On that nexus 5 field test app when you go on settings and view lte does band 26 and band 41 have to be enabled? Cause mines shows disable.

South Sac / Elk Grove and most of Clearwires Sacramento market wimax sites are slated to be converted to TDD-LTE functionality within the next two months. First batch are live or coming live soon with the second batch slated for april. Most, if not all, should be live with Band 41 by June. More information is available in the premier sponsor areas (there are tentative dates given for each cell site).
Sprint has also began applying for permits for the deployment of new Samsung 8T8R TDD-LTE Band 41 RRH & Antennas over their network which should be underway by may.
TDD-LTE 2500 (20mhz TDD), LTE 1900 (5x5mhz FDD), and LTE 800 (5x5mhz FDD) should be widespread almost immediately by the time Sprint / Samsung gets Sacramento NV 3G integrated (hoping late spring / early summer but am prepared to be disappointed again).
Are there any towers live in roseville b41?
-
You have to peruse through zoning and other government documents if you don't know exactly where they're negotiating to deploy a new site.
And after that it goes to the city?
-
Yep.
Is there any way to find out if there are any permit applications for new cell sites?
-
They put up a new cell site.
That's nice. Doesn't it take years to get permission from the county/city to put a new cell site?
-
2 New 4G accepted sites.
- 1 in Sparks,NV which is the last one -- Summit Christian Church on Pyramid way
- 1 in Placerville,CA which is a new build site near the airport.
Exact locations available to S4GRU sponsors
What do you mean by a new build site?
-
Yes.
Hmm does it take some time to connect to spark or does it do it rite away?

How do I enable LTE mode only on that app?
-
Do a PRL update and toss it into LTE only mode via https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cellmapper.nexus5fieldtestmode. Every reboot of the radio requires a PRL update.
Does the phone have to be rooted?

I drove by and looked at the tower off of greenvalley in El Dorado Hills that's accepted 3g and I didn't see any rru's on it.

Green valley rd. and Francisco, northern side of EDH. Driving into Folsom along Green Valley, LTE went away.
I'll check it out after work. I'm working off of Sophia and greenvalley.
-
LTE in EDH, green valley & Francisco. Been seeing a lot more 1x the past couple of weeks. Saw the post about NV 3G sites accepted in EDH, not sites near me. LTE (for now) this morning. This is encouraging.
LTE where in EDH?

How do you connect to spark with nexus 5?
-
-
Based on the progress or lack of on major urban sites.
I'm still hoping they split it up somehow to multiple clusters. Hand offs between Lucent and Samsung equipment isn't bad per se like Motorola to anything else but it's not really "good" in the big scheme of things. It's livable but handoff issues could be a pain that they want to avoid. Either way I'd live with the chance of dropped calls or data sessions at this point and time.
El Dorado Hills area was NV 3G accepted / integrated in the last couple of days so they might (hopefully)
be heading into Folsom soon.
I was working in Folsom off of iron point and serpa and I couldn't connect to 3g it was on 1x the whole day for the last week, and when I worked there about a month ago I had 3g.

Why can't the nexus 5 automatically connect to lte?
-
No. Not March. Not April. Not May. Most likely sometime mid to late summer.
How much time after a tower gets 3g nv will lte be active?
-
yes.
Awesome! Do you still expect a cluster launch in march?
-
When sacramento is gonna get cluster launched for 3G will it be faster?
