I am looking at the updated map of Sprint coverage.
I also look at my parent place in Manvel, Tx and I cant even Sprint signal and have to be on roaming and my 3D phone drain in 2 hours.
Now, it changed from Roaming to LTE coverage. Can this be true?
That tells me LTE signal (orange color) can go very far then 4G WiMax?
Or perhaps its too early to tell.
-
I saw it just now. Its orange everywhere for the LTE vs 4G WiMax. I find it hard to believe! But it is true, I am in luck.
I mean LTE is so good they dont even put in the info if you get it inside the building or outside the building.

No, probably what you're confusing is that Sprint has 5x5MHz Carriers for it's LTE vs 10x10 for Verizon. That is a statement of carrier bandwidth not operating frequency.
Sprint's frequency is 1900 MHz for it's LTE while Verizon is using 700MHz. Verizon's range should be better, depending on a variety of factors that have been mentioned here many times.
Why is Sprint freq so high? That will not give good range right?
I am blessed and luckly that my HTC LTE can see 5 ghz and 2.4 ghz signal now. But I cant connect it far with the 5ghz signal. The 3D cant even do 5 ghz signal.

I used "Open Signal Maps".
Didnt know about this app. Comment say this thing is running in the background? Not good.
There is a app to check your heartbeat. That was neat.
-
Didnt I read 5 ghz for Sprint vs 10 ghz for others like Verizon?
From what I know and law of physics, lower ghz has further range. I must prefer this and so Sprint range will be further than Verizion also? My uneducated guess.

Is it on sale? I try to stock up on LTE when it is $.79/lb.

Funny. Its like water half full or half empty.

LTE is alive in Alvin,TX at Krogers grocery store. For anyone out of the area, Alvin is 30 miles south of Houston and about 30 miles north of Galveston. I was seeing a peak of 13 meg down.
I been there. Is it near the interstate?
My parent live in Manvel, west of it.

I'd take a HTC EVO LTE or GS3 any day, even without the LTE network. The phones work fine without it.
I cant even do Skype right now on the 3G speed. Yah I can do Wifi but I am not at home.
My webpage keep hanging. My IM+ keep crashing and lost my chat each time my 3G got lost. I am getting constant disconnect on 3G.
Why is 3G performing so poorly?

Nothing here in Atlanta market yet. I tried after rebooting and with wi-fi on and off. Just 3G.
I still have not found any LTE in ATL.
Do not get any LTE phone until you have it on your city. You are better orf with 4G than 3G speed.
-
3G speed at 4G speed. That is pretty good.
-
I would love the fast speed so I can supplement my torrent download when I am at home.
Most important is that I need the fast speed for Skype.
This speed can last me a long time.
I heard that LTE can go all the way to 100 mbps.

What app do u use to take screenshot.
I am waiting for LTE too in south ATL.

Anyone has any idea about LTE at the ATL airport and in Jonesboro?
I do get 4G with one bar at my house.
My other question is how do you get on the LTE tower? Is there a secret?
-
Atlanta airport has great 4G coverage. Even inside the moving train.
I am looking forward to LTE speed when Sprint turn it on on July 15.
-
How did you get on LTE speed?
3G speed is soooo slow on my nice HTC Evo LTE phone.

It goes from voice roaming and no 3G to LTE coverage. Now that is great news!
I toggle between 4G WiMax and LTE and the LTE has bigger coverage in HOuston.
The news is that my parent house is like on the verge of countryside and the LTE speed will be faster than his cable modem.
