I can put on my construction worker costume, come knock on your door, and take a look at your "sector."
AJ
crude, just another guy with a 'big tool' (so he declares) when I actually have to break out my magnifying glass and tweezers when 'push comes to shove'
been there done that
and someone else said a female amongst a 'sausagefest', a dude btw with a corny avatar
why would another guy be thinking about all the other penis's surrounding him ??
strange to say the least....
and why can't a lady/woman/female join a forum and not be lambasted with crude statements and treatment ?!!!
FFS a woman wants romance, flowers and niceness before you get 'in her'
and any asshat who doesn't get that, well don't even try

just checking in to say the phone is lovely, super fast, comfy in hand and then some, awesome display....and the battery life is extraordinary !!
they finally got a Nexus 'right' (sorry to the LTE issue laden comrades )
i disabled quite a few things fine, installed textra, gone is hangouts
i hate all the extra crap, nowadays specially from google
btw, don't bother installing too many of your 'apps' for a few weeks or more (month or two)
not compatible yet, just enjoy the vanilla juicyness for now for what it is !

Where is all this WiMax discussion coming from...?
from me, i mentioned it when looking at sensorly maps and was clueless to what sprint had for 4g
thought wimax could be that, but it is all cleared up, for me anyways
-
or maybe lte is not 'working' for the phone like many others....
-
thanks guys got it
I did a scan inside and out and got no sprint signal at all, but did get att verizon and tmo
sensorly shows sprint 4g for my home for sure
maybe i have to have the sprint sim in ? or phone activated for 'sprint'
dunno
-
Check overage using either the Sensorly app or website. If you aren't familiar with sensorly, it shows reported areas covered by people who have gotten signal at that location. The maps that carriers provide are too generous with coverage and show theoretical coverage vs actual.
hmmm interesting
sensorly shows NO sprint wimax for my area but 4g is low to medium
sorry be noob-like but is sprint wimax=lte ?
and their 4g is different somehow ?
also I only see the options on N5 to switch between LTE, 3g and 2g

I am jealous of you wall!
Google finally displays a ship date of 11/26...that is Thanksgiving week! Might not get it until the following week
umm sorry
it will be worth the wait !!
I am def sticking with it and selling my hd maxx
Uptime and almost constant use/screen on time of 1 hour 15 min. and battery went from 88% to 86%
holy jeebus

Without a SIM, I get similar results here, too:
The difference is that Sprint band 25 LTE is available in my case, while VZW band 4 LTE is available in your case.
AJ
hmmmm so maybe sprint lte is not even available at my home ??
their map says otherwise
gotta be a setting or need of sim in
-
Its on a piece of paper, in the middle. Look between the warranty booklets.
nope, wasn't anywhere i just looked all over
-
No, that MCC-MNC is MetroPCS. You do not have native MetroPCS in Portland, but 311-660 is probably broadcast now so that MetroPCS devices will attach to the T-Mobile network.
AJ
ok so why is no sprint showing up ?
maybe it is only scanning for gsm and not cdma ?
-
I just went on my account and checked the Sprint site. It shows the upgrade price ($150) instead of the $50 Was I too late?!?
not sure
I got it for my price with a 'new line/account'
-
Did you say without the SIM?!
uh huh, powered up, Google forced an update of 125mb
rebooted and I am now playing with phone, changing settings etc.
will pop in a tmo sim later
btw you need to have a wifi connection (if no sim in) for the initial google update
you cannot 'skip it'
and the camera GUI for settings and overall use suck
-
powered on without a sim in
went into settings and searched for all carriers:
is 311 660 Sprint ??

I have a question: Right now, Sprint is selling the Nexus 5 for 50 bucks (based on their website). Is that for new lines only or for upgrade lines as well and Is this price online only?
thats what I got it for, I would jump on it because it is supposed to be $150....
I also didn't have to port over a number at all for the $100 discount
paid $99 with a $50 rebate card

Are you going to put on your nurse costume and treat yourself?
AJ
perhaps, then i could make a 'test' video of it with my new Nexus 5 !
a few minutes in and this phone is beautiful, the screen is gorgeous and the phone is ridiculously FAST

There was custom Sprint disclaimer text on the box that said there is a software carrier lock, but I haven't tried it myself.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
ooops, that is correct, the tiny fine print on box says it is software 'locked' to sprint which is hardly true lol
-
Has anybody put another carrier SIM in a N5 marketed as a sprint N5... Curious if there is Carrier lock..
I just received my sprint ordered black 16g N5
there is NO Sprint logo/markings anywhere on phone or box
took out sprint sim and going to power on without it
will be putting in a tmo prepaid sim later today
-
just got my phone, she is a beauty, very slim and light, and 'small' for a 5" screen, wow !
the hole to open the sim tray is ridiculously small and no tool included
i had to use a needle and hurt my finger

What's interesting is that when active Verizon SIM is inserted in Nexus 5, you can only toggle LTE Only, and 3GPP technologies. It will not allow toggling 3GPP2 at all. But then again, I'm not successfully attaching to Verizon which could explain this behavior carrying over previous (T-Mobile) settings.
It's extremely frustrating not to be able to utilize this great Cat 4 UE on Verizon's 20Mhz B4 that's active here.
Hi, can you please describe your experience(s) with a Verizon sim in the Nexus 5 ?
As much info as you can spare would be greatly appreciated !
-
Man, reading about all these LTE issues makes me glad I popped in the $30 T-Mobile SIM card first (once I get the S5, I'll sell the S4 and bring the N5 in to Sprint).
Maybe b/c it's GSM but my N5 LTE & voice experience on T-Mobile has been very smooth. I hope Sprint will fix their LTE issues soon.
thank you for the very good info, i might be going thataway

Okay, if you are a "cosplaygirrrl," then you are probably Japanese. And if you are Japanese, then your "holy carp" is koi.
Am I right?
AJ

Sorry to hear that, been down that road, but it does get better. Welcome aboard, and good luck. This phone is the best phone to have because of what it offers for such a low price. Sure the camera may not be top rated, and it has a 2300mAh battery, but my GS3 had a 2200mAh battery. Best of all I get tri bad Sprint Spark, and can go to any other carrier or use any other carrier simm minus Verizon with no contract issues.
I want a triband Note 4, then maybe on to a Windows phone at some point.
why thank you
and
yes indeed on the price to spec ratio
2.2 quad core, 2gig ram, hd screen, slim and comfy, gorilla glass, ceramic buttons !
and I too want that future investment of sorts of being able to jump carriers at will (prepaid) and just still use the one very nice phone to do it, and easily
