  1. Yea the comments are unnecessary.. You guys are adults, you have the internet, you can figure it out.. Sprint isn't a charity and Sprint doesn't deserve any charity.. They are a business so do business with them based on educated decisions or don't.

The FCC tried to use Sprint as it's pet project and it didn't work. It's not Sprint's fault you, your friend, or the CEO's of any other company couldn't have done any better. When the FCC says deploy 2500mhz nationwide by 2008 or lose your spectrum there is no room for debate. LTE wasn't ready they had no choice. Sprint broke the FCCs promise not theirs. Then on top of that they are forced to keep a whole nationwide network of 2G only brick dumbphones going in the iPhone and Android age. Sprint should be being auctioned off by now. If you can get better bang for your buck leave, no one here would even blame you. But complaining with unrealistic demands is annoying and ridiculous . Sprint beat the landline monopolies back in the day, was the first to 2G, 3G, 4G, and is deploying the world's most advanced network nationwide at the same time. If you want better than that you must be willing to pay for it, so go to Verizon and tack on an extra $15-50 bucks a month so can be satisfied...

Sprint LTE launch market connection issues

Good article.. This is the difference between negative observations/ constructive criticism and a rant. This helps me make informed decisions because it is level headed clear and well thought out. I just disregard rants because there is no way to verify how much is fact or exaggeration.

  2. It's ridiculous.. People speak without spending 10 seconds to look up the facts..

I wondered why the WiMax deployment stopped literally 1 mile from my house in So Cal. The reality of the matter is that Sprint, T-Mo, VZW, and AT&T operate much differently than Apple and Microsoft. The FCC just canceled AT&T and VZW's big spectrum grabs.

When Sprint bought Nextel the conditions on spectrum use were HEAVY. Sprint was forced to go Wimax and everyone knew back then that LTE was going to be the standard. If Sprint would have waited on for LTE they would have lost all of their 2500mhz spectrum. Sprint single-handedly almost made WiMax a competing standard which is commendable. LTE radios and chipsets barely caught up to Wimax recently. I'm sure you all remember the first round of terrible VZW Lte phones.

And then Sprint is forced to keep iDen running on top of that. They were literally forced by the gov't to run not one but two obsolete networks (Wimax is obsolete from a handset component standpoint) for YEARS instead of saving money and planning an LTE buildout.

Sprint was the first to 2, 3, and 4G; and again they are setting the standard with NV. But on the other hand we don't owe Sprint anything but the contract we signed, so if you can get a better deal somewhere else I'd suggest going.. Fast.. But endless ranting isn't warranted it's like people want Sprint to BK; when Sprint has been pushing cutting edge technology and low prices more than anyone that's the last thing they want.

  3. Understood. There is a third option. You can go ahead and move up to a LTE device and get a WiMax MiFi. You keep it with you and use it during those times when the 3G is unusable. There are a few people doing this now.Robert

Thanks I plan on donating soon just because you guys are so passionate about helping out..

But I may go the mifi route.. This is a tough choice because GSM coverage sucks in So Cal T-mobile is ok but WiMax is wayyy better than HSPA in my experience. And VZW is completely evil so I wouldn't feel comfortable signing 2 years with them. Maybe Ill get a GS2 this summer and see how long I can stretch it.. Thanks!

  4. Tough Pill to swallow... I don't know if I can wait a year for decent 4g coverage on Sprint.. When I ALREADY have decent 4G coverage on Sprint.. It's either leave or jump on the GS2 and ride WiMax for another year which isn't bad but the GS2 is almost a year old already..

Edit: Man I just pulled 8200 down and 1400 up in Anaheim indoors not by any windows... I can't go back to 3G
