    LG G3

Root is long ways out. A month at best.

Maybe from jcase, but I know there are at least two other groups of people trying to get root for our phone right now. That said, it could still obviously take quite awhile.

On a thread-related note, has anyone upgraded to the G3 on SERO so far? Just curious to see if you had difficult or easy experiences and if difficult, what was the end result that made it happen. TIA! It really seems like Sprint has tied their retentions department up and made it part of their regular CSR world, making it impossible to get any help on upgrading a device at a lower cost (wife just wants a 5C, not expecting help on the G3 of course).

Picked up one online and another in a corporate store (both lines on Sero) with no problems. Also, the manager initially called in thinking she'd have to swap my plan then swap back to Sero, but that turned out to not be the case. She said the double plan change wasn't necessary, because I had a G2 on the line and the product codes were similar enough.

PS - My plan is still intact :)

I got a warning when ordering saying that I may have to change my plan when activating it, but I seem to remember getting this warning way back when ordering my GS3 and had no issue.

I opted for the 2 year contract since I'm not planning on going anywhere.

The very next page then says something like "good news, no need to change your plan." It's been like this for quite some time and there's no need for concern :)

Can you buy from Best Buy if you have a SERO line that is out of contract?

    Not anymore

Any word on the contract price? I'm planning on renewing my 2 year SERO contract.

My guess is $199.99. I just stumbled upon the new rebate forms (expire 9/18/14) and the S5 Sport is the only added device. Someone on here probably knows the "for sure" price.

Sprint issued the press release saying available July 18th

But it does not mention whether it will be the 16GB/2GB or the 32GB/3GB version. Do we know for sure which Sprint will carry and if will be the same memory spec as the other carriers?

  1. With the LG G2 and now with TEP at $11, there is no way in hell I would be getting the TEP insurance especially if I lose it and need to pay a $150 deductible.

Agreed, plus you can get a sealed G2 on Swappa for around $300.

  2. I've had this phone for about one day (Previous Note 2 user) and I LOVE IT! I'm also getting LTE/3G handoffs where I live, whereas I wasn't able to do this with the Nexus 5. I guess CSFB/eCSFB stuffs have been turned on since then :D

  3. Ok cool. I got it from a corporate store. So should be good.

Oh, well that's a different story. This is a websales/telesales thing only and I've seen people on SD who bought in store, get shot down both in store and by calling, but I'd still probably give it a try. Thing is, I have no idea if order support can even access your purchase.

  4. Hey guys.  I think I'm going to sell my note 2 and get this bad boy.  Does anyone that migrated from the note to the N5 have any comments on anything you missed on the note?  I know the screen is slightly smaller, but think it won't be a huge issue for me.

The battery life! Keep in mind I have an extra Samsung OEM battery/charger, so I can always swap batteries and never have to plug my Note 2 into a charger. Screen size being smaller wasn't too bad, but the Nexus 5 was tough to keep due to the battery life. I'm going to attempt the same thing with the G2 and try and ween myself off the whole "never having to charge" dependency, being that the G2 battery lasts longer than the Nexus 5,

Edit - FWIW, I am a VERY VERY heavy user :)

  5. That would sound great, But I can open new lines under my 1500 everything plan I just aquired?  Do you know of a way to do it? Also does anyone know if the $50 sale will make it to Dec. 19?

No idea on the first question and I seriously doubt the G2 will be priced @ $50 after today or Free after tomorrow.

  6. Thanks everyone,

I think I'm going to roll the dice and get them for the family with the sale. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the N5 has the Kit Kat. And as mention above, upgrading to that might have the fix for the RF issue. Besides 800 should fix the problem also.Si

Just can't beat this phone for $50.  So I'm going to get 3.

    Thanks again.

Wait until tomorrow. It'll be free via websales.

  7. Anyone here take advantage of the LG G2 promotion going on this black Friday weekend for only $50 on Sprint?  If you did, I hate you  :P since I paid $199 for the G2 just 3 weeks ago.

I just ordered one today and I'm so glad I returned my Note 3 back in October. At first I was hoping for more deals, but then I realized nothing can beat the G2 @ $50. FWIW, I saw someone post about getting the $150 difference refunded with a preorder from late October and they obviously got to keep the free case as well. I forget if I saw this on XDA, AC, or SD, but I'd at least give it a try.

I swear I saw it somewhere else too, but here you go - http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=63948240&postcount=140
