Well, despite how bad the network is in Fresno, I was still able to use Apple Maps to get someone directions. And there were times that I wondered if I'd get any data, but in the end it was better than I expected. PS, I was at the fairgrounds all day.
Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
I must admit that the 3g at the fairgrounds is really good, I was totally able to use the phone last year when we went to the fair, both indoors and out and it was very crowded! Close to 2.0 mbs.

The only time we've gotten wimax was at courthouse park downtown. Worked well there but that's it. Surrounding vicinity... not so much (my wife has an EVO). Works well in LA and parts of the bar area though.

CONGRATS MADERA! Really feel like I'm on an island of 3g now. :'( but glad to see progress all around!
-
In my defense I was trying to open an email attachment and getting a wopping .027 mbs. Has been way better than that most of the time but right at the moment.... GRRRRR!!!!!
-
Yes I actually was only 15 minutes ago screaming" flip the F******** Switch already" at the tower by my house. LOL!
-
Oh, how embarrasing for us here in Fresno / Clovis who are now seeming to be in an islad of 3G (except for maybe Madera). LOL!
CONGRATS BAKO! -
unofrtunately I guess it was just a normal outage, signal is back to about what it's been the past few months which is better than most of Fresno (around 1.0mbs downloads) but compared to the LTE I was getting last week in Anaheim, uhmmm... I want LTE!

Still no data at Clovis and ashlan. Voice is good though. At work in Fresno today data seemed normal (which is bad but semi usable).
-
Had almost no data signal at my house today, could this be a sign of good things to come? The nearest tower has been upgraded and 3g speeds had been pretty good until this morning when it basically went to barely on 3g or 1x. I am in Clovis near Ashlan and Clovis. Hopefully not just a normal outage.

Drove through Bakersfield today and got nothing.

I am currrently on vm and the customer service is useless but the price and the plan can't be beat by anyone. Was in the Anaheim area this past week where they do have lte and it was great! not sure what's up in Seattle, Sprint may not have gotten network vision done there not unlike Fresno where I live.
VM doesn't currently have a spark device but they did announce a WiFi device that is coming soon. Rumors are that Virgin and Boost are going to be rebranded as Sprint Freedom, so no big change there.

Currently in the area also. Disneyland is so so for me on lte but california adventure largely bas great coverage. Was also able to upload videos from the incredibly crowded convention center which in the past you couldnt even get email. Amazing improvements!
-
Currently in Disneyland but this lte here is pretty impressive in the park. My videos and pictures uploaded like a breeze. Ran three speed tests and so far so good. I'm surprised that it works this well on such a crowded area.
Currently on the nexus 5 but haven't picked up lte 2500.

WOW! That's pretty cool! Yet to get seeds like that, even after a trip to the Bay Area a couple weeks ago.
Yet the middle of the Mendota Slough? LOL!

Visited a family member that lives by Chaplain and Perin in Fresno (woodward park area). Inside the house I was roaming on Verizon. I dont remember it being the case before. Ate up my battery
Got a good speed test down by Shields and 1st, 4pm too.
Failed speed test out by Clinton and Marks. 1 bar.
Ill be up at China Peak tomorrow. Ill see if I catch some service. Last time I was there only the iphone in our group had a bar (roaming), and only when the wind was aligned in a certain direction, while Saturn was on a certain axis.
Yep, Fresno is still kind of spastic but definitely better overall. You can usually stream Spotify most anywhere with a couple rare cutouts here and there. Mostly at least data of some sort and for some reason I've never had many dropped calls (like 2 or 3 in five years). Believe it or not data used to be way, way worse, couldn't use navigation hardly anwywhere in town and couldn't pull up a map for anything in most spots. Much, much better. Indoors can still be iffy though but I think it's a problem on all carriers.

WOW! Yeah, it would be great to know what the source of the holdup is, They have been working on the tower nearest my house fairly regularly (and twice in the last week). They have left a lift there for the past two weeks as though they are waiting for something. They are up there a lot yet no real change in service (although it is way more consistent than it was early last summer and before). There used to be fairly regular periods of 1x coverage with really slow 3g in between but lately it's been pretty steady and near 1mbs most of the day. It switched over to EHRPD as have the one's I connect to in Fresno regularly. So I've seen some progress but still no LTE.

Same here, had been, mane wend back to cdma yesterday as well?
-
I think they have been working on this one off and on since September.
-
Clovis and Ashkan again! WOW! They've been up there alot.
-
My experience in Fresno is the speeds vary sporadically at times, sometimes decent and often horrible, even on the same tower, just depends as I drive the same route everyday. I will say I haven't had spotify lockup in about a month so there's at least enough signal to keep it going but it sometimes takes awhile to get started where I work at Fresno St. and Ashlan and it's virtually non-existent indoors in that area. Thankfully there's ample wifi!
-
Yes, I was as at Riverpark yesterday, think there were just way too many people (LOL!). Getting coverage like it is at Disneyland.
It would connect very sporadically and then drop again. Definitely no improvement in that area!
-
Yes seen that in Clovis also, late into the night and on weekends.Gotta say they're trying!
-
I am now showing EHRPD instead of CDMA, I am getting this in my neighborhood in Clovis and also along Ashlan in Fresno (east of the 41). That's as far as I've gotten this week.
Is this a good sign or still just a prelude to LTE at some point?
This started about 2 days ago.
-
Probably still 90 days away in Fresno? Hope not but ....

Definintely when I can (My schedule gets insane at times).
They've been digging around the Clovis and Dakota tower this week btw, not sure if that's a good thing or a problem?
I suppose if they're working on it, it's a good thing?
