  1. I think the majority are fine, this is not a huge percentage of users experiences.

I liked my N6 when I first got it, but today its a powerhouse. Awesome signal, full engineering screen support, massive amount of rom support, and a ton of other small details that make it great.

Agreed on all.  I only wish they had come out with a 6 and a 6 mini simultaneously.  I love the size, but I can see how it is just to big for many.  That was always one of my gripes with Apple was that users had no choice.  Now it seems almost as if the latest Android tablets are getting that way.  The flagships all have big screens and then IF there is a mini version usually the hardware gets brought down some.

  2. I've never had a notification saying it was using quick charge. The easiest way to tell is to charge it for a few minutes using the quick charge outlet, then use a quick charge 1.0 (2A 5V, so like a tablet charger or a Galaxy S4 charger) or non quick charge (1A 5V) and look at the battery stats.

A quick way to do this is to wait until it shows the estimated time until charged information on the lockscreen. See how much they differ with the different chargers. Quick charge 1.0 is twice as fast as an old standard adapter. And Quick Charge 2.0 is about 1.5x as fast as Quick Charge 1.0 (ie 5W for standard, 10W for QC 1.0, and 15W for QC 2.0).

    Thanks.

  3. Does the quick charge feature require a special cord?  I have the charger block that came with my Nexus but I don't think it is the original USB cable that came with it.

My Nexus seems to charge pretty fast but I don't see anything saying quick charge at all when plugged in.  Under battery it says "Charging on AC" which it will also say with high amperage adapters.  I saw a picture the other day of a nexus with a notification on it says that Quick charge was enabled so I am not sure if I am actually getting it or now.

  4. I just requested two demo phones.  Although I think Sprint will be very strong in the end, I may have to move for a bit.  The service in the Northern VA area is just killing me lately.  I have many of my users who are constantly getting pockets of no service.  I was getting LTE before but now it seems I am in 3G more often then LTE.  Hopefully in a year things are better again but I think my users patience has finally wore off.  I have been saying it is getting better soon to them for too long.

  5. I would think Sprint is already headed down one specific path or the other as they are coordinating roaming among their RRP(I think that what they call the group) partners.  I don't think it will matter what the Duo think at that point.

Are you able to roam with some partners one way and others another way or is that too much to setup?

  6. I have been having mixed results so far.  I am in and around the LVCC and some of the hotels on the strip.  I have pretty strong LTE signal and my hotspot has been excellent.  My phone on the other hand seems good on LTE but the phone coverage has been the issue for me.  I have had many calls that I am only getting every third word or so.  Upon retrying the call it works great.

In my hotel I am noticing really slow speeds and weak LTE/3G signal.  I tried using the hotel internet but it seems like crap so I tried my hotspot.  After having such good coverage on the ground I was surprised.  I am guessing it is related to the downtilt of the antennas and being 30+ floors up it just does not work that well.

  7. Actually I find the comparison interesting.  I was looking at the new Moto X the other day as I am getting a little impatient waiting on the rumored new one.  As I was going through the specs though, I kept saying same, same, same.  So in reality it seemed the only thing the new Moto X was giving me as fancy colors and engraving.  I think it is a nice phone but the specs seemed so similar it was not worth paying for an upgrade at the moment.  Now had I not had the Nexus 5 yet, I might get the Moto X over it.

  8. I too just called sprint and they seemed to think I had 3 heads.  I have received the update GV app but not the Hangouts update.  I thought I would try the integration as i had it enabled once before as I thought the quality was sub par.  I then tried going to the Google voice website to try it from there but it said my number was not eligible for integration.  Apparently if you have a business account you can't enable integration.

  9. The Sprint maps and press release would have to argue with you there. DC launched on Tuesday.

Wow, I am not sure how I missed the announcement.  I was just looking at the map on Monday and remember being bummed by the little progress in actual DC of late.  I have a lot of my users in DC and was hoping for more 800 voice coverage by now.  The 1900 signal just does not penetrate those old buildings very well.

  10. http://recode.net/2014/09/10/sprint-ceo-marcelo-claure-on-how-he-plans-to-turn-things-around/

I guess things are turning around for Sprint. According to Marcelo, Sprint has been adding more customers than they are losing now!! this is so great but the only thing I don't agree 100% with is him saying they are done with NV. I am hoping he was referring to the foundation on it. Other than that 3Q and 4Q should look nice!

Washington DC market would disagree with him on being done with NV as it has yet to launch.

  11. I used to never use them.  I had not broken a screen for years but then in the last 3-4 years I have broke screen on a Note, S3 (Twice), S4 and Nexus.  I am not sure why all of the sudden it is happening more.  I don't think I drop my phone any more than before.  I would of though with the new GG versions that is would be happening less.

So now, I have to operate with one.

  12. As far as I know, the N5 doesn't support Wi-Fi calling, not even on T-Mobile.  I think the OEMs have to bake it into the software and the carrier, of course, has to support the feature.  On T-Mobile, all the Android devices (except for the N5) support Wi-Fi Calling, along with the BlackBerry and Windows phones.

    Thanks for the info.

  13. Sprint's turning point has already happened and the naysayers refuse to admit that sprint is no longer going to be the sprint they used to know, anymore. It has the spectrum, it almost has the plans, they have great devices, and now they almost have the completed network which continues to be upgraded. It's a recipe for evil, I mean success.

I don't totally agree with the Great devices part.  They still have no current Windows phones.  I know people will say who cares but their market share grows each quarter.  I have 3 users that just upgraded to Windows phones on our AT&T account and they are loving it.  One each came from iphone, Android, PalmOS.
