Does B41 work okay in the mountains?

Yes! Very well surprisingly, but being able to pull traffic away from the B25 2xCA nearly all around makes the experience amazing!

Although not much in the city, the East Mountains (where I live) have been having upgrades like crazy. B41 2xca or 3xca on most sites now, along with TMobile roaming and ATT roaming. It’s crazy to see how Sprint is by far one of the strongest now up here. Just months ago it was only B25, and scattered B26 sites.

I was driving around ABQ yesterday running errands and I noticed three different towers with new equipment. Two with mini macros and one with 8t8r. Nice the northeast heights is getting some love.
I've been noticing that as well here in the East Mountains. Edgewood and Moriarty have B41 now, and every site in the canyon has LTE. Very slow LTE in some areas, on par with 3G, but fast enough for VoLTE. I'm thinking almost the entire metro has very usable data now!

I believe it, the average has increased completely. According to the RootMetrics 2H17 ABQ report, "Sprint's median download speed increased from 1.6 Mbps to 7.1 Mbps." Also considering most GMOs in the state have LTE turned on now, the entire market has improved in the past 6 months or so.

Does anyone have Tmobile? I am thinking of switching as I travel a lot on I40 west to Arizona and the service is just terrible.
There is a tower in Window Rock but Sprint confirmed for me today there are no planned upgrades to the tower for the next 6 months. It still has not been upgraded from legacy equipment.
I have a T-Mobile Note8 and it’s fairly unreliable through there. You get LTE in the towns but between them it’s nothing. (Like emergency calls only/no service nothing) I don’t remember exactly compared to Sprint however.

Coverage Map feature? I just got an update for the Speed Test App for iOS today, but I don’t see this in the App. Am I missing it somehow?
It’s only on Android. (For now at least)

I’ve had faceID for over a month - odd.
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkFace ID has always worked for Apps still only set up for Touch ID. This update cosmetically “added” Face ID to the app’s log-in process. Not much changing in the consumers view.

Formal note of my exit of this thread and joining the X thread.
On Xmas day my 6S died a sudden death while sitting by the Xmas tree and taking photos!
The local repair centre took all of 5 minutes to assess and then sent that assessment to Apple. I got a $445 written quote for a replacement (not much details) which I rejected.
One month out of extended warranty and this happens...thanks Apple.
Upside...the X.
P.S. Happy New Year, everyone!
Hmm, where was the quote from? I know direct from Apple, a dead iPhone 6S replacement out-of-warranty is only $299 + tax.

That’s really interesting. I live near Louisiana and Vivian/San Antonio and when I had Sprint back in Feb, I rarely got speeds higher than maybe 3 Mbs.
Just as an update from a few minutes ago, San Antonio and Louisiana, 26 down, 6 up.
San Antonio and Wyoming, 57 down, 5 up.

That’s really interesting, you’d think the evening is when it’d get busier.
That's what I thought too, but the lunch hour here is so hard on all of the networks since its a busy area for office/industrial lunch breaks.

So when you say “unusable” what type of speeds are you talking about? The 1-3 Mbps that I used to get or less?
By unusable, I mean nothing gets through-3G needed for most iMessages and other small things to go through. During the lunch hour, it is barely usable with 0.5-2mbps.

It helps with 2xCA on B25 here which recently showed up in this area!

Anyone else notice that Speedtest.net now prioritizes Sprint servers in PHO and LA? I've never been on a Sprint server while testing here in Albuquerque before!

Anyone run any speed tests by Louisiana/San Antonio area lately? Or Wyoming/Academy here in ABQ? Thanks!
Both areas become barely usable between noon-2PM. Typically I will get around 10-15mbps down most of the day here. The closer to Paseo you get the slower it gets, Paseo×Wyoming being an intersection unusable all day.

Thanks for that information. Just makes it confusing as once I leave the house all I get is B25 which is the nearest macro site.
Even if the MB receives B25 as backhaul, it will only broadcast B41.

does the verizon iphone 7 plus work on Sprint's band 41 network? i checked apple's website and it look like it does but I wanted to double check
Yes I currently use mine and it has full compatibility.

Is there an iPhone X User thread? I got mine on launch day lol. I have a question in relation to the engineering screen. It no longer shows the band that you're on. Not sure if it's an iOS thing or just an iPhone X thing.

My iPX definitely still shows the band. You looking at Field Test?

I’ve got an iPhone 8. Maybe you’re right.
I also recently got off off the iOS beta program. It’s possible the update may only be for people who are enrolled...
(I don’t know if you are)I've got an iPhone 7, you? Perhaps this update is model-specific?
I have an iPhone 7 Plus and I got the profile update as well.

Sprint HD voice supported on Verizon model iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus? I am calling my brother on Sprint which has Verizon model, noticed no HD voice on my unlocked S8+.
Everything is supported between later V and S iPhone models.(WiFi calling, CA, HD Voice, etc.) Nice thing about iPhones.

This is the front of the site.. it also has another 3sectors on the other side of the tower. This is the first site like this in El paso

I quit the website and went Best Buy. Ill bite the $30 activation fee. I am trading in a 6 so the sprint flex is a nice option at $22 for 18 months. Don't mind paying $41 for 6 months.
I went with Best Buy as well. I’m off Fridays so it will be nice to have it ready when they open instead of waiting for a 5PM delivery! Plus the website worked so smooth. Sprint was slow and freezing up.

Sprint up 5 points in El Paso in the 2nd half of 2017

I can see that. I was just recently there and some areas have way improved, most stagnant and consistent with the past.

I just saw a boost mobile kit at target. Bring your own phone for nation wide LTE service?
How since Sprint doesn’t use LTE for voice? Or does it roam on att for voice only.
They still require it to be a CDMA phone.

I would agree with this, a considerable amount of time I spend is off of b41.
One thing to add to the thread, I have had a fantastic time with VoLTE in Albuquerque. There’s a site in the east canyon on my way home that offers nearly 0 data on LTE. However, VoLTE is flawless through LTE drop zones, at least where I travel and spend time on the phone.
