you dont need root to install if you installed ioroot, navigate to the folder, plug phone in with debugging enabled and type adb devices. if your device is listed, unplug phone, drop the update file in the ioroot folder, then power phone off power phone back on by holding the volume down, and then hold power button down. once the lg logo comes up release the vol down and then push it back down again. it will say loading recovery mode. when in that, down arrow to adb sideload. tap the power button on that then plug phone into computer, and open cmd, navigate to ioroot type adb sideload update.zip (i renamed my file update.zip to make typing easier) it will update the phone. dont be scared, dont root just to update thats dumb. if i bricked your phone im not responsible, abd sideload a stock file is almost impossible to brick tho

well, the icons annoying, the additional LTE working next to the icon robs me of notification bar space, which is already extremely sparse on the factory ROM, (why the hell did they decide NFC needed its own icon ill never know) but seriously, i have signal bars, a spinning icon, AND the LTE! why oh why.. also, it seems my phones connectivity is less than stellar. today i found myself staring at an idle symbol (greyed not spinning) while trying to pulla webpage up in an area where my coverage was decent before(flipping into airplane mode and back out gave me instant 4g likely band 25). also i found myself falling back to 3g more often, when previously i would have been on a slower 4g connection. Im not rolling back just yet, but i am going to be keeping an eye on it. my typical day keeps me in band 25 99% of the time, and watching the 4g info screen i was only on band 41 for a split second on a commute (and transfer speeds were abysmal) so in my case it might be more bad than good to stay on this update

stop your crying and sideload. (this is after reading what 6 or 7 pages of it) by the way, i registered just so i could help you out in getting your phone updated. i TOT back to stock from 4.4.2, on the base, what was that ZV7, then took OTA which came immediatly for ZV8, and at that point (BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE) i booted to stock recovery, and adb sideload the ZVA zip off xda. USE ADB SIDELOAD. IT WORKS GREAT AND WAS VERY EASY. within 10 minutes of being 100% restore to stock via TOT i had it back up on ZVA. before you ask, NO ROOT NO MODS NO HACKS/SCRIPTS and so far-not a fan. i am contemplating rolling back to ZV8 until we get spark rollout in our area.
