  1. Moving forward from this on a national scale. Does Sprint stop selling uniband devices and only sell triband or do they stick with a mix for cost effective units for the customer? I'm due for an upgrade now. I want a triband device with an extsd slot and removable battery. I've been reading up but wondered if any of you could weigh in. Especially any rootrd users. I want a highly developed handset thats easy to manage and root. Has to have extsd and removable battery or its a deal buster. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  2. I've not had any heat issues using data on wifi or network. Get a random hard reboot once or twice a week. No problems otherwise tho. Icons by Big DX. They come in many colors. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  3. Minimalist. Keep it in it's place. Old school. Newer isn't always better, or faster. Rooted. Android would be so dull without rooting. I can make my phone one off. No one else has one that looks exactly like mine. Plus I can run CyanogenMod and stay up to date with the new versions of Android. "L" on an S3 anyone? B-) Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  4. I use CM11 so I can flip my phone upside down. Helps signal a ton, without having to go sideways or break my neck trying to see the screen. All hail 180 degree rotation! Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  5. I always forget most people here are stock. Im on 4.1.2 bootloader so I do what I want. Stock is bad, mmmkay? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  6. Modems are can be changed. iPhones are terrible forever. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  7. Well that settles that. Thanks for the explanation. I've loved the S3 but I agree, if KNOX is standard and Sammys lockin down the bootloaders, I'll be moving to another OEM. Damn Google moving to get rid of external sd and sealing up the battery. Those are two huge points for me. I may be stuck on this phone forever. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  8. Sprint announced in March LTE will be largely completed by the end of June in Denver. Hold yer britches! Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  9. I don't have any issues with it. I been using it since December and it's been solid almost all of the time. It's way faster too. Main issue is the Camera. It's buggy still and likes to crash so I use Camera Zoom FX and Google Camera. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  10. I use CM11. I flashed just the ND8 modem and had moderate connection issues until I updated my PRL. Was on 25017 with MK3 modem. Updated to 25018 and all is well. Picking up 4G in places I didn't before. Super smooth transitions to and from 3/4G. My bro has an S4 single band and hes on 55018. They'll deknox ND8. If my reading was correct, they may already have, but if not it will happen. The S3 still has a lot of great people working on it. I don't think I'll be going back to TW tho so I don't have to worry. CM is where it's at. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  11. Its nearly identical to stock 4.3. They changed a few icon colors. Still big, ugly TW. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks Narf. 25018 did the trick. No more shotty data! This forum is a mess in Tapatalk. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  13. Can anyone in Denver on a stock S3 with the KitKat update post what PRL its using? I updated my S3 to the ND8 modem on CM11 and service is shotty. Need to know if I need to update my 25017 prl. I know this is off topic but I dunno any other forum I can find an S3 Denver specific prl. Sorry. On topic, quick hit of single band at Mineral Light Rail tonight! So excited for the end of June. Sprint better not have made me a false promise! Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  14. My understanding is Sammy is behind the updates. So likely. A two year old flagship getting the current version of Android from OEM is unheard of. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  15. Just got LTE between 88th and Federal and 84th on my S3. Got a quick hit last night south of 92nd but nothing like this. It was solid. Tried to get a test on it but it dropped to eHRPD after 84th. It's coming quick! Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  16. Sprint announced in early March HD Voice will be ready/live nationwide end of this month. I'm assuming HD voice is 1x800? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  17. US Cellular? Really? 104th and Marion....... Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  18. :BREAKING NEWS: Sprint Rep says LTE has been live in Denver since 1890. Urges you to upgrade your phone now to get it. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  19. This is on a Saturday at Countyline and University or University and 470. Confirmed Sprint. On the side of a building even. Neat. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  20. Buy Signal Check Pro. Are you on the triband S4 or the original? If it's original you only get Band 25. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  21. He said March 6th and that we should be sending St Paddys Day selfies on 4G. They were working on the tower at 470 on the northside of Chatfield today again. Coverage at my house has been dismal to excellent in the last week. Curiously I was in Highlands Ranch this weekend and kept picking up 1x800 from Lakewood. I live really close to Lakewood and never pick up 1x800 here. Out of alignment panel maybe? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  22. Take it to Sprint and see, or root and flash original firmware. If there is any other way, which is doubtful, it would be in the forum and threads for your device at XDA. If you're already rooted try to find the radio and see if it changed. Did the update only enable Spark or did it update your Android version as well? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  23. In general 1xRTT is usually about the strength of an eHRPD connection. It was probably consolidation. Stock is silly. And terribly slow. Long live root! Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  24. Dreaming of the day I can stream music, or update an app over 3mb. This coma has lasted far too long! I used to get EVDO 3G at my house exclusively. Now I'm getting eHRPD, which blows away EVDO. Is it safe to assume I have been upgraded to eSCHB or whatever? Too many abbreviations! Is this the upgraded 3G that was coming along with the LTE? Just out of curiosity, how many of you run rooted phones? I do and the Sprint Techs really don't know much about phones. I had to switch my service between my two S3s. The one I'm switching to has no ROM on it because I usually run CyanogenMod which leaves no way to update the PRL on the phone. I asked to use the WIFI at the store to download a stock rom variant so I could fully switch over. He asked me to leave. He was also baffled there was no software on the device. So I'm stuck on a phone with a malfunctioning power button. Anyway sorry for OT rant. Edit..... Speaking of CM11, I just went to that forum from here and found this post which I thought would be possibly helpful here. At the very least interesting. See how custom AOSP Based Roms can affect your network connectivity... Sprint APN name for LTE and eHRPD by default on CM10 & CM11 is n.ispsn with that I have no connection. I must change it to r.ispsn which matches what I have on touchwiz. Lastly there is a MMS APN which has the authentication method set to PAP or CHAP comparing it to touchwiz I can't find where MMS must authenticate with the network. Setting MMS, LTE and eHRPD authentication to NONE, transitioning from eHRPD to LTE and vice versa is quicker, leaving it on the default setting I could be in a LTE coverage area and the phone would just drop all data connections until it re-authenticate with the network. At times the phone struggles to maintain connection, not due to network issue. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  25. I need storage space that's not vulnerable to a factory reset. That's a legitimate need for an SD card. I also store offline maps. These who really needs an SD card people are almost as bad as iPhone fan boys. The day they stop offering removable batteries and sd slots I will by the best and last version that did and never upgrade again. 128gb microsd in the pipes soon! Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
