  1. The mods have never ever hosted rants! Period! It clogs up the pipeline of really good info flowing out of this site! A sponsors view of what's really going on is the most accurate approach. I'm one tower acceptance from having blanket coverage in my daily commutes....a month ago I had ZERO LTE! So the progress here in SC is at a lightening pace! Sponsor.....!!!! You will get the info to stop your negative views! Trust me!! :-)

  2. My tower here at work was accepted and is broadcasting LTE here in Ladson SC....only thing that sucks is that it is a mile and a half front the plant and LTE only reaches to the guard station gate at the front of the building...it drops off to 1x, 100 feet from where I work :-( it's scary that it only reaches smile and a half...funny thing is that it reaches 3 or 4 miles in the other direction. Discouraging....at least when my home tower goes live I will have great speeds everywhere but work. I wonder if my work tower will eventually reach farther or I am going to have to wait on LTE 800...hmmmm. There is a tower about 3 miles south of my work that is not even 3G accepted yet....it is in the middle of the wescott plantation golf club...hopefully that one will cover my work :-(

Here's looking at you Charlotte!! Left my lowcountry to spend some quality time with your city! Sitting outside of tattoo bills as the wife gets some ink, getting my face melted with these LTE speeds! LTE life is good here for sure!!

  4. I had probably the worst sounding call I ever had two days ago; it was a Sprint/Verizon call. When I heard the word "under water" described I apparently took that with a grain of salt, but the person I was speaking to really did sound like she was under water! not only that but also sounded like she just had her mouth numbed from the dentist, and had a mouth full of shit as well, combine that together and I couldn't understand a word for the life of me. I had to call back on her landline and it was clear as a bell, obviously it wasn't me! I held that clear call just fine inside with just 1-2 bars on my iPhone.

I never realized Verizon could sound that bad...

Oh yeah man! It's not all gold and diamonds like they make it out to be. My parents live out in rural Berkeley county SC. Zero chance of LTE out there. I can't even understand my mom when she calls. I end up calling on her landline. The funny thing is that I have decent 3G and voice out there with my Sprint iphone.

  5. Daniel,

I have also noticed alot of failed speed tests and funky signals in the area over the past few days. I would assume that this would be normal until they have fully tested the LTE towers before going live. It is nice to see LTE every now and again! Shouldn't be much longer!!

    Mike

I hope that's what the deal is lol fingers crossed. Given that they have fired up a few sites, maybe we are close as well! :-)

  6. Update guys,

As I said earlier I have had failed speed tests and/or download speeds of 0.00 at my work tower. Well check out the speed test below that I just got all of a sudden sitting in my office inside our steel and concrete building. Just went to lunch and rode by the tower and there was one guy over there in a red/burgundy Jeep Grand Cherokee.

** I also noted that the legacy antennas are now gone. All that's up there are the RRU's and the new NV antennas. Good times!

I hope that guy is over there doing some LTE rain dance! I will keep y'all posted! :-)

  7. Hi everyone,

This is my first post on here and I'm happy to share the news that I have.

I left home this morning for work this morning as I normally do for work. There was no 4g signal in sight. I did notice that my 3G signal was stronger than usual. I have a bad habit of running speedtests throughout the day to see how good/bad my data connection is.

Let me just get right to it. I came home this afternoon and couldn't believe that I actually had a 4G signal on my phone!!!! 4G seems pretty decent right now in the Hanahan/North Charleston area (near Northwoods Mall). I haven't explored the area to see how far the signal can stretch. I'm just so excited that I actually have a Sprint 4G signal in SC!!!!

I can't figure out how to post a picture right now, but I do have some results from a speedtest that I ran. Hopefully someone else is getting 4G as well.

Hey buddy congrats on your side of town! I'm on the other side of town over on the Ladson/Summerville side. My buddy was over on rivers today and he held on to LTE almost the entire length of rivers from goose creek to Greenridge Rd. Where he turned off. They have lit up a hand full if towers the past cpl days around here. Hoping that my home tower on trolley is next lol

  8. I'll be happy if they'd just support 800mhz LTE. 2.5/2.6ghz TD-LTE support would be AWESOME as well, but I can live without that on my iPhone, for the moment. I'm more excited about having LTE in more places and especially indoor propagation. Maybe Apple will surprise us.

I agree man! I would prefer 800 first. Just because of where I work and go the most. Need the indoor coverage and more areas with LTE. I can wait on the faster speeds. Just give us 800. Would love to see all 3. Then it's a no brainer to upgrade. If the "5s" or whatever they call it, doesn't have 800, I will just wait for the 6 next year.

This is what I have been getting from my work tower for a week. (Ladson rd. And palmetto commerce parkway) I would look up the site id but as you can see data is non existent. This test was done outside and I'm about 7 tenths of a mile from the tower. It use to work pretty well outside. 90% of this commerce park didn't exist as little as 10 years ago. With Boeing here now in our park and the explosions of this particular area in size, I hope they throw some 800 MHz at us when this tower comes back up. I rode over there just now to chat with the guys but they are gone but the gates are still open. They must have went to lunch as well. I will keep u guys posted if and when they come back.
