  1. That's very true but that's not to say that they can't make the camera better by updating the software.

Not true at all... Camera can vastly improve through software updates... Algorithms tweaked in the processing of the image can greatly improve the end result... HTC does it all the time.
  2. Any RF test anyone? Depending how the RF performs on B25 and B41 is a deciding factor between the M9 or the S6 Edge for me. Need a good performer because no B26 for us in San Diego anytime soon.

Don't see how anyone could ever connect to band 41 the way it's set now. It would require that band to be the only one available at all as band priority is currently 25>26>41 now....
  3. Why would they set band priority to 25>26>41????

Would of expected it to be 41>25>26 no?

Would think it would be tough to be out of range of band 25/26 and pick up only 41 no?... Would require a location where there is only clear signal basically.

  4. Regular one here is a screenshot

Wonder if they are setting these by location and if not then I wonder if anyone on the HK version shows 41 enabled as mine is disabled here...
  5. Thanks for this post. I don't have my MSL, but in view mode I now can confirm B41 is disabled. Wonder what reason there is for this, because it's sort of annoying.

Yeah I need to go to the tower and see if it does still connect to 41 and it's just display issue there....

Only reason I say that is because of the bad validation thrown when selecting band priority asking for more than 1 enabled when I have 2 enabled... Shot in the dark but possible...as the screen wasn't there before.

  6. Question...Can Freeze it disabled the HTC Dot View app without messing up my HTC M8?

    uzudy7aq.jpg

I do not use, and have no use for the HTC Dot View option. I have absolutely no plans on getting the Dot View Case, and over the past few weeks, I have mistakenly activated the Dot View option by tapping the phone wrong.

Please let me know if I can disable HTC Dot View either through the Sprint " Disable" feature or though the Titanium Back-Up feature "Freeze"

Should be able to just uninstall it from the play store like any other app... It's not one of the apps that's installed by default.

  7. They will have to leave the two networks up for a while for legacy devices and M2M even if they move every voice customer off of them.

Yup.... Remember the timeline to convert or really just fully shut off Nextel to allow NV deployments?..... Given most of those users were companies for the 2way, it was a long process to allow those to transition over to new devices....

  8. I doubt the ota will be different from the software the HK m8's will have out of the box. Considering there's been an RRU from the HK directly ported to the original m8 and it works perfectly fine as long as the ROM supports the HK software.

I highly doubt Sprint keeps both the M8 and the M8-HK edition on OTA at the same time same version.... Regular M8 most definitely will get OTAs before the HK one does. HK is running a different version right now, they will keep the two separate.

Regular M8 will get OTA before as it's more inline with the other global M8 than the HK is... HK will get to Sprint labs after regular ones will as it's the minority here and will have to have its own separate testing due to different files needed to support the HK implementation.

  9. Woe to the early adopter.

No kidding.... Like stated, it's one thing if it's a couple months after...I'd even be ok with 2...but less than a month.... Puts most people right outside their 14d return window.... Such a shame honestly...

Would be nice to see Sprint offer an exchange program of some sort...

Another thing to keep in mind is I'd expect this device to get OTAs after the regular M8 on Sprint does...yes they are close to the same but for sure OTAs will be different given the different software tweaks for HK...

  10. There is no solid proof that the hardware is already there and this is merely a mixer on the software side. I have read both, and I havent seen definitive answers either way.

That being said, you essentially pay 30 bucks for headphones if the phones are equal. They make a good product. Sure, bose and beats are better (in my opinion), but for 30 bucks those headphones would be a pretty good deal. I wont pay 150 for ear buds, i dont care if jesus christ himself made them.

Watch the video...Jeff gordan specifically calls out saying NOTHING hardware wise besides color is different on this HK edition and the audio is software..... HTC PR said same as well...

Also to the other poster, sprints speakers are no different that the others... Also noted by HTC.... The diff I'd guess your seeing is other carriers offering 16GB and 32 vs Sprint only 32....that and/or rounding differently...

  11. Maybe its hidden on purpose because it's redundant and does nothing.

Why go to the means to develop and create another then to begin with?

  12. Maybe I'm completely missing something but what does that option provide that enabling domestic/international voice and data doesn't? That's never shown up in any EVO ROM I have loaded from HTC, it seems redundant.

Why would they not use that instead if it did the exact same thing?.....

  13. Ahh, interesting.. that's a completely different menu I've never seen on any EVO ROMs. But doesn't that menu have the same effect as setting the appropriate combinations of Domestic Data and International Data in the options near the bottom?

    -Mike

Based on what some said, no.... Haven't given it a whirl fully yet.... Sprint might have the others configured somewhat differently as I haven't looked into it much detail here.
