  1. Well, despite how bad the network is in Fresno, I was still able to use Apple Maps to get someone directions. And there were times that I wondered if I'd get any data, but in the end it was better than I expected. PS, I was at the fairgrounds all day.

I must admit that the 3g at the fairgrounds is really good, I was totally able to use the phone last year when we went to the fair, both indoors and out and it was very crowded! Close to 2.0 mbs.

  2. I am currrently on vm and the customer service is useless but the price and the plan can't be beat by anyone. Was in the Anaheim area this past week where they do have lte and it was great! not sure what's up in Seattle, Sprint may not have gotten network vision done there not unlike Fresno where I live.

VM doesn't currently have a spark device but they did announce a WiFi device that is coming soon. Rumors are that Virgin and Boost are going to be rebranded as Sprint Freedom, so no big change there.

  3. Visited a family member that lives by Chaplain and Perin in Fresno (woodward park area). Inside the house I was roaming on Verizon. I dont remember it being the case before. Ate up my battery

Got a good speed test down by Shields and 1st, 4pm too.

Failed speed test out by Clinton and Marks. 1 bar.

Ill be up at China Peak tomorrow. Ill see if I catch some service. Last time I was there only the iphone in our group had a bar (roaming), and only when the wind was aligned in a certain direction, while Saturn was on a certain axis.

Yep, Fresno is still kind of spastic but definitely better overall. You can usually stream Spotify most anywhere with a couple rare cutouts here and there. Mostly at least data of some sort and for some reason I've never had many dropped calls (like 2 or 3 in five years). Believe it or not data used to be way, way worse, couldn't use navigation hardly anwywhere in town and couldn't pull up a map for anything in most spots. Much, much better. Indoors can still be iffy though but I think it's a problem on all carriers.

  4. WOW! Yeah, it would be great to know what the source of the holdup is, They have been working on the tower nearest my house fairly regularly (and twice in the last week). They have left a lift there for the past two weeks as though they are waiting for something. They are up there a lot yet no real change in service (although it is way more consistent than it was early last summer and before). There used to be fairly regular periods of 1x coverage with really slow 3g in between but lately it's been pretty steady and near 1mbs most of the day. It switched over to EHRPD as have the one's I connect to in Fresno regularly. So I've seen some progress but still no LTE.

  5. My experience in Fresno is the speeds vary sporadically at times, sometimes decent and often horrible, even on the same tower, just depends as I drive the same route everyday. I will say I haven't had spotify lockup in about a month so there's at least enough signal to keep it going but it sometimes takes awhile to get started where I work at Fresno St. and Ashlan and it's virtually non-existent indoors in that area. Thankfully there's ample wifi!
