  1. So when I owned a Nexus 5 I found a dialer menu on this site that would allow me to access an engineering menu by dialing *#*#3328f#*#* (DEBUG).

Within that menu there was the ability to prioritize the LTE bands that the phone would scan for.  Knowing that 41 is the Spark band, I want to prioritize my phone to scan for it first, 26 second and 25 last as I'm looking first for the speed of 41, next the coverage of 26 (I understand that at this point 26 is most widely deployed in my area) and finally 25 because I'm not quite sure why it's there.

The problem I am running into is that on the Nexus 6, this menu is not accessible by dialing that code.  I have googled for the last week or so trying to find the dialer code that would let me do this and as yet have been unsuccessful.  Does anyone know how to access this menu on this phone?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.

  2. After leaving for a long time, I am back to say that I am completely happy with what Sprint has done.  I get LTE at home, typically between 7-15 mbps, I get LTE at work though it went away for three days last week but now is back up and speeds have increased from about .71 mbps to 5-7 mbps.  I also get LTE for most of my commute which admittedly runs right through LTE darling Commerce City.

But I get LTE throughout most of the city, and where I don't the 3g speeds seem to be so much better than they were before.  Speed tests do not typically confirm this but I feel like things are loading faster.  Can that be a thing?

Anyway, I'm ecstatic for what I have seen over the last 18 months and grateful to this site for keeping me grounded when I was fed up and ready to leave for another carrier.  I now have great service which has inspired 4 more people to join my Framil (still hate saying that name) and my bill has dropped by nearly 70 a month.

It's not for everyone I suppose, but I want to give big thumbs up to the S4GRU crew for really working hard to keep us all in the loop throughout the deployment thus far.

Very excited to see what comes next!

  3. Here is the email-

Also last friday I got a text from sprint linking to this page-

    http://sprint.us/www/2014/network-towers/?v=2&ECID=MA:SMS:US:20140318:NTV:B2C:TT:vnty:networkupdate5

I thought this was just standard sprint boilerplate but maybe something is actually about to happen.

That doesn't look like I was right. Sounds like their system relies on the Sprint network.

    False alarm everyone!

  4. If they use Sprint for their services, it doesn't matter where the towers are, just like your phone would have issues if you were connecting to towers during upgrades no matter what your proximity to said towers is.

Check the N5 thread, the rumoured update is just that, a rumour. Nothing is likely this week.

It's not a notice of disruption to any type of cellular service. It's a notice of disruption to the service they provide, which is walking up to the rent-a-bike racks and getting a bicycle due to crews doing work.

  5. My friend received an interesting email from Denver B Cycle today (the for-rent bikes around downtown) stating that due to upgrades to Sprints cell network to expect disruptions to their service at certain stations throughout downtown until Thursday.

    Interesting for three reasons.

1 - obviously due to the fact that I was connected to LTE all day today. Band 25

2 - Thursday is the rumored release date of Android 4.4.3 which will supposedly give Sprint customers access to Spark on the Nexus 5.

3 - several of the locations they have said will experience disruptions of service do not initially appear to be near the known Sprint towers in the members section. I have yet to cross reference these lists and will not be able to until later this evening. Is it possible that Sprint may be adding more towers or repeaters to strengthen signal in downtown?

  6. Just got LTE at I-25 & 58th. I only had time to get a signal check screen shot.

Uploaded a picture to my drive folder.

Edit: I've been on LTE from union station to Broadway. Very weak signal but its usable. I tried mapping in sensorly but it wasn't registering any points of any data type. At any rate, after 5 days of EV-DO downtown this is very welcome.

  7. Interesting. You are right next to the ONLY 3G accepted site downtown (how that happened I have no idea). So it's possible that you had an NV 3G connection (meaning CSFB was available) and managed to grab a stray LTE signal from one of the suburb sites. If it ever comes back, the GCI will tell us for sure.

GAH!  Just had it!  I was putting my fingers on volume down + power and it went away!!!

  8. According to this site www.cellularinsider.com/lirpa0114/jk  Sprint has announced the decision to move Denver's launch to 2015 siting "Denver already has too many things going for it.  When you considering the high standard of living, great geography and multiple professional sport franchises, we here at Sprint don't currently feel the Denver market wouldn't appreciate our Network enhancements nearly enough."

The Spokesperson goes on to say "Growing up in Cleveland and Kansas City, I felt it would be irresponsible for Sprint to launch LTE in Denver despite the majority of our sites being near completion."

Haha, I started giggling at "Denver already has too many things going for it".
