Quick question. Would there be any benefit to switching to a T-Mobile plan vs staying on our current Sprint plan?

What is the little "2" behind the B25 in the provider line?
-
Mime did the same thing. And it wont connect over wifi or lte only 3g. What happens is it cant do calls over wifi so where the g2 normally disables your mobile data when wifi is connected it leaves it on to use DC
Well I would say it must use 4G since I am only connected to that or wifi here at home. Also I just checked and the description for the app says it can now be used on 4G.

Is voxer free?
Yes it is, although they also have a pro version available that you have to pay for.
-
I started using DC yesterday and since I downloaded it my 4g symbol is always showing, where before it was just the wifi symbol, and I would say the sound is about the same as voxer.

Oh, happy day!!!! Its here!! It actually got here around 9:30 this morning only 14 hours after I got my shipping confirmation email. I finally got to lay my eyes on it but don't have time to activate it for a couple of hours yet.
-
I was finally able to look at my tracking info and it should be here tomorrow sometime, so one day before in stores!

So you should get yours tomorrow evening?

It kinda looks that way, hopefully, but I'm trying to not get my hopes up to much!

If you pre ordered from sprint you will get it Friday. Which to me is pointless because you could have just walked in the store and picked one up if you don't live in a busy city
I tried to order from Best Buy but I am on a business account and I couldn't order online from them, so I ordered from sprint with no problems. Also the email says "next day, pm".

I ordered mine from sprint and I just got a shipping confirmation email a couple of minutes ago!!

Probably 1X, but that is just a guess in my part. If you have ever watched the app for awhile, you can see that even when you are standing still you might switch between sectors/sites/towers though.. I know at home all of my devices constantly switch between 3-4 nearby sites.
As far as the accuracy of the address, like others said, it depends on where you are.. the latitude/longitude is set by the provider. Sometimes it is the exact location of the site, other times it is offset some distance from the site, and some sites do not broadcast any location information at all. For example, in my area I know that Sprint sites are offset, and Verizon sites do not show any location at all.
The app takes the latitude/longitude being broadcast and geocodes it using a Google server to determine the street address. If its not near a roadway or landmark, it will give a more general location such as the city and state.

From what I have seen at my place it pretty much stays on the same tower, nothing really changes. And so far the addresses it gives me have been about right on. Its just that while I was talking to sprint it said I was connected to a tower almost 5 miles away and sprint said I was connected to a tower not quite 2 miles away.

Elkhart (in the Ft. Wayne/South Bend Market) is a Samsung market, and if it is configured like the Chicago market, each sector squawks the exact location of itself, literally within 20-25 feet. This is unlike Milwaukee, for example, where sectors squawk offset co-ordinates. When I map a Chicagoland tower onto a Google satelite map, the location shows up exactly at the base of the tower, at the highest magnification Google will provide.
Keep in mind, however, that these co-ordinates are for the 1X (phone and text) transmitter. You may be connected to a given 1X cell, but to an entirely different CDMA data cell on a completely different tower, and to yet another LTE data cell on yet a third tower, all at the same time. The only one mapped by Signal Check is the 1X, either 1X-RTT or 1X-800.
Perfectly simple. Isn't it? Of course it is! Anybody with a PhD in cellular telephony could figure it out!
While I was talking to sprint, which connection would they look at? I guess I would assume it would be the 1X connection same as the signalcheck app, but I could very easily be wrong I guess!

I just down loaded the pro version a couple of days ago. As I was playing around with it I looked up all the addresses and with the help of S4GRU I knew right where all the towers I was connecting to were at. Now for my question, how accurate are the coordinates it gives you? I live within 2 miles of a tower and that address never comes up. Also I was having problems with my service yesterday in an area I have never had a problem before so I called Sprint about it. They told me I was connected to the tower 2 miles from me and the app said I was connected to a tower not quite 5 miles away. So who is right?

I've got to ask, what for wifi router do you use? I need a higher powered one.My wifi covers all of my house, yard, and even 3 or 4 seconds houses down the street and the houses aren't slammed pack close where you can hear your neighbors fart from your kitchen. No need for LTE at home.

The map completely locks up Firefox on my computer. I have waited several minutes and it does nothing. It has slowly gotten worse till it got to this point, but if I use Chrome it stalls out for 10 seconds or so and then loads.

I just had my phone replaced this afternoon and so far it has held its data connection with no problems and it can also connect to 4g, my first SIII refused to connect to 4g.

I have the same problem myself, but I figured it was just the horrible data around my area.

The only thing I have to say on the subject is when we got our monitor it supposedly had a 2000 ft range, well they are less then 20 ft apart and it still loses its connection once in a while. Yet we cab take it further away and it will still work but nowhere near 2000 ft.
-
I should, that would be pretty funny!!You should go to your nearest sprint store and raise hell about the fact that your phone is working better than ever and then demand answers as to why.

They have started, just, but I don't think that explains going from only lasting roughly 8 hours to this. As I type my battery still has 21% left and its been 19 hours since I unplugged it. I'm not complaining at all it just seems more than a little strange.Hmmm.. The only other thing that I can imagine happening here is that your signal is better so its not draining the battery holding onto a weaker signal. Have you seen any tower upgrades in your area? (NV perhaps?)
-
No, it was pretty much the same mix as usual, which is a pretty decent signal. Were you in different locations? A different building..? Battery is drained quicker the weaker your signal if your phone is struggling to maintain a connection.

No, I didn't change a thing, which is why I am so stumped. And also today the battery is even better then yesterday. So strange.maybe you turned off auto-uploads on a cloud based backup or sync app or g+ ? could be possible you changed your password on one of those services so it cannot authenticate to constantly eat up battery in the background

How long does it normally take from the time they put up new panels until they turn them on. We live in Northern Indiana and are almost right in the middle of 4 towers, so our service is not great at best but right now it seems that at least 2 of the towers are not broadcasting so the service is non existent in our immediate area. The 2 that I know are not broadcasting were Sprint towers. The one had the new racks with the big pannels attached sitting on the ground at the base of the tower for almost a year before the finally put them up.
