Sprint Marketing Releases a 4G LTE City List where work is under way
in The Wall
A group blog by The Wall Editors in General
I'm always amazed how many of you think that deploying in each market is an equal proposition. Some markets can deploy faster than others, some have backhaul that will take longer than others. There are many more factors than Sprint just picking winners and losers when it comes to markets.
Some of us do understand, the average customer probably doesn't, and honestly the majority of us probably don't care. What we do know is that we have 4G devices but no signal, this is why we get frustrated and why many switch or consider switching carriers. We use the internet (and sites like this) to vent.

There's a riot in Engadget. They keep complaining about San Diego/Phoenix/etc not being on the list. I thought this bit of news was good. 100+ cities in the coming months? awesome even though my city isn't there xD
It is great news but Phoenix has been waiting for 4G for 2+ years. The majority of people don't know about the technicalities that Sprint has to go through to get 4G here, they just know that there's no signal. For this reason they get frustrated and we can't really blame them.

If that is the GSIII then which carriers are getting it in June?
I've seen a few websites that said it's coming to the US in June...

IDK about its embedded battery. Sometimes my EVO 3D will become unresponsive and holding down the power button doesn't do anything, I have to take the battery out. How will that work on the EVO LTE?

Nice, hopefully we see some sites completed by the end of the year. Here in Tempe I was getting download speeds of about 20kbps for the past few months but all this week I've been averging about 200kbps. Today though I'm getting about 600kbps and upload speeds of about 300kbps, one of the very few times my download speeds are higher than my upload speeds. Things are looking good right now

Is 4G LTE Connectivity pointless when capped or throttled?
in The Wall
A group blog by The Wall Editors in General
4G LTE on capped data plans is as pointless and Sprint's slower-than-dial-up speeds with no caps, IMO.
It wouldn't surprise me if Sprint did away with its "truly unlimited" plans once their speeds catch up to the rest of the carriers. I'm guessing they'll probably give us bigger caps than the other guys though, maybe 5GBs a month?

So you're no longer having any text message problems?
No, never had the problem again.

I've had one for almost a year now. When I first activated my EVO 3D I couldn't send or receive text messages, I called Sprint support and they weren't able to help. As soon as I walked out of the Airave's range the problem went away and fortunately it never came back. Other than that and the occasional reboot I've never had any problems with it.

Agreed. Many people are claiming they're switching to Verizon or T-Mobile. If I was out of contract right now I would switch but I have to wait until December, this is probably a good thing for me since there will most likely be some development on NV in the Phoenix area by then.
