  1. The stock has already appreciated 50% within the past few months, so you may have missed the boat.

If you do buy it now, your patience should have to be at least 1 year, as the stock price is likely to be volatile.

You have had some pretty good advice.

Looking to pick up 600 shares in S. What would you recommend?

  2. The 30-day window would bring in people who are attracted by Sprint's pricing but are wary of what they've heard about the service. If they can try it out risk-free they'll be more likely to give the new network a try.

No contract is better than a 30 day window. Buy a cheap phone and try the service out.

Rather than a subsidy what about giving loyalty bonuses like free 1gb hotspot or a voucher code that is tied to users Framily ID that gives 1 month mrc to the new subscriber.

  3. Its a lot more that a few trolls my dude. Every article your youtube video i see that do with 3g or lte and sprint well they never have anything good to say

They never have anything good to say?

There are alot of anti-Sprint trolls that seem to be stuck in a loop.

The reality is that the trolls are running out of ammo so they keep bringing up items that are almost non-issue now.

I have seen people get attacked by saying that Sprint sucked for them but now the service is better than carrier X.

Perception has already started to change for the better.

  4. My fear is Sprint will continue to lose more customers, their bad reputation is really hurting them. I have tried to talk many people the last few days to get on a framily. Everyone just think sprint sucks or they have a horror story about  what happened to them while on sprint.

Sprint needs a really good promo. Something like when nextel first came on the scene it was unlimited for $99 which was unheard of at the time, even though it was only for the first year.

Maybe sprint makes the first 3 payments on easy pay when you switch?

    Maybe youre trying too hard?

Just plant the seed for now.

That link seems to confirm my long held suspicion that the network upgrade strategy is now being driven by a marketing strategy in which Sprint can claim that they have as big of an LTE footprint as any other provider (even if the LTE performance is poor).  Now it seems like the head man wants somebody that can put lipstick on a pig better that the last crew.

    Did we read different articles?
  5. So I got my first months bill on framily. I have 5 lines (9 on the framily). My Framily rate should be 25 a month, however my bill is showing 55 a month per line. Called sprint, they're saying it takes one to two billing cycles for the rate to show up. This switch has been nothing but headaches.

Called care today regarding my charges. They issued a credit to bring my lines down to the $25. I have 7 lines on framily group. Representative said they were aware of the system "glitch" and my future statements should have the appropriate discounts on them.

  6. Hesse said that they would prefer if customers pony up the dough and just made every line on the framily plan unlimited to increase churn. He made no statement about why they have 1gb and 3gb plans and seemed to really want to push unlimited more than anything else. Basically the opposite of what your saying.

he prefers an increase in churn?

Of course, Sprint wants more revenue from data add ons.  But allowing "unlimited" data leads to a more congested network for everyone else.  Sprint has to find that balance between ARPU and user experience.

A good start would be to warn anyone that uses their device as a hotspot that they will either need to stop doing it or they will be placed on a plan.

  7. This seemed a lot more exciting at first.  I wonder how many customers are going to get confused.

For Dan Hesse to say "we want to offer simple plans" and then offer this... makes me scratch my head a bit.  I get what they are trying to do (lure customers to join and entice them to stay with sprint) but I think they missed the mark.

I think the confusion rests in that OP only gave out a small bit of info at first and left questions to which others drew their own conclusions. Once the rest of the info came through it made sense.

For new customers this is a no brainer.

    - Help Sprint get more customers and my bill goes down.

    - Buy a phone outright (no subsidies) /get on easy pay/go to craigs or fleabay

As an existing customer though the $15 add-on (I recently upgraded) may make me hesitate switching to the new plan. The waiver for a limited time does not convince me. I feel like there is a string attached on this one.

I have friends and family that have AT&T and Verizon and everytime they visit my home the first thing they ask me for is my wi-fi password. They don't want to use up their precious data. This would be a great time to position them with Sprint and Unlimited Data for $45. Someone with two lines can get service for $90 (getting my 7 wont be an issue) a month plus taxes. I would even be inclined to lend them one of my extra phones until they decide to purchase a new/used phone.

  8. Results were not as bad as expected. Investors like it, and Sprint shares have unfortunately risen above $6 this morning.

I will continue to monitor the stock over the next few weeks for possible sub-$6 points to initiate a position.

    It's under $6 again
  9. Am I missing something? That site you linked to says "Sprint (S) will report Q2 results tomorrow morning, the first report since Japan’s Softbank (9984JP) purchased 72% of the company earlier this month.

Analysts are modeling $8.69 billion in revenue and a 30-cent-per-share loss."
