  1. Congrats on coming across it in Lancaster.  I can tell you that there are a few deployed B41 towers in Lancaster that have been accepted for 8T8R equipment, but no-one has confirmed if they are broadcasting.  Can you pull down the tower info once you connect and let us know which ones you found it on?  I don't think I can give out any additional information from the Premier Section without violating the rules, sorry.  If Robert is all right with me giving out the general vicinity (no specific tower info) with which to look for the B41 8T8R towers to check I would gladly give it to you to go check if you were interested.

This is everything I got, some decent speeds too even on b26. I can now confirm that this is a tower near the HACC lancaster campus as I only get the signal when I'm there, it drops off to b26 fairly quickly once I get off the campus but hopefully that will change in the next few months.

  2. To my knowledge, they will begin installing the B41 antennas this year. Nobody on here has seen any yet though. Also, Lancaster is in the Philly market. York is Shentel. If I recall, I believe the dividing line is the Susquehanna River.

Yep that's true, once I pass the river, I hit b26 instantly for shentel market, I was just surprised to see b41 out here in lancaster, now obviously since I'm not a paying person on the forums, I'm not allowed to know the details, but I can do my own testing since I know where the towers are. But that's great news, I hope the rest of pa gets covered in b41, but I just hope it's optimized because it really got bad in baltimore or at least since the last time I went there

I'll try to, when I went back to the area I couldn't get it to connect again, it was very brief. So I'll have to be more thorough when I get a chance to go back. And no worries, I just wish we could put it out for the whole community instead of just a paying few, because as we just saw, anyone can spot these towers. But I will say though, it really looks like they're optimizing b26 very well around here, almost in the lower 90s when I connect to it just like ehrpd, and the hand off has gotten way better, rarely do I drop down to 3g, it stays between 1900 and 800, just wish that magical 2.5ghz would turn on around my house instead of near school

  4. Well guys, some very exciting news!!!!!! Lancaster has some b41!!!!!!!!! Now I couldn't really do a test because I was driving and mapping some areas, but when I glanced down and saw this, I just had to take a screen shot. Man this makes me excited....GO SPRINT!!!!!!! This was near the HACC lancaster campus if anyone was interested. I'm going to go back over there and do a little bit of testing and I am using a nexus 6.

  5. There was an investors conference SHEN participated in earlier this year where they discussed B41. I want to say they have ~150 sites they plan to deploy it on and will begin ~May of this year. They stated all sites which were getting the upgrades would have new backhaul provisioned by the end of January, so that should all be in place by now.

I really hope this happens, and with shentels speed, b41 should be up and running before the end of this year!!! Come oooonnnnnn Shentel!!!!!!

  6. I'm confident Shentel will make significant improvements this year. I'm just hoping they don't just "call it a day" when they get B41 up and running in the cities. I guess time will tell. I would guess Harrisburg will probably see B41 first since it's the largest city in the market. It also has Clear wimax service but I don't know if that equipment can be used as dual mode or not. I remember reading that some equipment can do dual mode and others can't. I'm not sure which kind Harrisburg has installed.

York actually has a lot of clear service, wimax (4g) launched there very earlier when the evo 4g launched, I was hoping they would work their first compared to everywhere else

  7. Pretty consistently around 6-8 up and down during peak times. Usable, but much slower than it had been. I was consistently getting 14-23 down as of about 4-6 months ago.

I can agree, when lte first launched I was seeing up to 30Mbps, then it went down to below the teens, when b26 launched, back up to the high twenties, now sometimes I get 8 at best as well, sometimes lower, it's really saddening

  8. I just recently got a 2nd smart phone (work). They are both Sprint tri-band phones (Note 4 & S4T). I noticed about 10 minutes ago that my Note was on B26 and my S4T was on B25. I ran speed tests back to back and B25 was right around 6.5mbps up and down and B26 was at around 7.2 up and down. It appears Shentel has done pretty well with load balancing, at least on the tower closest to me. I've also been noticing a lot more changing of bands as I travel around where I live. It's nice to see the network really work as it's intended.

There hasn't been much "talk" in here lately which is probably a good sign. I hope Shentel keeps up the good work (at least on their wireless side of things).

I think everyone is just waiting for b41 at this point. I've checked the root metrics for most of the area and.....well....it's not pretty

  9. Well I don't know what Lancaster is considered in all this...but there's 800mhz all around, but my phone would rather stay on 1900mhz, but it does switch from time to time. It's nothing like when I visit york and stay on 800mhz though. I just wish b41 was here sooner, but my recent trip to Baltimore made me kind of sad because I wasn't really getting fast speeds anymore compared to when spark first launched there.

  10. Phone collectors!! I can I join that group? LOL!!!! I do that same thing, I swear I have well over 10 cell phones.

Phone collecting is great, I have one of every OS released on sprint and a few of the "rare" phones like the dual screened kyocera echo and the first full touch screen blackberry, good old 8350

As was posted above, Lancaster is not Shentel, but I can tell you almost all Shentel sites now have an 800 MHz LTE and voice carrier.

Has anyone noticing the lack of eHRPD in the Shentel market noticed slower data performance? This would only be noticeable during the transition from EV-DO to LTE. Read the following for more information:

I'm already fully aware it's not, and if you read a couple posts back, I've already stated that as well about eHRPD

  12. I think I've seen EVDO on a few occasions as well. Not sure why it happens.

Your boss is correct too. Lancaster is Sprint, York is Shentel.

well i guess now I get to see the difference between corporate land and shentel each week to see who can upgrade faster, lol, and what blows my mind, even after moving, I still live right next to a sprint tower :D so I'll really be able to tell when upgrades are happening

  13. Last night, I made a new topic in the Premier Sponsor section for discussion of B26 and B41 sightings and information specifically for the Shentel Market. The link included below will only work for Premier Sponsors.

If you're a Premier Sponsor, head over to check it out. If you aren't, consider a donation to get to Premier level. The information on B26 and B41 is worth the donation.

I feel like everyone should get the info since we all contribute without compensation :/, but if B41 pops up, everyone will know
