/family likely will get a negative impression of Sprint at first glance. Why not get that corrected to stop the bleeding from resulting negative perceptions, especially on some of the "hottest devices" from Samsung (and apparently HTC)?!?

     

    Hell, if this was AT&T having this issue (who claims to have the "strongest LTE signal") you better believe this bug would get squashed as fast as you can say Death Star.

     

    Come on Sprint, you can do better than this!

    It has been working Ok for me as far as I can tell. Do you see the HD symbol when in a call when it doesn't work?

    Do you have an Android? I don't think iPhones differentiate between HD voice and non HD voice calls in the log, so I can't really tell unless I hear it on the call.

    I will agree that this thread seems like it is one of the more active topics here on S4GRU. It really may be because there's more a knowledge gap about T-Mobile's network among the membership than there is about the Sprint network. Not nessicary a bad thing, just an observation.

    CAn't wait until they get b41 at disney. And yeh...when I go to unviversal its all airplane mode and wifi. There is no point in having my cellular data on.

    I still don't understand why Sprint hasn't given Universal more attention. For the last 4 years data usability has pretty much been horrible there!

     

    What has always irked me is that there are only 2 NV towers within a mile or so of the resort in addition to the Clearwire site across Kirkman which barely reaches inside the parks. Seems like the site spacing around there was designed without the existence of Universal in mind.

    Is anybody experience a voice and SMS outage right now? I am in Northwest IN. LTE is working fine.

    There is no loss of 1x or EVDO signal.

    Yeah same here, my family and I went out for dinner for my birthday and my sister couldn't get through to any of us. Luckily iMessage is working though
