Has anyone figured out the dialer codes to update PRL and Profile? I'm on CM11 and the options in settings do not work.
-
Wow, you're right. We should DMCA them!

I don't have my N5 yet, but I wanted to say thank you and give Textra another plug -- I installed it on my EVO LTE yesterday, and love it. I had tried several third-party messaging apps in the past, and hated all of them because of all the bloat you mentioned. This is perfect.. and appears to work well with the inescapable iPhone group messages too. Love that you can fully customize each contact's notification settings as well.

No worries. I can't recommend it enough. It's the stock app that could / should have been.
-
For what it's worth, if anyone is looking for a great traditional SMS app, I recommend Textra - it's fast and lightweight with a clean UI; supports 'just enough' features (e.g. group MMS) and does not have any of the bloat that comes with something like GoSMS.

So LTE 800 and 2600 are locked out right now?
I wonder if that's in the ROM or radio. If the former it's probably something cyanogenmod can unlock.

800 is great no more roaming and missed calls

What app is that?

I wish I could stay on it but the data I here is wishy washy with the LTE.
Don't count on it.
LTE works fine for me. (Better than Sense rom actually..)

I also had a couple of dramatic increases like that in northern Virginia. Couple areas where I knew I'd get like < 0.1mbps and therefore unusable data, I'm suddenly getting 1.0-1.5 megabits down over 3G.

CM10 is absolutely fantastic and I'm loving every second of it.
Here is a brilliant article comparing it to SENSE based roms.

Strong LTE coverage in Marblehead, Massachusetts where I'm visiting. Evo LTE running CyanogenMod 10. Averaging 10.4 mbps!

Or is it just covert in that location? Sorry. Bad joke.

At least it's comforting to know that if S4GRU ever fails you can always start a new comedy forum

Here's hoping for some NoVA love soon...

What does that mean, exactly? Are we still getting LTE this month?
-
I was looking at Sprint's site today and noticed there are no cellular-capable tablets available. Not one. ZTE Optik? Gone. Evo View 4G? Gone. The only options are WiFi only. What gives? Any idea if they are planning to bring out new EVDO and/or LTE devices this year?

U.S. T-MetroSpricketwire?
Hahaha!!

Any ideas on when a fix is expected?

On Phone Arena, I measure the success of my comment by how many thumbs down I get. I only got three on that article. I've done better with up to five. That was about Nokia which seems to be the another very hated on company right now.
I bet I can get at least twenty: "The only thing worse than Apple users are PhoneArena users."

Any educated guesses on when Sprint might announce the next batch of markets to get LTE, and/or dates?
-
The confusion lies in that the EVO LTE supports CDMA 800, which is voice and 1x Data.
Robert
Makes sense. Voice on 800 is planned to be 1x Advanced / HD Voice, yes?
-
I've seen conflicting information about this on Sprint's forums and elsewhere on the web so figured I'd ask if anyone knows anything definitive.
Does the LTEvo have 800MHz hardware compatibility on the radio for CDMA and/or LTE? Is this something we're likely to see enabled in the future with the LTE 800 buildout?
-
There isn't a need for most sites to need LTE 2600 capacity over an entire LTE 1900 cell. It just needs to be able to take enough burden off it to keep it within acceptable performance tolerances.
Didn't think about that...good point. Here's hoping for a speedy NV and Clearwire rollout.

On a more serious note, does anyone know which sites Clearwire is thinking about putting TD-LTE radios on? I assume they're using their existing (pre)/wimax towers, no? Considering the lousy penetration of 2500 and the fact that these sites are mostly separate from Sprint towers, won't that be a pretty lousy blanket of 2500 TDLTE? Seems like even with that, Sprint's LTE on 1900 will be doing the heavy lifting..

My dream announcement - "From here on out we will be putting LTE 800 and 2600 in every phone we make, especially those 5 Nexus phones you keep hearing about for the fall. Apple, however, will not be supporting LTE 800 until the Iphone 6".
I'll second that as my dream announcement with the following addition:
"Also, we purchased 20 MHz of 700/800 spectrum from ATT/VZW/whatever and it's getting aggregated to the 1900 with LTE-A which launches RIGHT NOW!"

I live right next to City Hall in downtown SJ. Only seeing very lousy 3G at my place, and in a 4 block or so radius around me. I have noticed that down in Willow Glen or up in Milpitas that there is great LTE coverage. Guess they're taking their sweet time in northside and horace mann.
