  1. I don't know if anyone knows for sure, but LTE 800 is supposed to start deployment in the 4th quarter of this year, and Sprint was talking about LTE 2600 on phones later this year as well. It may be that both bands are built into phones at the same time, or LTE 2600 could be reserved for flagships first and then added to mid range phones later.

It's also possible the first devices will simply be USB data sticks or hot spot type devices. . With phones showing up late this year or early next, as those new networks are a bit more pervasive.

  2. They're always pretty quiet in the first part of the year. That said, you already know at least a handful of high profile device that are coming including the next HTC Android flagship, Samsung Galaxy S IV and the next coming of the Jesus Phone. Add to that the two Windows Phone devices were talked about at CES, and then there's always the dying gasp from BlackBerry. Lots of things on the horizon.

  3. Anybody hear anymore information? Unfortunately it doesn't look to be coming soon. I found this on the "Bring Sprint LTE to Seattle" facebook page written from the horse's mouth. To sum it up...they state work has not started in West Washington yet. Sorry for the bad news. http://m.facebook.com/WeWantSprint4gLteInSeattle?id=412498305489549&refsrc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FWeWantSprint4gLteInSeattle&_rdr#!/story.php?story_fbid=430176217055091&id=412498305489549&refid=17

Doesn't mean anything. Customer service and retail store agents are pretty much the last to know anything. Some will speculate based on what they see or hear from customers, but most tow the official line that there is no concrete information regarding the launch of LTE in Seattle. Some customer will be the first to know as they see the 4G icon pop in and out, then Sprint will officially announce Seattle, and finally agents who read their updates will know the launch is coming.

  4. I run into this constantly when I need to change devices at work. The site has never been very friendly when it comes to swapping between device types (incl WiMax to LTE). It's a shame they apparently can't be bothered to fix the site and make it customer friendly.

  5. Can't wait. I'm going Windows Phone... LOL

No doubt Apple will go after them eventually, IF Windows Phone ever starts claiming significant market share.

  6. We'll probably see a 10 inch tablet at some point. And we'll definitely see a phone around October. That would be a year after the last release.

Lol, unless they get sued to block the release. Can't have any competition for the next coming of the Jesus Phone.

  7. This idiot judge is just fueling the fire. Maybe Apple can go patent using rechargeable batteries in phones.

It would go well with Apple's apparent patent of rectangular slabs with rounded corners.

  8. Since Google just announced Jelly Bean along with the Nexus 7 and the Q at their show, what is the likelihood we will still a new Nexus phone this year?

  9. If they do release this Motorola handset with the qwerty, I hope they have a second device waiting in the wings without. I gave up the physical keyboard when I switched from the Motorola Q to the original EVO and haven't looked back having test driven the Photon and currently the E4GT. While I would be interested to see a true follow up to the Photon, but won't give it a second glance if it has a physical keypad.

  10. If the EVO LTE is making its way to market in the late May/June timeframe, and the next Jesus Phone is coming in October, it seems the next window for a new device would likely be July/August (about one year after the SGS2).

  11. I'm really tempted to go for the pre-order, but curiosity regarding the Sprint SGS3 and the unknown of when LTE will actually be available in Seattle (I know it's a second rounder) have me second guessing. Where I live and work I have a full strength WiMax signal and I'm not crazy about going back to 3G only for an unknown period of time.

    Decisions, decisions...

  12. Or I could be cynical and say Sprint wants to clean out Wimax inventory with the Nexus LTE and Evo LTE coming.

This wouldn't surprise me a bit. It's time to flush those devices out of the system and make way for the supposed 15 LTE devices that will grace the shelves in the back half.
