  1. I finally had time to take the trip up to Clintonville...

Good news and bad news... The LTE that is mapped in Clintonville is non-existent. It was roaming from Cellcom and US Cellular of that stretch.

However, I held onto 1x800 far beyond what I expected and many miles farther than what the voice maps state.

On my way though I saw multiple places where a "possible" site "could" go.

that stretch needs a site it two. Been thru there many times.

  2. I've heard numerous complaints about call quality and dropped calls before, but never experienced it until recently.

If there was one thing I learned about the Note 4/Edge recently is that the call quality/durability sucked. Mind you, I never noticed it before since I hardly ever call. I'm mostly data consuming, texting, etc. And when I did call, it was very brief. But when i was trying to get the LG G Flex 2 activated and on my family plan i had to call in to support to get it done since the ID was not in the system yet. I used my Note Edge at first , I was on the phone numerous times for hours and not because the process took long, but because the call would drop continuously (and usually at the worst time just when they were about to get it done). I switched over to the Note 4 and the same thing.

I don't know if an software update would fix it or not, but if it is fixable via an update, knowing that this update has not fixed it is disappointing.

I have the note edge and hate the call drops. With I would never hehe gotten this phone.

  3. As an update regarding my questions regarding the Edge:

Went to two Sprint stores over the weekend. Both talked me out of getting an Edge. The reasons the reps listed were: a large amount of issues with dropped calls in the region being reported as well as hardware issues with the side screen and overheating in some instances. One store had Edge stock, the other didn't.

I did, though, get a Note 4 and am very happy with the purchase. Where my LG G2 was very spotty with LTE coverage - and voice coverage - the Note 4 has no issues.

I was also considering an LG G3, but while I was in one of the stores I was speaking with a customer that lives a block over from me that has a G3 and was experiencing the same issues I was with the G2. She was returning the G3 and looking at other options when I walked out with my Note 4.

Just giving a heads up as to my experiences over the weekend.

    Thx much,

    Terry

I thought the dropped calls was with the network here. I go thru a ton of dropped calls. I have no problem with over heating. Maybe with the next update will fix that.

  4. Quick question for you folks that have the Edge:

I occasionally have some issues with LTE switching back and forth to 3G with my LG G2 - likely due to some spotty coverage. How is the radio performance working with this in spotty areas in comparison with other phones you've had - especially if you've had a G2, etc. I'm still trying to determine whether to go with the Edge or the G3...

it's on par with the s5

  6. B41 is popping up all over in Appleton now... :D

The Kohls on Northland and the Fox River Mall in the food court are just a few. They have really made a lot of progress here this year. Once the rest of North Wisconsin gets all towers to at least one band of LTE, Sprint is going to ROCK!

I've already impressed a few Verizon customers on B41 when all they could get was 3G... ;)

but no B41 up in Wausau yet. I believe that only two towers got LTE this year so far. But once they do the optimization on the network here should really be good.

    LG G3

So randomly at 1am this morning my G3 decided to play some of the music that comes with the phone on the stock music player. I mean just started playing, I've never used the stock player. Kinda weird but really didn't wanted to get woken up that early.

  7. I'm trying to save my friends some money and see if Sprint is a good option for them in the Appleton area. There are two people that would consider going on the Framily plan but I don't want to steer them wrong and have them get bad coverage. One person is one block east of North Washington and East 1st St. The other is right by the Fox River Mall. I've checked coverage maps, but personal experience is always better. How is it looking around there?

most of not all of Appleton has lte and the service is getting better.
