  1. Yeah, my home tower in Big Bend is the same issue. GMO and not turned on. Lucky I am surrounded by other towers with 4g that I am now able to get very decent speed from. From my visual observations this GMO tower is 4g ready, but who knows when they will flip the switch. It is the only tower for many miles that is not 4g active.
  2. Revising my previous statement, it looks like just the National Ave I-43 tower is active, and the Big Bend tower is still sitting at 3g. This active tower on National and Racine Ave is one of the highest towers around here (compared to the elevation surrounding) and the coverage is excellent for miles.. My home is about 3 mi away and I get 4g though almost all of the house from 105-117 dBm. 4-8mb down just a little less up. Don't be surprised if you pick up decent 4g from even further away, before this other tower ever kicked in I was getting 4g from towers miles away (5-6) and reasonably decent speeds too....
  3. Good day today for southern Waukesha. I appears they have turned on 4g for the Big Bend GMO tower and the Racine Ave 1-43 tower. You should be able to experience good 4g up and down 1-43 Rock FWY now. Not certain of the Calhoun/ New Berlin tower, but someone else may know. I fully expected the Muskego West tower to be turned on also, but not today....
  4. Confirmed 4g active on the 1-43 and Mooreland water tower. Thought for sure they would turn on the Racine Ave I-43 with it, but not yet. Got 27 down and 10mb up...
  5. I have not had that experience yet, but as little as I understand this once towers are marked complete for a service (800/4g etc) the phone appears to need the update for it to properly receive. (Samsung S4) This is my only explanation for the 800 falling off on these 4 towers on Monday only to return immediately after my update today.
  6. You are correct, the tower on 124 and Beloit is broadcasting LTE. I drove around New Berlin today and was able to get a signal from that tower down Mooreland and around National. Didn't waste my time going all the way down Beloit as the LTE signal was getting stronger every block I drove past Sunnyslope on Beloit. I drove right past both the Calhoun/Cleveland and Rock Freeway 1-43 water towers and neither of them are live LTE yet. No Muskego West yet either. Lesson for everyone out there. UPDATE PRL EVERY DAY. My 1-800 voice disappeared Monday after a week of straight 800 signal, and all returned as soon as I updated my PRL this morning. These towers in question became 3g/800 complete as of a day or two ago. Strange how some of the towers go from nothing to LTE and some take these baby steps to LTE.
  7. Maybe someone could shed some light on the 4g progression we have going on in southern Waukesha county for me. All the towers surrounding the College Ave Muskego 4g (active) tower have been 1 x 800 solid for about a week (some longer) and now they are all back to 1 RTT, since Monday. The active 4g tower on College does not transmit 1 x 800 voice but has LTE on full time. Is my expectation that these surrounding towers will (Maybe) start LTE shortly correct? Not sure how normal 4g testing occurs on these towers but I am getting anxious since I have been able to enjoy 5 minutes a day on LTE in Southern Muskego as I pass through. Still am getting much better 3g speeds in a portion of these towers marked 3g complete, but not all of them. Just curious and thought someone out there might know.
  8. 1 x 800 is on full time today for the remaining towers around the Muskego Tess corners 4g tower. Muskego West water tower, Mooreland road I-43, National Ave I-43, Calhoun and Cleveland water tower. Not certain my Vernon tower is as I am always locked on the I-43 tower at home, but LTE should be the next step.. hopefully sooner then later. I have been 1 x 800 all day today on Muskego West.
  9. I know for certain, as I reported earlier, that the tower on the East side of Muskego has been live LTE every morning since Monday. Weather or not it is live through the day I cannot say but I suspect it is. The tower on National and Racine above 1- 43 has pretty much been solid 1 x800 for a week or so now, but no LTE yet. I did also pick up 1 x 800 from the Calhoun tower handed off from the 1x 800 National Ave tower yesterday. I am not certain if the Moorland Road and I-43 tower has been testing at all, but I may be headed that way tomorrow.
  10. LTE live in Muskego. South tower on College near Janesville. I don't have the patience to figure out how to get pics in my posts right now but my first speed test was 17mg d 10mg up, and my 2nd was 22mg d 6.9 up... The West side of Muskego is not live with LTE yet, although this is the first time I am getting 1 x 800 off the water tower so I assume it is coming soon. Please let me know if the Mooreland 1-43 or Calhoun tower has done anything. I also did not get LTE from the 1-43 National Ave Rock Fwy tower today either, but that has been a consistent 1 x 800 for about 4 days now.
  11. I think its very likely this is what is happening with the Vernon high power lines. When I compared the photos for the GMO on this site I noticed the Samsung cabinets matching. I didn't get out of the car so next time I am going to try and see if I can find the ground RRU's. I do know the Samsung programmer was out there and this tower is on the NV upgrade map so we will see.....
  12. I used two separate apps and they both are listing the network tower in the general area of where the Sprint tower is on Hwy 67 just off of 59 in Mukwonago.. I seems crazy that I am picking up 4g from that distance, but it has been confirmed by both LTE discovery and open signal. It is miles away, maybe its not right but the signal is very weak at best. It also looks like it is 3g only on the map so who knows...
  13. Solid 1x800 signal (from the Rock FWY 1-43 National Ave tower in New Berlin) at home for the last couple of days now. Getting a very weak 4g upstairs from at tower miles West in the Mukwonago area but it is hard to hold. Cannot wait till these local towers get 4g turned on.
  14. Interesting, does 3g complete have anything to do with NV antenna finished also? Or is it possible to get that with just the lower part done. I am quite certain the High Power line tower in Big Bend/Vernon has no NV antenna on top of the tower. Maybe they snuck them in on me.. have not been past that in a week or two.. The strange thing is the 2nd last time I was out there the Samsung Programmer was parked under the tower. I thought that weird since there was no NV antenna up top.... Any help here?
  15. I want to say the LTE equipment has been on that tower for several months now.. . I have not been around that tower in a couple of days but I suspect it is transmitting 1 x 800 today...please check by downloading the latest version of LTE discovery from the play store. The reason I say this is today the tower down the road on College and about Tess in Muskego was transmitting 1 x 800 but no LTE and the tower on National Ave just off of Racine Ave (Rock Freeway tower) is also transmitting 1 x 800 but I was on the phone at the time and assume this also is not active LTE. The I-43 tower on Mooreland I have no idea either, but I suspect it may be running 800 also. The strange thing is I again started picking up LTE on the Muskego West water tower off of Racine and Janesville even earlier at my home in Vernon last night. It started around 5:00, but today I am again at work today not more then a 1/2mile away and it has neither 1 x 800 or LTE so I guess I am not sure what is going on except the NV network around here is clearly ready to be active soon. And in regards to the speed and signal, I was never able to hold a great signal coming down the hill into Muskego on Racine and today I was on hold with a merchant and saw my signal strength and voice quality stay solid that entire way. I was on the 1 x800 tower from I-43 the whole time. Also, right now the EVDO data from the water tower off of Racine is giving me 2.1mg down and just under 1mg up. Not Bad.. the good stuff is coming....
  16. Actually, the I-43 tower never had the old panels on the neck of the water tower, they are/were on top and I have no idea if they are still there since they were hard to make out to begin with. (Painted white like everything else on top.) That makes me curious though, I need to look back at the Muskego West tower (that Is testing 4g overnight right now) to see if they left the old panels up. I am fairly certain that the Muskego East (College) tower still has the old ones up with the new NV antenna. I go past that thing every day. You are right though, look at the current accepted sites and you will realize that southern Waukesha is left out in the cold... hopefully this overnight testing for LTE is going on in more then just the Muskego West Water tower and they will all light up soon....
  17. Does anyone have thoughts on how long from overnight LTE testing to full on live usually takes.? From all I can tell this site has is not broadcasting 1x800 either. Not sure how that has been taking in the Milwaukee market.
  18. At work today, no more then 1/2 from the Racine Ave Muskego water tower and no more LTE. Drove all around this both sides of Muskego this morning with no alarms. Guess this was an overnight test, we will see what happens tonight. Last test at my home in Vernon was 8.1mg down and 5.12 up, pretty impressive for a tower located 4 + miles away.
  19. Thanks for clearing that up for me... I went to my LTE Discovery app this morning and was able to capture 2 sites in GPS coordinates. My assumption is by using Google Maps that my 1st hit was the 164 59 Waukesha LTE which I know has been around for a while, strangely though I have never connected before.... Here is the better news, the 2nd and 3rd were from the Muskego tower in the industrial park off of Racine Ave. Neither of these would be consider close to me though (approx. live where the 164 and 1-43 closed down Mobil station is in Vernon) and I am unable to keep the 4g signal on the main floor of my home. My hope here is the remaining towers in my area start to go live as I am only about 3 miles from the Racine And National tower that had been broadcasting 1x800 for a week or so now. Looks like the southern Waukesha county area is finally going to see some activity, please let me know if anyone around here is seeing similar. I will be doing some driving around today..
  20. Been holding 4g for 10min now. Last test 7.4mg down 1mg up. Sigcheck still shows wales tower 9 mi away. Is signal check pretty accurate on tower location? I have never gotten 4g at my home until tonight
  21. 4g lit up on my 2nd floor in Vernon. Signalcheck pro shows wales tower on hwy 18 and 83. I am about 9mi away. Has this tower been 4g for a while? Seems like a long ways away. I test 6.5mg down crappy up. I will test again and update..
  22. Yeah, that was me... taking information from 2 antenna installers at two separate sites it sounds like the High Power towers require special attention. (no real surprise) One told me work often has to be scheduled way ahead of time and the window of time they have to complete is very small, another said the will often do the work at night as WE Energies has to bring power down on the lines. I am not familiar with this process at all, but most they said seems to make sense. So we hang... Vernon, Delafield ... and others I am sure... I have a nice tower right down the road that has room... USE IT
  23. The closest real information I have is from a Samsung Programmer that was at the Muskego( Racine Ave) water tower about 2 weeks ago. He told me twice to look at the end of November. That was in response to the direct question of when the tower was going to be lit with 4g... so take it for what its worth, but at least it come from somebody who may have some knowledge in the matter...
  24. If you don't think driving bay a tower at 65mph and sitting still make a difference in what speeds you may get, you have not been paying attention to your phone. The 3g in that area of New Berlin has been faster then just about any surrounding area 3g towers, but clearly better when not moving as would be the same for just about anywhere. I don't get down below 124th much, but like I have had said many times, I would have changed carriers a long time ago if I had to deal with the nearly non-existent speeds in the General Southern Milwaukee County area. Southern Waukesha county has always had decent 3g, mostly because I assume there are far fewer users per tower then say a City like West Allis. I was comparing a EVO 4g to the Samsung S4 and the speeds have been almost always better where I spend the majority of my time.
