  1. I have 4 bars of 3G service on my iPhone and 2 bars on LTE. At home and around my neighbourhood. Anywhere else I go I get 4-5 bars of LTE.

Be it Alki-beach, past Roxbury St., Highline, Burien, Renton, Bellevue...

I think I just live in a deadzone.

If I call Sprint and complain will they actually send a truck out here and survey White Center?

I have 15+ people willing and ready to switch but I CAN NOT recommend Sprint without 800Mhz SMR in the Seattle area.

    Which really sucks.

What do you think will arrive first, 800Mhz liberation, or 600Mhz deployment?

600Mhz is a MUST for border states.

  2. Maybe, but not right away. No current VZW devices support carrier aggregation. And as long as VZW maintains SVLTE capability, those devices likely never will support carrier aggregation. Such would just require too many simultaneous radio paths inside those devices to be practical.

So is this one of the major reasons why Sprint supports eCFSB vs. SVLTE?

It's a short-term drawback that will reap larger benefits in the long term?

  3. Why do you say UMB (otherwise known as EV-DO Rev. C) was the "best" 4g tech?

    Because:

•It was backward compatible with CMDA 1x/EV-Do, and supported SVDO from the start.

•It was the most spectrally efficient of the big three. (LTE/WiMAX/UMB)

    FROM PDF #01 BELOW:

    •Utilizes statistical multiplexing

    •Hybrid frequency reuse

    •Supports OFDM

    •Adds multi carrier support

•Rev A uses 1.25 MHz carriers, most likely 3 per user would be used for Rev B, or 3.75 MHz

•This is unique from HSPA because the carriers do not need to be adjacent

Allowing operators to combine spectrum from multiple blocks

••It's one flaw I think, was that it wasn't TDD compatible.

If I've said something incorrect, please correct me.

Maybe it's remorse for CDMA dying a slow death, but it is what I believe to be true.

  4. Will 5G implement the best qualities (or improve upon) Qualcomm CDMA?

How many versions of 5G will there be?

UMB was the best 4G tech, which was effectively stillborn from the start. (Because of VZW.)

Will this version of 5G be considerate of America's immense coverage area needs?

  5. I saw that just now, so I jumped to S4GRU to say a little something.

Looks like I'm just in time! I think that the horde of Magenta agents blind to T-Mobile's future shortcomings, and the Sprint Haters of the world will make it very difficult for us Sprint fighters/loyalists to out-speak their banshee yells when the FCC files public comments.

I'm in college, so I think I can make a well-rounded 20,000 word report/essay in support of the merger.

Even though we'll probably be outnumbered 10-01 in the number of comments that will be submitted by the public, I hope that sound reason and logic will give the FCC enough reason to allow this to happen.

  6. No on Verizon adding DO Advanced to their 3g network.

Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk

So will this allow Sprint to "compress" the amount of spectrum they use for EV-DO carriers, from three to 2, or all the way down to 1?

Can you answer this?: What is the spectrum use ratio in efficiency between EV-DO Rev A, EVDO REV. A Adv., EVDO Rev. B, and LTE release 9?

  7. Some navigation service is ending, some will require you to start paying, etc.

Looks like Sprint is continuing the trend of providing less content and evolving toward becoming a data pipe only.  What a change from the pre-Android and iPhone days...

That's a bummer, it probably means too few users use Sprint Nav. now that Google Maps is the de facto maps app for smartphones...

I loved using it on my Sprint Palm Prē, the voice lady was pleasant.

  8. You are the one being brash, not me. I am simply being forthright, issuing some calm advice.

Your breathless "frakking" questions, practically demanding answers, saying that you are "unsatisfied," etc., go over like a lead balloon in this thread and elsewhere. Honestly, your posting style is far too much like that of a problematic member who has been banned under different personas more times than I can count. If you are at all associated with that banned member, you will be banned with extreme prejudice. If not, you still need to tone it down.

    Do you understand?

    AJ

    Oh my...

I am sincerely sorry. I will make sure to reevaluate my attitude, and conduct within these yellow walls...

I'm just, exceedingly excited over this newfound haven for Sprint-ers that are insightful, welcoming, and intensly cooperative.

I'll write you an apologetic letter if you like, and i'll even write you out an essay comparing and contrasting telecom subscribers communities... I know a little bit about that.

Verizonites are pompous, arrogant, and just plain aristocratically privileged.

T-Mobile'ers are scrappy, over confident, and...

please hold for part two, I'm about to enter hospital.

  9. It is not our responsibility to satisfy you.  Your method of interrogation in The Forums will not get you very far.  If anything, members will choose not to answer your queries.

    AJ

I'm asking a simple frakking question. I'm not ranting, belittling, or name calling. The thread's subject is a direct question, not an open one. I've Googled everywhere, and no one has an answer.

Don't be so brash. I'm not here to make waves, but to learn, and contribute to this vibrant, and illuminating community.

  10. Basically any phone that has a Qualcomm MSM8960 or newer SoC will have 1X Advanced.

Snapdragon S4-onward, for those less inclined to understand techno-literacy...

But can anyone CONFIRM WITHOUT A DOUBT that 1xAdv. is being used on 1900Mhz??!

I mean, I want HD Voice, even if it is Sprint-to-Sprint only...
