  1. I'll ask around to the people more familiar with the TD-LTE side and try to get an update.
  2. My work computer. :-) Edit: 40.086340000, -104.98472000000 are the registered coords, see for yourself.
  3. Nevermind, This one is sprint. It's wasn't supposed to get NetVision until the second round. A change perhaps.
  4. Calhan? Yea, that was a crappy drive. BTW, heads up Durango people (if any). *wink*
  5. More dirt... Sprint is having some difficulty with switching on the towers due to faulty instillation of the fiber from the Cab to the RRUs. On a bunch of sites the fiber in the hybrid cable is immediately failing and they are forced to switch to the backup (which sometimes fails as well). The construction crews are supposed to scope the fiber before and after instillation and have very strict procedures for installation, but apparently some crews aren't following the rules. This is causing delays in switch-on, as well as issues where the LTE goes live, then disappears a few days later.
  6. The list of 'in progress' sites has been sent to the authorities. It is 212 sites, and I would expect about half to already be on the map in some state. Even at that, the list sent does not include about 80 sites that I was unable to add at this time. Yes, that means roughly 300 sites are already at least in progress. I will try to add updates as I feel comfortable making them public (ie. you could have seen them). As always, PM me if you have specific questions about your neighborhood (sponsors only, please, :] )
  7. Running underground fiber through frozen ground is significantly harder. I would guess it should be progressing nicely by March. Yes, it is coming to 80016. I would recommend an upgrade to sponsor maps but it appears to be blank in that area for the time being. I plan on fixing some of that incompleteness in the near future. There are hardly any legacy sites remaining in Grand Junction. Look for your 4g to go live sooner than Denver (December?). I would guess that your connection woes are mostly due to the transition taking place rather rapidly and in an area with few sites that double cover.
  8. Okay, time for some dirt. The Sprint network backhaul (switch side and branches) is near completion. The only slowdown is the "last mile" backhaul of getting the fiber to the sites. This is done by outside contractors and they are well behind schedule. The network will be ready Jan. 1st. and the 'last mile' should be completed within a couple months of that (weather permitting). As for the sponsor maps, I am considering a huge data dump to get the Denver area updated. There are easily 2 or 3 times as many "in progress" sites completed than are up there. It might give you guys a better perspective on why the 'last mile' is taking forever, those guys are SWAMPED.
  9. I will let you guys know the exact moment I see an 800LTE card. But for know I'm skeptical that it is actually happening any time soon.
  10. My bad on the terminology. I was talking about the 3g. But specifically, I have heard rumors from managers about bringing on the LTE in clusters alongside the 3g cluster switch. Either way, there appears to be a big shift coming very soon. The NV shipments are drying up. Could mean more focus on acceptance in the next few weeks.
  11. When the full LTE goes live you will know it. They can't bring up individual sites as they are completed as the NV and legacy equipment can't talk to each other properly. When it happens it will be huge and it will be entire clusters at a time. You are only seeing the sites as they are being tested for a short time.
  12. Shoot me a PM and I can check on specific network issues in your area. I can tell you the northern CoSprings has been fairly busy in the past few weeks with NV.
  13. So. I am a tech working hands on with the rollout. Because of NDAs and job security issues I will have to keep most of the details on the vague side. Needless to say this equipment is very, very fast. Unfortunately, the rollout is not going as speedy as planned. I can assure you that I have been to every corner of this fine state to personally see the equipment. It is EVERYWHERE. Based on some inside info on rollout expect Grand Junction and CoSprings to go live a lot faster than Denver will. Ohh, and 800LTE is already in the pipe.
