I found evidence by one of Sprint employee, 4G LTE will still take months to come to PHILADELPHIA!!!!!!
"Thanks for the post. I can feel your frustration with this. We are trying to get the upgrades out and have already started work in PA. I know you dont want to hear this but it will be in the next few months. Check the link, this will give you up to date info on the LTE rollout."
Information can be found on: http://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/110519.
Go on and express your idea or whatsoever........ Still months away.............
PLEASE SHOW US SOME BROTHERLY LOVEEEEE.....

Crazy, I live close to a tower as well and I'm lucky if I see like .1 mbps up. I hope I see that kind of improvement soon!
I will be happy if pages would load on regular basis. Most times in downtown philly, my browser does not load pages.

In my neighborhood (Manayunk) area I get these speeds:
Not too shabby, LTE cannot come soon enough.
Im jealous that you get good speeds at Manayunk.
-
I could only dream! here's what we get regularly in Center City Philly:
This is what we usually get in Philly. Speed is terrible during the day and towards midnight it gets a little better.

I have said a few weeks ago, that LTE can take up to couple months to half a year to come.
But apparently some people disagree. Lets see who is right.
Has been 15 days.......Still counting......

Now i'm just a little pissed that the tower only a few hundred yards away, is complete NV but they won't flip the freaking LTE switch. come on really
To be honest, I think lots of people are pissed. Hahaha

Good to see that everyone is anxious. Glad to see people in Philly do care about this 4G LTE.

I actually was in the media area and had a chance to give lte a go. It was amazing, 27 down, 7 up. YouTube and Netflix streamed instantly, it felt like a new phone. I'm too excited at this point.
Only thing is who knows when they will turn that switch on.
Everyone is anxious I am sure.

Just read this article. Apparently Iphone 5S and 6 are coming out in 2013.
What do we think?
-
Oh, that site I am aware. I thought there were actually some other new sites. Thanks!

Hopefully US carriers get these features. I like the split screen and multitask on a smartphone.

Which site is it that is built from ground up? I would like to test it out sometimes in the next few days.
-
I haven't see any updates in Philly and areas right outside of Philly. Drove around different areas in the past few days and did not really catch any 4G signals.

HappyHappy, you have an ironic screenname. You sound anything but.
It is not a good idea to make remarks about people's username.
But anyway, It is a good username .

Why is it such a big deal if i know their timeline? or at least attempted timeline. All the competitors have it in Philly already, it's just Sprint without it and if they want to at least make me happy just tell me what they're TRYING to do. I don't care if these tiny towns get it because they have fewer cell sites, send those crews over to the big cities and get cracking. Government permits and equipment I doubt is holding them up.
Exactly what I said couple weeks ago. Apparently people do not think alike and they think tiny towns gets few live 4G LTE towers is showing a sign that Sprint is on schedule.
It is a marketing strategy, tiny towns gets few towers and they call it a market!

That's not how Alcatel Lucent has handled their other markets. They will continue to upgrade 3G first and then they will start bringing up the LTE side on the converted towers. They have already turned one on. There will be more over the coming weeks and months.
There will likely not be full coverage until the end of summer, but your timelines are way off.

With all respect, I don't even know what you are talking about when you said my timeline is way off.
Lets hear something from you about Philly........I live in Philly and I use 3G every single day so I do know what the speed is. I have an app that displays the 3G speed continuously.
Maybe you love sprint or what so ever, but Sprint 's 3G has lots of room for improvements.

I get pretty good 3G speed and coverage, not entirely sure if Network Vision was completed on my local tower but I have benched over 2.2Mbps, maybe that's a sign that at least for my specific area LTE may come sooner than later. I know an area about 40 minutes here that has LTE at least accordingly to Sensorly.
It could be a sign that 4G LTE is on its way to your area but I get anywhere from 0.01 mb to 0.2 mbs from 10 AM to 10 PM.
I guess Sprint may upgrade all the towers first then when everything is ready then they turn on 4G LTE.

Thank you very much and welcome! THE Philly market seems to have the least users on this forum considering its size.
Yup, quite sad so many views and so few comments.
-
No it did not read 4g it read 3g but with improved speeds. Seeing even more increased speed now. most recent speed test done at 2:30am est 1/16/13 2.01mb/s
Usually people get anywhere from 1 MB to 3 MB from 12 AM to 6 AM, this is because the network is not packed, so speed increases when you have less traffic.

Any updates for the philly area?
I have some insider news from a friend, he says Philly's 4G LTE can still be a long wait. Couple months to half a year.
-
You're being quite pedantic. Media is in the Philadelphia market. Please don't be butthurt it isn't in Philadelphia proper.
Yea right.
-
i am using the computer and see nothing. I zoomed and nothing showed up. Do you mind grab a screen shot?
I do see it now. Personally, I do not know why that site has to be up first.
Just a side note this is in Media Pennsylvania, not Philadelphia.
-
If you are on your phone app you will have to zoom in before it shows up. Its on Baltimore Pike just south of the Penn State Brandywine campus.

Well the wait just got shorter! Just went on Sensorly and saw the first patch of LTE for the Philadelphia market!
Are you sure? I went on and got nothing!!!
