  1. So I am eligible for an upgrade on March 1st. Rumor is subsidies will go away sometime in the near future. I was looking forward to the new HTC. would not buy it at retail price. So looks like a have a small window for the subsidies option. If I buy a Nexus 5 from Google. How do I get a sim card? What are they running?
  2. That is a very good sign of fiber. Mine was about four good test over a couple of minutes. Haven't gotten below 100 since then.
  3. I think you can. I have gotten as low as 76 down here in Alamogordo and we are not on fiber.
  4. Thank you Robert. I knew I did not have the whole picture. I did not know sprint had the option to upgrade the WiMAX site. I hope they do. I think that they need one more site here if they want to keep good speeds in the future. We are outside the IBEZ. So I hope the 800 comes with or shortly after LTE. Will they need more hardware upgrades to do that?
  5. If Alamogordo only has one tower, will fiber and LTE be any good? Won't the pipe just fill up with all of the bandwidth hogs? I can get pings below or around 100 and downloads close to 2mb. Peek hours pings go up to 150-200 with downloads drop to 130kbp. I am wondering how much better it is going to be with only one Tower that will be 3G/4G?
  6. I think you are right. I think they are pushing their new smartphone buying plans. I am wondering how quick they will have sprint spark up and going after the light up the LTE? My wife needs that 800 at work, she can not maintain a signal and it just kills her phone.
  7. Well my wife's phone just received the text from sprint. She is interested in getting the HTC one max. I am wondering about the next HTC one, I really liked my LTE EVO, Just not sure what to expect in the next couple of months for phones.
  8. They pulled the legacy cabinets about two weeks ago down here. Contractor told me they still need back haul and the AAV installed. Do not know what AAV stands for. I was hopeful f the back haul was close when CL marked all their lines near the tower (about 100 yards away) then remarked them about a month ago. Nothing has been done since.
  9. The top rack is like the one here in Alamogordo. The second one is not. Speeds are down and pings are high again. I guess the crew last week did not fix the problem.
  10. So if a tower is NV, is it also capeable of 800 lte and voice? What is the delay for turning those on too in areas not close to the border?
  11. So I got this text message from sprint SprintFreeMsg: Over the next month, the new network will be largely completed in your area. See new phone offer at http://sprint.us/upgrade1 Reply S to stop. Now what am I to believe? I sure do not think there will by any LTE in Alamogordo, or even Las Cruces either.
  12. You know he was talking about alarms with dates of November 2013. So I know the tech was working off old items. Not sure what the field manager was looking at. What does the AAV look like. At least when I see that I. I know they will be getting closer. Also hoping that once Albq. Gets lit up the rest of the state will fall in quick. I was figuring that Roswell and Hobbs would come online soon after Clovis since they are platou wireless also. That does not seem to be the case. Just kind of bummed that we are the land of mañana. Not blaming sprint just wish they had a bigger fire to lite under some *****.
  13. Ugh, got some bad news for Alamogordo. Ran into techs on site working on some alarms, talked with him for a few and he called the constructions manager. Found out that the AAV has not been scheduled for the site yet, same for the back-haul. Guess we are looking for a late 2014 for LTE.
  14. We'll now that all of the holidays are done. Let's hope for some LTE integrations to start. Still no sign of back haul in Alamogordo, I have been getting an occasional ping below 100, most run from 115 to 200. I am greatful for the fix on data connection problems.
  15. I was in San Angelo as they went live with their LTE. I was able to see LTE in SignalCheck app but the phone was not connecting. Anyone seeing LTE in the app?
  16. Looking like they may have fixed the problems here in Alamogordo. Been getting 1 to 2Mbps download off peek. Pings are under 200. So if peek speed are above 400, and no data connection problems things will be good until LTE
  17. Might be true in the Sants Fe, Albq. area. I do not think they have started back-haul down here yet.
  18. So this is what my connections shows. I am unable to load any web pages and can not get a speed test to preform. Tells me network communication problems. Sprint has a repair ticket on it. Been this way since the integration. Hope they have it fixed on Monday as promised.
  19. It is real bad down here in Alamogordo, I was in Hobbs last week and the same thing. Very poor data connection and Constance drop in 1x signal strength. Hope they fix it soon we had reasonable data speeds before.
  20. Sure wish our NV upgrade had shown improvements, off peek use to get over 1M download and peek would get around 200kb. Now can't even get a good data connection durning peek times. Hope it gets fixed soon. They guy who did the intergration said the fiber box has not been installed yet. So let's hope that is not far behind.
  21. Well they have started on the integration on the only tower in Alamogordo. He had no information on the fiber back haul. So it is sit and wait. Will I be able to see any LTE with signal check? I know I wouldn't be able to connect
