Photos of the work being done on the water tower at Peter McCuen in Rancho. NV panels? They aren't on the tower yet, but they were on the lifts. Hope the quality is good.

Upgrade phone arriving today. I will map more on Sensorly this afternoon around Rancho to see if I get random signals.

Didn't seem as I attached the pic on the last post ^.^
Very good speeds there.

Stumble upon this site trying ID what I though was cell site for sprint thought I would share:
http://www.antennasearch.com/default.asp
I also came across this one which I use to finding matching microware links via callsigns from the antennasearch site using the view antenna results.
That's a pretty cool site. Nice find!

Still hoping for more in downtown/midtown. I ordered my phone upgrade and should get it early next week (worth saving $100 on the price, IMO). I'm usually on my wifi at my house, but I try to remember to turn wifi off to see if I get any LTE signal every now and then. So far, nothing.
-
To be Exact it is alongside Jackson Rd between Excelsior and Eagles Nest Rd right down the little street called Tree View Lane.
Yeah, I know about that one. And it sucks because I used to live in the houses out there. Now I don't. *sigh* Soon.....soon......

Hum hum hum... inside my house with a -110 signal
Show off!!
Just kidding. That's hopeful. Upgrade for me is TOMORROW finally and I'm going to go into the Rancho store and pick up an HTC One. I'll ask him if he has any insight on the Rancho progress. I also know to take what they way with a grain of salt. Two years ago, I asked about the rollout and he said within a year. HA! That was in spring 2011. I'm really hoping the reason I'm not picking up LTE at my house is that I have a weak radio on the EVO 4G LTE.
-
Service disruptions (dropped calls / roaming / data not working / decreased signal strength) are to be expected when upgrades begin. When that happens, keep an eye on local towers / cell sites. Gotta look both on the structure itself and the base stations as usually different contractors do the installation for each. .
Haven't seen anything up on the towers, but I haven't checked the base stations yet.
-
I have been roaming a lot in Rancho the past week or so. Way more often than usual, knowing that the service there is pretty pathetic. Hopefully some signal work is being played with.

Oh yeah, and still no visible work in Rancho as of today.
-
That's what I need to keep reminding myself. The initial speeds when towers start broadcasting won't knock my socks off, but they will be better than what I have currently and will continue to improve.

No 4g pings by CalTrans on Sensorly. Maybe they're running tests...?
-
The Caltrans building by the Capitol is where we saw the 4G this morning.
I'll be over there when I start heading home for the day. I'm convinced my HTC EVO LTE has a hard time getting signals to stick. Upgrade on Wednesday..... I'll map sensorly through the park.
-
Nothing at East End near the Capitol Building. I'll be heading over to CalEPA on 10th and I Street later today, then over by CalTrans on the south side of the capitol after that. I'll see if I pick anything up and do a Sensorly trip between each place to see what I can find.
-
Someone run over to R & 15th and do prl update & airplane mode toggle then run sensorly.
If it's not there then it's coming from west sacramento.
I'll do that after my meeting this afternoon. That's by where my husband works and where I catch the train every morning. I'll cycle my PRL and see if I find anything at 16th and Capitol.

Back in town. Didn't see any physical work being done in Rancho since I got back Monday. Didn't have LTE in all of San Diego, but when I did have it, it was pretty sweet. Here's hoping they continue to get the NV equipment up and running.
As a side note, my husband has officially called me a tech nerd. He is impressed with everything that I've gotten out of this site and what I've learned. I was edumacating him on cell towers and equipment on our drive down to SD. Good times.
-
Can't wait to get back home to see if I get 4g! Maybe Rancho will be up and running by Monday night. Loving the 4g in San Diego at the moment.4G from my backyard for the first time! In Rancho near Kilgore and International. Only 3 megs down, but progress!
-
I got it. :-) It's sad they did misspell it, though. Maybe they are trying to tell us something...Eh, I was afraid of that happening. I was making a play on words with their misspelling of Sacramento (Sacremento).
-
ISo you don't want the current network is what you are saying. Lol.Sent from my Sprint Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk 2
I'm just patient. It could be worse.
-
They might as well have mispelled it as Sacre-Mental. As in you have to be a mental patient to wait around for Sprint to upgrade their network. haha kidding.
I'd rather wait around for them to have it done right the first time than have them rush to deploy and have a sketchy network that is always in need of repair. And the price for service isn't bad, either.

Hey there,
Just joined to post this
But I just got lte signal on the vsp campus, 2mb down and 3 up...off zinfandel in between data and international.
3g speeds in buildings seem to be at 900kbps compared to an average of 150kbps now as well...this is exciting.
Awesome! That's by where I live, too. I'll drive by there on my way home and try to run a Sensorly mapping.
-
Could also be your individual phone. DW and I both have iPhone 5s. Bought at same time. Hers picks up LTE a LOT better than my phone. We've had them side by side and seen this behavior all the time.
That's true, too. Not all phones within the same model are alike.
-
Man, there was zero reception at the Starbucks on Olsen Dr. near Petsmart in Rancho this morning. Usually the reception isn't less than four bars for me south of Hwy 50. Maybe it's a sign of signal checks or the towers being worked on...
On another note, I was reading in another forum that the HTC Evo 4G LTE typically has a difficult time picking up LTE signals, unlike the S4 or HTC One. Anyone heard this, too? I'm upgrading to the One at the end of the month, so I have no basis for comparison, but I found that tidbit of info interesting. Maybe my Sensorly readings and LTE non-signals are because of my phone.

No work seen at White Rock Park, Bradshaw Road, or Kilgore.
