  1. Those texts look exactly like what happens when you put Sprint visual voicemail onto an AOSP ROM, though I think the latest CM versions are able to correctly hide those texts (I'm using SlimBean 4.3 right now on my GS3). I'm not really an expert on this, but I believe the Sprint visual voicemail app uses these SMS messages to determine whether you got a voicemail or not, and while stock ROMs know how to handle this, this functionality is not baked into AOSP, so it just comes in as a regular text.

I just ended up calling the number and pressing 1, which I guess disables visual voicemail completely. Haven't seen it since.

  2. Nice. I put an order for a black 32 and it still just saying "leaves 2-3 weeks"...... My sims haven't even shipped from Sprint.

There is a way to go into the Gmail settings and unintegrate them, have to be on a computer to do it a believe. Then reintegrate through the phone app. This may or may not work. Worked for some customers when I worked at Sprint.

Side note, TINY DEATH STAR  :tu:

Doh. Tried that and when re-adding GV/Sprint integration GV says it could not set my Google Voice number. Maybe I should wait awhile before trying to re-add it.

And hell yeah Tiny Death Star!

  3. Switched from a GS3 to Nexus 5. I also have Sprint integration with Google Voice.

I'm getting these weird SMSs from shortcodes:

I get ones from another shortcode that are even more garbled. Calling that number says something like "Our records indicate you are calling from a SMS voice messaging equipped phone. Press 1 if you recently bought a phone that cannot do this."

Should I press one? I don't want to make some change that's going to break something.

  4. I am interested in the t-mobile experience where wifi acts like an airave. Same number, no apps, no setup...it just works.

I think its poor form of Google to not make that possible on their device. Vanilla google shouldn't mean "lacks critical features"  (cough sd card cough)

Don't blame Google, blame T-Mobile for not making it available.

  5. Yes sir.  I am opening up a ticket right now.

I don't know why Sprint hasn't received the MEIDs yet.

If you try and activate online you get this error:

     New device to activate

Not the right device? Select an inactive device from your account or enter new device.

Hmmm… this number doesn't match our records, please try again.

If I try to swap my Nexus 5 with my GS3 online it will accept my IMEI (without the 0 at the end). It recognizes it as Model: LG D8201G WH XCVR SGL and asks for the SIM information.

Of course I don't have a SIM so...
