  1. Was browsing the Sprints website LG G2 forum and one guy posted the update is coming March 3. Don't know how reliable that info is just wanted to pass it along.Sent from my LG G2 on the Now Network

    Wishful thinking at least

    Custom systemUI apk?

My alarm clock says 3:00 in the status bar icon no matter what it's set to. Also no handle at the top of the icon and I've never seen "Spark" even with spark speeds of 47+ down. Posted Image

  3. AppleCare is nice, just don't lose your phone. That's the only reason I don't have it.

They had me on TEP when I got my 5S. I told them I don't want it. Decided to get applecare+ anyways so I cancelled the TEP. 11$ bucks a month over 2 years wasn't worth it to me when I can get a new phone at $79 if mine is irreparably damaged, or $49 screen replacement. Both of those would have cost me 200 bucks deductible AND I have to wait for their insurance company to "approve " my claim. Pass.

That's my only fear though Device manager is the same for me. And at $11* 14 months left for full upgrade for me, comes to $155 ish. G2 still valued at around $290 for mint condition, factoring in the fact that the slightest screen crack could land me a paper weight, I just chose the easiest route for me. Mileage and preference varies.

Didn't know the claim had a yay or nay approval process. That seems shady to me, I may just cancel it down the line once the cost to benefit/risk evens out in my eyes

  4. EVDO error 67 is a data profile authentication error. I am not sure what the LTE error equivalent is, probably 114.

Usually the fix is a profile update to ensure the data on the phone matches the info on the network. You must have some sort of working internet connection to update your profile though, so if your mobile network is not working, you must connect to WiFi to update the profile on the newer phones. You can also do a ##SCRTN# (72786) to reset the phone's network settings and reprovision it, this will cause the phone to remove all the network settings, restart, and go back through the initial OTA hands-free activation again.

If your phone is hotlined or disconnected due to non-payment, suspension, etc. it will also give you an error 67 because your phone will fail to authenticate. If there is a network issue it could cause this as well.

At this particular moment there is a nationwide data issue... "1xRTT, EVDO, eHRPD, and 4G LTE data services may be failing authentication requests preventing users from accessing data services. Voice and SMS text messaging services are not impacted." So right now that may be your issue."

Possible on the network side of things. I hardly ever use data since WiFi is everywhere, though I've had provisioning errors in the past shortly after a phone swap. Nonetheless I did the profile update and haven't seen it since

  5. i did not know that. Thank you

Also can *openly* enroll in TEP when you swap also.

Didn't know it doesn't warrant an activation fee when you get a Google Play device. I've always been against activation fees on upgrades... but they're usually waived through some deal with new customers. That never sat well with me.

  6. Band 26 launch nationwide! Ha. Clearly joking

Good joke!! I wish. But when 114 error popped up for me the options were Cancel and Update Profile. Had 67 pop up after turning off airplane mode in a dead zone for pretty much everyone I know. Didn't think twice about it to be honest.

  7. Ah yeah I heard that. I wish I could flash one of the sponsor PRL's to see if there is anything being tested. I just can't figure out for the life of me how to flash a custom PRL on the Nexus 5 without spending 3 hours doing it

I haven't either for the g2. Just now figured out how to change band priority for LTE. Not enough near me to plunder into prl writing just yet though I miss 3G roaming. Was a Godsend when legacy was around here still and the phone was roam happy.

  8. Speed tests for me on B25 have been lackluster the past few weeks. Been pulling 2.3 down and 2.0 up on average, even in good signal coverage areas with multiple accepted towers. I hope Sprint can deploy another 5x5 PCS carrier in Orlando, I'm beginning to think we are having capacity issues. But then again I know we're not a complete market yet! I just hope things get better before they get worse with just the single carrier deployed.

    Also,

Out of curiosity, have there been any 1x800 spotted out in the wild in this market? I saw it once about 8 months ago but since then, nothing..

I know this isn't the exact flavor of 800 you asked about but Jacksonville thread reported LTE 800 in our market. I've used it but jumped back to LTE on 1900. That's off turn one of the Daytona International Speedway (Traffic nightmare again today.)

  9. I'm kinda looking at the trident cyclops case, I've had a trident kraken case before on a older phone and had zero problems. Has anyone used the trident on the g2? Just looking for a opinion on it.

Currently use the Cyclops in Blue. Got it for a tick over 20 off Amazon. Liking the protection over the ballistic and built in screen protector is nice.

  10. My battery life is fine but my stand by time has been horrible since the spark update.

    That's my problem, standby time.

  11. But when not receiving a text? The last text I got was.... Like two days ago.

    Possible tower jumping?

I'm like perfectly in signal edge of 3 towers and down tilt adjustments (according to Sprint) helped a tad but another tower around here wouldn't hurt. At least a repeater.

  12. OK so I'm getting tired of swipe taking for ever to come up. It's like sometimes five or more minutes and my phone seems to be moving slower like it's running out of memory. I don't get it. This phone is suppose to be fast but get allot of lag. Any ideas thanks

Never used swipe enough to know that issue with this phone but it took forever on my s4, even from first use before even installing anything

Has anyone else been noticing a higher than normal battery drain from Google Play Services? Ever since maybe Friday I've been seeing Google play Services taking up between 40-70% of my battery use and my phone has been lasting for between 15-20 hours now instead of 30-40 hours like I normally see. I figured I must have been using my phone more without thinking about it but today I have been on standby most of the morning and now 58% of my battery is gone in only 7 hours.

Yes I have and it got on my nerves. Best bet is don't factory reset. It did nothing for me. I've read the updates usually settle back to normal in about 2-4 days

Yes. My battery Sunday night was at 95% when I went to bed. I woke up it was at 36%. I thought that was strange considering I wasn't streaming any music overnight.

My overnight drain went from 2% (quiet mode, battery saver disables every possible check box available, data off since I'm a LTE1900 CDMA 1900 fringe area) to about 24% biggest user is always Google Play Services. GSAM says it woke my phone more than the usual I see.

Another recent development, I can no longer locate my G2 in android device manager. Anyone else noticed this? Wasn't happening until after this Play Services update. Factory reset to no avail.
