I was'nt able to upload pics from my Speedtest results for some reason. Here they are manually:16.43 Mbps down and 7.29 Mbps up.

I just mapped a bunch of streets using Sensorly yesterday around the Waterman Ave and Marshall Blvd areas of San Bernardino
and have noticed a strong presense of LTE in my neighborhood. I live on Pershing Ave and 31st St but can't tell what tower is transmitting LTE in this area. Anyway, good job Sprint.

Looks like there has been two purple dots mapped in Mira loma? One on limonite and van buren and the other off bell grave and van buren. Where is that LTE coming from? Has a tower turned on LTE and we don't know it?
What Map are you looking at?

I really just want LTE to launch in the UC Riverside area, I live on central and canyon crest, so not that far from school. That's all I want for Christmas.

I'll best you one. I want LTE to OFFICIALLY launch in the San bernardino and Riverside area

Only one tower in Coachella, ca and it decided to just transmit 3g today :/, LTE has been off all day.

This is exactly what I mean, 1 tower, c'mon man. double :/

I hate to be a Debbie Downer but when I hear "I get 5 mbps on Carson Road and Juniper St !!!", I cant get excited for you. When we here in San bernardino and Riverside Ca can get "CONSISTENT" 5 mbps in our towns, then, I will get excited. Not when I have to hang out on some random corner with a tower projecting 4g. Sprint just aint there yet.
-
Just to reinforce how wrong you are, observe:
http://cap.ci.clovis.ca.us/CAP/Site/Permit/View/ByPermitNumber/CMBN-001345-2013
Just what is it you want me to observe? that after the issue date the work was finalized in 2 weeks? Maybe I'm not reading that permit right.
-
It sure got dead around here. Where's the excitement? Hopefully we get some good news for the holidays.
-
Pickup 4g in Hemet as I walk to pickup my granddaughter from school cawston and Menlo ill be mapping it out, my speed test have been 23.92mbps download and 4.96 Mbps uploads, hope it stays
I used to get excited about them kinds of numbers here in Sbdno city too. Its just not consistent. The towers are too far apart from each other that it makes 4G seem like a cruel and very bad joke that it plays on you. Because of this I've been cussing and swearing like a trucker with hemmoroids. I get so freaking mad when I see 4 bars of 4g and am only picking up .09 mbps down.

It looks like our area completely stalled out. What a bummer. anyone hear any news about an official launch, more backhaul deployment or something? Anything

These set ups require multiple subcontractors. The easier it is for the subcontractors to complete the work, the faster acceptence of sites becomes. Sprint PLANNED for the 38,000 sites to be worked on by subcontractors, who had to get permits, backhaul, equipment, etc. approved and purchased to complete the work. Some of that work is subcontracted out, so there are even more variables that dictate when sites are accepted.
Sprints issue is only whom they subcontracted out to. Municipalities and vendors and subcontractors are the issue for the majority of the work being done.
I don't think this is the reason. I could see if a new tower is being installed then There would be a setback because of planning, hiring subs, planning commision meetings, etc. Pulling a permit does not take over a month to issue especially if the tower is already there. You can't argue that work has bogged down quite a bit. Please point me in the direction where "Municipalities, vendors and subcontractors" are to blame.
-
I wonder if Sprint planned this or they are just building up where theu are permitted by the local municipalities at any given time.
Thats possible. Hopefully not true

When is LTE coming to the Riverside market? I'm getting frustrated that Corona, Chino some parts of Ontario have LTE already.... whats going on??
supposedly real soon, official launch this month,I don't think so. I feel your frustration jes.
-
how are you guys doing in the inland empire/riverside area?
im consistently getting .20-.33 down in Jurupa/Eastvale.
data is currently useless because the speeds are so bad.
LTE is so spotty here in the inland empire with no new towers going live since I dont know when 10% of the time of day can I get a good 4G signal
-
NV is turned on in 3G in clusters, so it might be that the 3G that you're getting on your phone is being transmitted by legacy equipment.
What should we compare legacy equipment to, and would this be the only upgrade it recieves?
-
I'm hoping that the logical explanation is that back haul has finally become available and most of the 3g accepted towers are starting to get it and soon LTE will poor down .
I wish this were true! There's a tower a block away from my house that has a lock on the gate that I turned upside down just to see if there was or has been any activity beyond the gate. This tower according to Sprint is already NV complete but still only transmits 3g. Back haul is not yet installed. Needless to say the lock is still turned upside down. I pass by this tower everyday on my way to and from work.

Haven't seen any new activity in the San Bernardino area for some time now. Any thoughts?

This zone has been just incredibly slow to upgrade! In Temecula we got one tower upgraded.. many months ago.. and a whopping one other tower has gone live since.. unless you are walking you go into and out of LTE so quickly here that I find it better to disable LTE on my iPhone. My phone tries to hang on to a very weak LTE signal when a much stronger 3G signal is available.. both are terrible, but in most cases the 3G is better. I suspect if there was any sort of overlap with LTE that would be different.. but the rate in which towers are accepted is so painful in Riverside County.. I see trucks with lifts working on towers all over the area, but to date not one of them has been a Sprint upgrade.. T-Mobile and Verizon mostly..
I had hoped, as was the case in other areas, that once we saw a tower or two light up there would be others following quickly behind it.. this most certainly has not been the case. It is rough to see Verizon put up a new tower in a location that already has Verizon 4G signal, and in a location where Sprint has no signal.. at a High School.. It is frustrating to not see progress on existing sparsely located towers, but even worse to see competitors putting up new towers to improve the 4G signal that is already there..
I am trying to be patient, as are most Sprint customers.. and I think we all realize this is a massive undertaking.. but the lack of any tangible progress is pretty rough.. As my wife constantly reminds me.. unlimited data that can't be accessed isn't worth much... for something that isn't worth much, I send Sprint a lot of money.
Oh well.. maybe next week.. or the one after...
Or the one after that! I feel your pain, I really do. It's frustrating as hell. I know there are people here that will say "change carriers if your not happy", well that doesnt help. Stay positive my friend.

The site might be NV complete, but maybe waiting for fiber connections. Might take months to go online or might take days.
Maybe you were getting LTE from a near site? or probably someone mapped during tv
-
So is sprint adding new towers during this nv upgrade? I'm not sure if it's sprints but sprint is the only company I know that is doing upgrades in this area. There is a tower off Pedley and granite hill rd and it had two different companies panels (one panel at the top and a set of panels under it) . And today I drove by it and noticed a third set of panels. Did sprint add a these panels on the tower?
I live around the corner from a Sprint tower that has been NV complete for about 4 months that is still using 3G. I'm still waiting to get a 4G lte signal from it. According to the Sprint upgrades map this site is complete. IDK.

October is almost here. Who cares you say? We should! Supposed Official LTE launch ?

9 new LTE sites in the San Bernardino market today
where did you see this?
-
I'm thinking of ditching sprint after 10 plus years. Big red here I come. Sure the plans are a little more money but so what. It doesn't break the bank. At least with Verizon you get what you pay for.
-
It might depend on the vendor who already has backhaul there. If they can support the new capacity that is being requested, probably not a lot of visible work will be done. If they have to run new fiber, you'll see a lot of ground dug up.
Is there a way to find out if a particular sites has the backhaul there already?
