    LG G3

I uninstalled Xposed and switched to ART while rooted with Stomp Root, seems smooth so far, not sure about battery life yet though.

  1. 800 LTE is pretty crazy, I stayed connected to the same tower until I was roughly 3000 meters away, with 80dbm signal! I'll post screens later if I remember, also more B41 speed tests :)

Still need to get out near Riggs&East West with my DSLR

Yeah it seems as though fringe LTE in a lot of places is murdering my battery life, although I still have to give it more time.

Pretty much all video and photo looks really great on this. I got mine today, and the only problem I really have with it so far is battery life, but I haven't even gotten through one cycle on it yet

Got my G3 today and love it! Screen is incredibly beautiful and sooo big. One question, once you've enabled wifi calling, how do you get rid of the persistent notification asking if you want to update your location for it? I update it and it goes away for about 30 seconds, then it comes back :/

To funny . I checked my battery stats and PayPal doesn't show up on mine. I will say I've got no issues with the battery life on this device. Just cleared 11hrs with 32% remaining... And that's with optimizer. I can live with that!

The one minor complaint I have is the volume slider in the drop down notification bar. I would much rather have a brightness slider there. I've seen other variants have both volume and brightness sliders (which is a bit much) but it would be nice to have an option of what you'd rather have there. Overall, this device just pleases me more everyday

If I'm not mistaken, you can go into the edit menu for the toggles or whatever and change what sliders appear. I don't have the phone, so hopefully someone else can offer a little more specifics.

Not at all. It is not nearly as bad as people have made it out to be. Honestly, it is not even an issue at all on my copy.

Just wondering before I pull the trigger on this phone, how much do you guys notice screen sharpening on a  day-to-day basis?

  2. Qi charger? Are you using the correct amps charger? With my old palm pre if I didn't use the correct charger with the cradle it wouldn't charge. Maybe try different Qi chargers. There's like 10 of them now.

I'm using one that mentioned the S3 and came with an S3 wireless insert, so I'm assuming it's the correct amperage. The wall wart and pad both say 1.5A, which is roughly the same as the wall charger I was using before the port went kaput.

  3. I'm having an issue with my GS3, and I was wondering if you guys know what's up. Recently, the USB port broke and stopped charging (corrosion due to something), so I picked up a wireless charger to charge it. It came in today, and now the phone boots up and everything, I factory reset it, but it won't charge past 0%. It shows up as charging and it turns on fine, but it just won't go past 0%. I'm leaving it off and charging for a while longer, but I'm not sure it will make a difference.

  4. I thought the question was if Sprint would allow it on their network if bought unlocked through the google play store.

That's what I thought too, because of the issues that Sprint doesn't use a fluid SIM system, instead tying your number to a phone's hardware until you call them to activate or deactivate it. Hopefully Google has worked out a way for Sprint to relax their policy about it and make the tech work with it.

  5. Any of you guys that bought the new Nexus 7 have any thoughts so far on this product?  I still would have liked to see Google make a Nexus 8 with a slim profile like this because I think its perfect size for me.  I am kinda getting tired with my heavy 10 inch HP Touchpad tablet and want to get a smaller size tablet.  I was hoping for an 8 inch tablet but with the Nexus branding to ensure for up to the latest Google updates but may consider purchasing the new Nexus 7 given that it doesn't seem that Google will be making a Nexus 7, Nexus 8 and Nexus 10.

I'm typing this from my new nexus 7, having come from a touchpad like you. The size is really different, but the amazing screen more than makes up for it. I really like mine, and would certainly recommend it.

  6. Interesting post..maybe carriers should use GPS to prevent us from using the network while we are at home? That way we'd be force'd to use another connection and the network would still work great when we are mobile.

I think you're misunderstanding what I said, and I don't think I was clear. Sprint is never going to be able to offer completely unlimited data with unlimited tethering at a reasonable cost. However, I would rather have them keep unlimited mobile data and cap tethering plans than to have them cap everything like AT&T and Verizon are doing. And if you want to use Sprint as your home internet, then maybe there could be an expensive unlimited tier for tethering. And yes, I support offloading, but I think that we shouldn't have forced caps on everything, but it's difficult to offer unlimited tethering at a reasonable price. Another potential idea is to give a low free allowance of tethering for when you really need it, but otherwise just have am actual capped tiered tethering plan with unlimited mobile data. Hope that makes more sense.

  7. I really like the idea of capped tethering and unlimited smartphone usage. After all, the only way to really abuse the network to such an extent is to tether it and use it as home internet (unless you're watching Netflix on your phone 24/7, which sucks). I'm hoping that Sprint will hold out for as long as they can without data caps, and this is probably the best way of doing so for everyone.
