  1. Went live yesterday, Independence and Broadview Heights. This speed test done at I-77 Exit for Wallings. I'm picking it up too from my house at 9Mbps, reliably everywhere but basement. Interestingly connects to both Airave for Voice and then a separate tower for LTE, I read about this but cool to see. While speeds are great I'm actually curious if anyone knows if bandwidth will improve in the near future. THe speeds are reasonable but we gotta admit sometimes Verizon can really give customers bragging rights when they hit 60Mbps albeit rare. Just feels like Sprint is limiting itself, but then again maybe I just need Spark.
  2. Well that sucks for me. I'm literally in the center of Cuyahoga County. I notice everyone around west, east, south are getting LTE. Like 2 miles south of 77 and 480 intersection. On another random note there's an app I want people to be aware about called FCC Speed Test. It's designed to be smart and find true speeds in areas for each carrier so that the FCC has a better idea. It runs in the background every few days and it's interesting to note how my last 2 speed tests were just terrible on 77. 1 test with 3G had the download fail completely. The other test had 500 kbps but interestingly 40% packet loss. As much as I believe in sprint, it really does let you down with horrifying speeds unless you have LTE, but then again depends on location. Voice is overall pretty good though so. On another note, there's rumors Softbank might buy T-Mobile, that's big, and while it could help them out, I think it'll end up being too messy with all the various spectrum gsm/cdma etc..
  3. Looks like Salem, OH is the only city in Ohio to officially launch LTE today. http://newsroom.sprint.com/news-releases/sprint-poised-for-2014-breakthrough-following-year-of-network-advances.htm
  4. If you notice that rectangle mapped out at the home depot around the parking lot, I was the one that mapped that out a few months ago, not to mention a big chunk of that area. It's nice to shop in the area with reliable speeds to research and compare, Sam's Club, Walmart, Home Depot, etc... I will admit this is probably the nicest useful LTE spot in Cleveland so far. My friend was picking up 33Mbps, also on Sprint LTE, while I was mapping it out on Sensorly. On another somewhat related note the same friend did pick up Sprint LTE on Royalton Rd, by Strongsville and North Royalton but only a tiny bit got mapped out so if anyone else wants to map it out go for it. I'm a little lazy until Sprint rapidly deploys in Cleveland and then I'll help out.
  5. I mapped out the little coverage of downtown a few weeks ago and do monitor any changes every week or so. Downtown is very unusual because it seems like the wireless is spreading slowly but my theory is that it's not connected to the any sort of the new network vision high speed backbone yet. I assume this because every speed test with the Cleveland LTE either doesn't go through or is painstakingly at 3G speeds. Plus I think they intentionally turn it off after the wireless testing if the internet isn't available. You can think of this like an analogy at home where your Wireless router can connect computers in your house to eachother (to access files) without necessarily needing internet working. We're simply waiting for that Internet to be ready which I think will greatly help the signal, and once mapped will show much better coverage. The major areas on the east and west of 480 already have 30+ Mbps speeds so it's just a matter of time.
  6. Any S4GRU Sponsors know when we can expect LTE in Independence/Seven Hills Area and also the Broadview Heights Area? I'm not too familiar but I think sponsors have access to a wealth of information on tower upgrades and I'm a bit obsessed looking at Sensorly everyday and mapping out other areas as soon as I see a dot show up but I feel like our areas have the worst luck with Sprint towers and there's just like a giant hole near 77 south of 480..
  7. I just mapped out quite a bit of the downtown LTE and while there is fairly obvious skyscraper interference, it's quite reliable on the veteran memorial bridge (W. Superior) and Carnegie bridges. Unfortunately didn't pick it up near the flats below them though. Even more unfortunately according to my speed tests it is still phantom lte (shows as lte but speed tests are still 3G based). I used LTE Discovery app whenever 4g would go out so it would toggle airplane mode and find lte again where it then stops toggling and sensorly maps it out.
  8. This is all very exciting because I didn't think we'll see Sprint LTE in Cleveland until next year. I mapped out on Sensorly a few streets by that 480 Exit. Picked up max speed of 33 Mbps. From farthest point I got 7 Mbps. I recommend LTE Discovery app too for alerts. Turn it on if you're in potential LTE area. I'll try to map out more soon. http://sensorly.com/map/4G/US/USA/Sprint/lte_310sprint
