  1. Well, you're not an Honored Premier sponsor.

But if you're AJ, you make witty cultural references -- it's what you do.

    Maybe you missed that part.

    ;)

It doesn't take me 15MB down to save on my data use...

  2. If you're an S4GRU Honored Premier sponsor, you count down the final days of WiMAX -- that's what you do.

Oh no, I'm enjoying all the free data on my FreedomPOP Evo4G, a nice hotsport app and 15MB down. Using it till the end.

  3. I have an unlimited data plan (2 lines for $100 / same on Sprint) and I noticed in the Bay Area that T-Mobile is getting worse in terms of providing a good image. I also noticed that if you do an image search via Google, it takes much longer now until the image is clear. On Sprint I have not seen it and B41 seems to grow every day. Sites that were Clearwire before have now been reflaged to Sprint.

  4. Was in Vegas this week staying at MGM. Saw a lot of band 25 & 41. Convention center at MGM I think has a DAS as I had strong signal there. Casino has decent band 25 coverage but did see 3G several times.

The network at the convention center was great, B41 all the way and speeds were great. The Sands convention center needs support of LTE and my guess the hotel wasn't upgraded much either. I had a solid signal on the -3rd level parking garage but mostly 3G. Casino was LTE but in some areas, more at the back of the convention center, you got at best 3G. LTE speeds were also not very impressive. Again, LVCC showed major improvement but could use a bit more capacity too!

  5. This is why Hesse wanted to buy metro PCS. Had he gotten his way Sprint would be spectrum rich in the 1900mhz frequency in the whole tri state Area.

If one day they decommission Evdo CDMA their network would be:

    120mhz(band 41) +15x15 1900mhz +5x5 1900mhz (G block) and 5x5 800mhz. However I think 5G would happen before that.

What band will Sprint use for 5G in the future? Will they deploy a dual solution on B41?

  6. I was driving a couple of days on CA-87 in the Downtown San Jose area and my good old Evo4G got 12MB down and 1.5MB up during heavy traffic. I'm still enjoying WiMax as long the system is on air and FreedomPOP is unable to meter WiMax data. Thank you Sprint, this reminds me the good old days of a BoostBerry!

  7. I like it better when the coverage map has closer colors. Like how project Fi coverage looks a lot better than sprints

I actually think Clear did a real nice job with their coverage map and the color scheme on Sprint's map is less as perfect. People who are color blind can't even get the different networks etc.

  8. So let me get this straight, I don't have to turn in my phone. Okay. so no contracts on T-Mobile? So why don't I activate a Boost Line, get the number assigned but no credit refill. Bring that number to T-Mobile, let them pay me $200 for coming to them and cancel next day? Repeat? Profit?

  9. If this situation comes again in February, there are several arguments that can be made from the Sprint point of view:

Would a judge rule that Apple has to continue to support the first iPhone? No, it is old technology and it is not economically feasible to continue to support.

Would a judge rule that Microsoft has to continue support of Windows 95?  No, there is better Operating Systems that will make the process much easier (at times it is frustrating though).

Would a judge rule that Ford needs regress the safety standards of new vehicles to the standards of vehicles built in the 1970's?  No, Safety standards in 2015 are leaps and bounds ahead of 40 years ago.

The same common sense thought process needs to apply to WiMax.  Are there people still using it? (as in all the examples listed above and WiMax).  Yes.  Has the improvement in technology with LTE made or making a better experience for all with Sprint?  Yes.  Should Sprint be forced to continue to support something that is old technology, I still have to say no.  You need to keep up with the times.

Technology is not the problem its usage. WiMax offered unlimited & unthrottled service for MC/MB customers and they like to keep it because they claim that their agreement allows them the best service available for their customers.

  10. WiMax is still running nicely in my area but I noticed that FreedomPOP is not able to see the data being used, so essential it's FREE!.

I wish Sprint would have created a program for Clear brand customers to continue their service on LTE, limiting the speeds for a fixed monthly price.

  11. Darn, Guess I'll have to wait a few before vendors start pulling that clear equipment down.

So far I've been in 3 cities in my state, never seen Clear 41.. Always Sprint 41 But I guess that'll do.

It's like Las Vegas were Clear never provided B41 service and Sprint runs them all. WiMax is still alive for 88 more days before we see the antennas being pulled and replaced,
