  1. Just Xfinity here, but I believe it is an account authentication page to allow subscribers to use the "free Wi-Fi". I guess all the other companies are affiliated with the WiFi hotspot system.

Just thinking...if Comcast partnered with Sprint in a venture like this there could be a Micro-cell wherever there is Cable Internet.

Those WiFi access points are usually attached and supported by the cable companies wire. So it is only on the wire. Sprint would have to use a street light to do that or a power line if the city doesn't mind the wireing being out in the open. They'll likely use streetlights because they can hide the wiring inside.

  2. If im not mistaken, some of those providers share the same wifi base station with different SSID's for their respective customers.

Yup the primary provider has their SSID for me TWCWiFi and another CableWiFi for people with other providers like Xfinity (Comcast), Bright House to connect to.

  3. Look at the MetroPCS migration and re-farm for instance. If you're finishing a project 2.5 years ahead of schedule, I'm inclined to believe that your schedule was ultra conservative to begin with.

Similarly, with the 300 million LTE POPs by the end of the year, I'd be willing to bet that they fully well knew when they announced it that it wouldn't take them until the end of the year. Lo and behold, they're ahead of schedule and the crowd goes wild. Under promise, over deliver like Bryce said. It's smart.

They actually planned the 300 Million pops of LTE by the end of 2015 in late 2013, before they had any low band, so it could have taken longer since they'd be only using mid band spectrum. Now with low band they can do rural areas much quicker. They also likely ordered backhaul in 2013, so they'd have it now. Speeding up the process. For example they may do some areas as band 12 only to get it done quickly, then come back later and add mid band (band 2 or 4).

  4. If your are forced on 1x update your prl, data profile, firmware, and reactivate without data loss by clearing provisioning data which forces your phone to lose all network data like prls data profiles etc not text then it will reactivate without data loss. For my phone the S4 you have to dial ##72786#. Other phones methods may vary this code should also work for the s3 as well just Google how to clear provisioning data on your phone.
