The Wilson Sleek 4G (813426) covers 1850-1995 MHz. That should cover block G, no?

I'm wondering if any GMO sites in Alabama have gone live with LTE yet...There are 2 GMO's near me still waiting on LTE with 3G NV updates finished...and been finished for several months now...since we're nearing the end of..what, 3rd round now?
Unless Sprint finally tuned the Adamsville site Graysville's (Corridor X & Old Hwy 78) site appears to be in progress, picked up 4G driving through this morning. Never got it within several miles of there before.

Maybe if you're in a market where LTE is widely available. I know that sometimes while driving, I'll pick up a LTE signal from a site (I know where that site is from the sponsor map) but the voice connection will say it's connected to a closer site.
I haven't experienced that myself, in my experience LTE will drop sooner than voice and reconnect after switching to voice on another site. Could be an issue of terrain and obstacles here. I suppose your results will vary on many factors if you are trying to find a 4G site with Signal Check Pro, what works for some may not work for others.

For anyone who cares. Here at this site https://simonics.com/gvgw/ you can setup a sip account to use Google voice calling thru the native sip client in android. It works very well over WiFi. Never really tried it over LTE or cellular data. Its VoIP.

I believe I read something about Google killing all third party support for GV sometime this spring, that might not be around too much longer.
-
That's the location of the voice connection, not data.
Which unless you are in a Spark market or connected to 800 voice should still be accurate most of the time for the data site.
Edit: Or if you have tight tower spacing I suppose but that is definitely not an issue where I am.

17 inch w/ 16:10 ratio.
I can go up to 300 total.
23 inches but 16:9 ratio. $130 each.

I am up for an upgrade. Is the LG G2 good or should I wait for the next really killer hardware overkill device? Like a good camera and sound quality would be nice too. Found out that HTC is still good cosmetically but they appear to have dropped hardware quality since the first EVO. shame, I kinda liked that line. My work phone is a Samsung s3, The sound is really good. external speaker and earpiece, Just a pointer in the right direction or some new thing that i may have missed looking over reviews. LG G2 looked nice in the overall department but I can wait if there is gonna be one with better reception in the LTE department. just looking for my next 2 year contract. Thanks in advance.

The G2 has much better LTE reception than the Evo as does the Nexus 5 but I personally wouldn't waste what is probably your last subsidy on the N5.

good thing the billing system is automated and has nothing to do with notes on your account. When switching to Framily, it's not like the reps add the $15/month fee or not. It just happens or it doesn't, based on a script.
Good to know Koi, as always good info.

I shouldn't have to strike up deals for affordable cell service. If I wasnt an existing customer it would be as simple as getting on Google and finding a code.If you are paying 75 you aren't doing framily right. I've seen people strike up deals with people in the lobby while waiting.

Besides, Sprint won't waive the $15 fee for me. They even admit I meet the requirements but here I sit with 2 notes on my account saying not to waive it.

Not really a big deal so long as they adjust their service pricing accordingly.
Which they haven't done. Before my corporate discount a single line framily would save me $5 but cost me my subsidized phone. In actuality this is a rate hike if subsidies are lost.
-
Still have that issue of texting though. Curious to see how this will work since you will need a CDMA signal.
No idea how they have it working but the screenshot does say the ability to text over wifi.

I have a feeling that whomever you talked to was, ah, not trained properly.
One line on Framily with Unlimited Data and no phone financing would be $75, vs the $79.99 of Everything Data 450. If you only want 3 GB, it's $65, and 1 GB, it's $55. The only way it's more expensive is to add a phone financing option on top.
The $15/month fee is only for customers who switch to Framily and have received a subsidized upgrade on or after 1/10/2014. If your last upgrade was before that, feel free to switch and not get charged the fee.
No, the opposite in fact. Anyone who has used a subsidized upgrade more than 6 months ago is immediately eligible for Easy Pay to start a new phone subsidy.
Thanks Koi, good info. I may try chat again tomorrow and see if I get somebody a little better trained. I really do not like going to my nearest store so I'm trying to avoid that.

Apparently chat can change people to the Framily Plan. I asked her to compare the cost of the Framily Plan to my current plan (ED 450) and she informed me that I was on the best plan for having only 1 line on my account right now. Her reasoning was the $15 fee that she insisted I was not eligible to have waived. She also felt the need to place a note on my account explaining this. Needless to say I did not let her change my plan.
By the way, people can now switch to Framily + Easy Pay and get a new phone if you've had a phone for at least 6 months, no giveback required.
This is just for people that were on One Up right?
-
I was on the 1500 shared plan. The one where you're charged 10 dollars premium data. Don't know if I was trottled.
I feel like a 2nd class citizen now.
I don't believe throttling was in the T&C for those plans. But I haven't heard of anyone getting throttled on the new plans either, I assume they needed to throw that in to keep the network usable if it becomes more crowded in the future.

I hope we can do this online but so far the website is pushing folks to head to a store..not happening here.
It was mentioned a few pages back that somebody was able to switch over the phone. I'm with you, my closest store is a third party store and they are generally less than competent.
-
Right now I would love to jump in and could easily find 6 other people/lines to go with me: 1 would be switching to Sprint from a mvno, the other 5 are already on their own Sprint contracts.
If I understand properly, those 5 who already use Sprint are not eligible to join my Framily. I hope Sprint opens up a way for existing customers to merge with others, as that is the only way I can see getting onto this. I'm not too interested in porting my # out and then back in as a new customer, that is a lot of trouble and there are a lot of people not savoy enough to do it.
Hmmm port out to T-Mo and let them pay the ETF then join a Framily? I wonder if T-Mobile will accept any old phone as part of that promotion.
-
Correct, it is 100% unlocked.
Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
Well other than the fact that Sprint prevent's it's MVNO's who would otherwise activate a Nexus 5 from activating it.
-
I see people are having trouble making the switch in store. Why oh why does Sprint not allow the plan change online? Do they expect people to buy an overpriced accessory during there store visit?
-
Existing customers cannot join another existing framily group. You could start one and add new customers. Please correct me if I somehow got it wrong but it's been said in this thread a few times not only by me.
Sent from my SPH-L900
You are correct unfortunately. From the FAQ:
- Customer can be assigned to a new Framily group or join a Framily group on the customer's existing account that has not reached the 10 line maximum. The line cannot join with groups outside of the customer's existing account.
Looks like no framily for me. No way I can talk 6 people into switching over to Sprint. I tried to talk a disgruntled AT&T subscriber into looking at Sprint and she asked "Does Sprint still exist?" and moved onto VZW without batting an eye.
-
If any of you guys are going to do this I wouldn't mind hopping on a group of at least 7. That way I can get a Sim card and put it in my Nexus 5 and try out the network for a few months.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I wouldn't mind jumping in a group that will be 7+ on here either. One question though, is the pricing on this dynamic? If somebody leaves the "framily" does the price adjust accordingly or is it set for a certain period of time? I'm guessing that it will adjust which could potentially screw framily members still on the plan.

Works great on my Nexus 5 using the instructions I posted above.
If you have the newest APK would you be willing to share it? I have found a few APK's on XDA but they aren't very recent.

CSFB issues fixed in Birmingham, AL along with the Alabama market launch. And wow are Sprint's coverage maps generous.

It looks like those of us in SoutherLinc's coverage area will get some 800 love after all. Sponsor map showing some green!

Well that is why you do it as soon as you get the phone before you log in and get it all set up.
Well yes but I'm assuming he didn't just get the phone today so it's something he probably want's to know.

So it would seem that Ericsson finally installed at least one new carrier card in Birmingham, AL and I get 1x voice in my basement office (concrete building.) I have no idea what they did on the site visit but at the same time I notice 1x voice in my office I notice no 4G outside. I drove to the tower I suspect the 1x is coming from and I know that the 4G at my work was coming from and surprise surprise no 4G there either. I love you Ericsson
