I wouldn't think you'd have to restart it, but not sure. I've left mine on LTE/CDMA since I bought my phone.

Just picked up 4G LTE in Castle Rock. For those of you that know the area, it seems to be limited to Meadows Blvd South/East of I-25. if you head West toward The Meadows neighborhood, it switches back to 3G. I assume they are just testing it, or maybe this is part of the upgrades that are coming.
