  1. I am hoping that once NV is complete, the coverage holes in the current service area will disappear. For me, I get Sprint service just about anywhere I go, but it's the constant edge of service issue while driving that bothers me. You watch the bars decrease until you drop down to 1x RTT with zero bars and then back up constantly. My call quality is great, 3G has become a beast in reliability and speed, so once 800 mhz SMR and whatever small cells are added, I can see service being killer.

  2. I know its not a direct comparison but or me personally I compare TMo's 2.5 gb plan to Sprints unlimited plan (Sprints 1gb isn't enough for me). So that makes TMo $480 better for 24 months am then if I keep my phone its extra savings from there. Like I said its not really a fair comparison but that's how I do it.I still run a sprint phone and my wife and daughter run TMo. Personally I can't wait to switch. I have been with sprint since 1998 but I always end up tethering to my daughters phone so that I have usable data.

Won't be able to tether that much... Isn't it only 500 megs tethering on T-Mobile? Plus that cap.. I can hit 2.5 gigs pretty easily on 3G.

  3. That would explain why it is taking so long to upgrade those towers in your area. I hope the workers have Gator insurance. Not sure about the reason, if there is one, but I've noticed that both Sprint and Verizon penetrate a lot better than AT&T and T-Mobile. It could be the difference between CDMA vs GSM or just better tower locations, but all the managers here are on T-Mobile and can't get a signal to save their lives indoors.

  4. I agree that as long as Sprint keeps up with its network and keeps the value there for its customers, it will remain strong. They don't need to be as big as Verizon, that we just hurt them in the end since they will become that big monster in the cell industry that dominates everyone and has capacity concerns. Sprint has always been known to have good voice and has lead the industry in adopting the latest technology. Once they finish with their Network Vision modernization and keep up with their network from there, their "luster" will be a given.

  5. The only Sprint store here is an affiliate store and not corporate. I would have to drive an hour away from the Sprint store here to find one. Plus, I didn't know the difference at first, either. Generally speaking, when the average person sees the logo all over the walls and windows it looks like it belongs to that company. It's not like you have Walmart or McDonald's affiliates, so people assume it's the same thing. To tell you the truth, I never knew this program existed until now. I wish I did, I could be using an LTE phone by now.

  6. I have high hopes that within the next year it will be leaps and bounds better. Isn't NV already about 2/3 complete now? It seems like they are turning 800 mhz on pretty quickly in areas and LTE on that band won't be far behind. The only thing I am not certain of is the time table for the TD-LTE on the 2.5/2.6 ghz band. Besides the handful of cities that Clear already lit up, I am not sure how Sprint is approaching their goal of adding it to all of their sites.

  7. It was a lot better than the T-Mobile Wing that I had before it. I am excited about this phone and the other triband phones coming. I will probably end up getting whichever phone comes out first. My Evo 3D keeps freezing, going into infinite boot loops and the hour worth of battery charge is getting annoying. I just hope they get rid of that blink feed or whatever HTC calls it. When I looked at the One, I couldn't get past how much it reminded me of WP8. I do like the stereo speakers on the front. I imagine that would pair nicely with the giant screen to make for Netflix nirvana.

  8. The rumors all say dual sims, but with the size of the thing there is no reason why there wouldn't be a way to have an SD slot. I also feel a track pad would be more useful than a fingerprint scanner. My Samsung Moment's home button doubled as a track pad and it was useful since on smaller windows and Web pages it was easier to use the track pad than selecting or scrolling through things with my fat thumbs.

  9. I would have to say just try to stay patient. When I was told that St Augustine was upgraded and I checked the maps and saw it was more or less there, I was discouraged that speeds and signal were about the same. It took a little time before I noticed the difference. It takes time past when the upgrades are "turned on" to tweak and adjust everything and as others have mentioned in other threads, the 3G side is usually brought up in clusters and not as each site is upgraded. I started noticing that webpges were loading faster, there was less delay after I selected things and my signal seemed to stay more consistent. Now, speed tests show sub 100 ms pings and my speeds are consistently very nice. Plus, as more people use phones that can use all three of the bands, it will lower the burden on each one since it won't be 100% traffic on PCS. It will get better, just try to stay the course.

  10. ^^^ That. Plus, it's not on topic.Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 4

Not trying to argue, but technically the original poster said he was hoping not to pay for a service he wasn't receiving. That 4G charge was the reason why it caused a rift for a period of time that some still cling to in non 4G markets saying they have been paying for 4G that wasn't delivered to their market.
