  1. True, I guess the only advantage to a nexus 5 is that i could jump to Tmo without having to get another phone. Ill keep my eye out for either. Thanks
  2. Cool, wasn't sure if knock on was possible or not. I will definitely check that out! I really like my g2 tho I hate to see it go. Pretty sure ive had this phone longer than any other.
  3. I've debated getting a nexus 5 but I'm so used to knock on on my g2 that I'm not sure I could go back. I'll have to research and see if anyone has got that to work on the N5. I saw refurbished unlocked nexus 5s for $190 that I should have bought but didn't. Yeah sounds like I just need to upgrade phones and if that doesn't work switch my phone to Tmo and drop my tablet data plan. As much as I hate to do that. Unlimited google play streaming with 30-55Mb down has really spoiled me.
  4. So I'm going to guess by now that there's no more adjustments being done in wichita? There's so many places driving on the west side that I drop down to 3g it's sad. Even when I'm outside for a walk around maple and Tyler I'll fall to 3g or have a -100 db B26 signal that can't even stream google play. Yeah when I pick up a B41 signal driving down Kellogg and other places its nice but the network I see right now in Wichita is as bad as I've ever seen it. All I want to do is stream google play music while I drive and not have to worry about loading my music before I leave WiFi. I know I could download stations but I don't think this is too much to ask of a carrier in 2015. Pretty much anywhere from 235 and maple west to 119th i treat as 3G. Also I'm using a G2 that I plan to keep as long as I can. I have a T-Mobile nexus 7 I use every day at work to stream and i'm considering adding a hotspot to keep in my vehicle just for streaming but that also has its limits. I remember reading how the s5 had the capability to use WiFi and cell networks simultaneously to boost download speeds. Is there any work around so I could use T-Mobile on WiFi and sprint LTE to use both networks and not have to switch manually between the two? Seems like a good idea if it's possible. This probably isn't the right place to ask but figured I'd give it a shot.
  5. Well I'm picking up a better band 26 signal at a bar near my house but still only managed .2mb down from a -97dbm signal. Sucks because all my texts are through hangouts so if I don't have data I have no texts. Found that out the hard way taking I70 west last weekend.
  6. Well it's been awhile. Anyone in Wichita seeing improvements? I'm picking up random blips of B41.
  7. I have been a sponsor. I will consider donating again though in a few weeks. Seems like theres always towers surrounding me with -100 or worse signal. Hopefully some fine tuning will help.
  8. Awesome info guys. Thanks! The only thing that worries me is tower placement compared to work/home/bars I go to. No LTE at work is the reason I got my nexus 7. I guess I'll find out soon enough though!
  9. Yeah not bad but I ran a speed test on my T-Mobile nexus 7 waiting at sonic and got 60 down while my sprint phone had no LTE. So thats what i have to compare it to. I just want them to be able to compete. I have an LG G2.
  10. Picking up some band 41 in Wichita. Saw a whopping 9 down a few times. Easy sprint. What's the easiest way to report dead spots and does it make a difference?
  11. I should say I broke my g2 just a couple of weeks ago and I was never very happy. I know since my s3 is a single band I won't be getting as good of service. I was almost always on 800 LTE with my g2.
  12. Anyone in Wichita seeing any improvements. I'm back on my s3 since I broke my g2. Seriously considering a T-Mobile g2.
  13. Just had a -72 band 26 signal and got 1.44Mb down. Is that a capacity or back haul or issue with something else?
  14. Yeah that's my daily experience. My experience at home and work is so bad I can't see adjustments making me happy but I'm being optimistic. There's a few places I go I get good service so we'll see.
  15. You would think but it gets pretty bad reception. Lots of cycling to pickup LTE.
  16. Its pretty bad. I have a g2 so I know that's part of the problem. North of Kellogg around maize, Tyler, Ridge. There's a few areas on the west side that have good service but not like I expected with 800. Just waiting on some more tweaking.
  17. Interesting. Its back now but just as bad as ever. With a -103 band 26 signal I get 1Mb down. I don't understand.
  18. Anybody know what's going on in Wichita? No LTE since last night around 7pm. Multiple phones multiple areas.
  19. I've been connecting to band 26 on my g2 in Wichita quite a bit but not really getting much better service. Hopefully they're just not all lit up yet. Not impressed with the g2 reception either. Anyone else in Wichita with opinions?
  20. I'll have to check out some custom prls. It connects to 1x 800 sometimes but roams way more than my s3. handoffs between 25 and 26 are very smooth tho. The only major problem I have is it getting stuck on 3g and just like my evo LTE having to cycle airplane mode to connect to 4g. Are there any fixes for that? Might be looking for an N5.
  21. I don't know of anyone with an N5. I like the g2 and I would have got the nexus of it wasn't for knock on and the ir blaster. Is there any way to change the threshold of when it connects to 1x 800? I think if that was fixed id be OK with it for awhile. I bet the nexus would work at my desk because I get a faint LTE right outside my door. I just want to stream all access all day long! I've been waiting for 800 LTE for 2 years and dang, what a disappointment. Also I've had this thing plugged into a 1amp charger pretty much all day since 6 and it only went from 10% to 80% now. Charger problem?
  22. Now I'm roaming instead of connecting to 800 at work. Wonderful. Texts failing and coming in late. Any ideas?
  23. Well thanks for all the help. I got to work today crossing my fingers I would connect to band 26 at my desk.. Had a -119 signal for about a minute then nothing. Suuucks. Guess I'll be using my T-Mobile nexus 7 as a hot spot for good now. I'm pretty disappointed but I'm liking the g2 other than that. Getting used to a sealed battery will stuck tho. A couple more questions. On my s3 I could turn off data and only connect to 1x 800 which would save my battery life. When I turn my data off on the g2 I still connect to ehrpd and regular 1x. Is there a reason it won't park on 800 like the s3?
  24. Oh man that sucks.. I ended up buying it. Just about to activate it. I probably wouldn't have bought it knowing this. I dealt with an evo LTE for way too long.
  25. So I'm going to look at a used g2 and was wondering how to tell the manufacture date. Also how is the reception compared to the other triband phones? I thought I saw a thread comparing them all but can't find it now. Thanks!!
