  1. I was actually able to get 4Mbs sd own and 1 up at SeaWorld's Happy Harbour today. But most of the day showed slow 3G today...so maybe it was just testing.
  2. The Sprint LTE RRUs I've seen have four square boxes mounted behind the panel, with two at the top and two at the bottom as if they were piece of bread sandwiched together...for lack of a better description.
  3. The tower for the dog park is the one on top of the Winter Park Towers retirement community about a half mile north of the dog park. I'm sure WPHS hammers that tower right now during the week days.
  4. Driving down Orange Ave today, I noticed new RRUs on the tower about a half mil south of Pineloch. Only broadcasting 3G at the moment though.
  5. Talked to a guy at the WPPD tower who stated he was doing an "audit of the tower for Sprint"...taking measurements and photos. The tower is still only 3G though, despite it have the new RRUs on it.
  6. New LTE in Winter Park. I just pulled four bars at Orange Ave & 17-92 w/ 11 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up. First time I've ever gotten LTE in this area. Will have to check more, but I believe it is the tower just west of 17-92 on Minnesota Ave.
  7. I have an airave since I get dropped calls and voicemails are delayed until I leave the area around my home. Actually on my third one. First one got killed during a thunderstorm (I think). The replacement they sent would never acquire a network signal. This one was replaced and arrived yesterday. Hooked it up today and it is working like the first one did. About the airave, it does provide 3G data speeds. I've gotten about 2.5Mbps down during testing, but I use my Wifi for my data at home. Unless you go online and set it up, all airwaves will permit up to five Sprint devices to connect to it at one time. I left it on so any friends with Sprint who come to my house can access real 3G data. After going through the telephone interview, I was provided the airave for almost free. I have to pay taxes up to a limit of $3 per month for the telephone line assigned to it. They will check your coverage area and if your experience warrants it, send you one for free and waive the activation fee. I think the key for me was the dropped calls and the delayed voicemail delivery until I was a few block from my home. Supposed to work up to 2,000 ft, but I'd say it is probably closer to half that.
  8. At 7am this morning I got 3 bars of LTE near WPPD with 8Gbps download. I also picked up three bars of completely unusable LTE next to Orlando Exec Airport (west side)...a first for me in that area to have any LTE.
  9. The tower at the Winter Park Towers is broadcasting LTE again, though inconsistently regarding speeds. I was able to get 17Mbps down and 4 up...but then I also got .33 up and down a block further away on Glenridge Way. I think it is reaching across the lakes to Downtown WP. Getting 3G mainly in the downtown area...big did get twoLTE bars near Rollins. Nothing but 3G at the north end of Park Ave.
  10. The Sprint tower on Oakridge Rd, just west of Orange Av, now has the same Sprint RRU design as the one at Winter Park PD...with one RRU on each side of the triangle shaped support rack on the tower.
  11. I actually got usable LTE at Conway & Hoffner this morning, as I got 2MB down and .2 up with only two bars. But a few blocks west and I was back to 3G. However, the 3G was better than it has been the past three months...so maybe the tower east of Conway & Hoffner is back to life.
  12. Yeah, I was at the base of it and there are a few panels that appear to be the RRUs with six cables coming out the bottom. Same for the panels at the WPPD. On a side note, I picked up unusable LTE at Conway Gardens Rd & Michigan for the first time...only a bar or two.
  13. There were WesTower trucks at the tower behind the Winter Park PD on Monday & Tuesday, but since they are behind the secure parking lot for the PD, I couldn't talk with them.
  14. I would think that they would have to actually have a decent amount of coverage actually within the city limits of Orlando first. As of right now, the LTE coverage is outside or on the border of Orlando's city limits.
  15. Just checked the Sensorly maps and it pretty much confirmed what I found out about the Hoffner & Goldenrod tower being LTE. I'm beginning to think the Conway & Hoffner tower is down, as I never get 5 bars when next to it now. Actually, its been this way for about two months. Conway & Hoffner seems to be pulling a signal from a different tower to the north of this area.
  16. The new LTE tower appears to be the little tower on Hoffner just west of Goldenrod (west of Walmart). I got 12 down and 3 up at the closest point on Hoffner. Will it stay up, or is it just up for testing like the one at the Winter Park Towers?
  17. Picked up a faint LTE signal for the first time on Hoffner @ Conway. The data rate was no better than the current 3G speeds. It appears to be eats (northeast?) of this area, as the signal was a little stronger at 436 & Hoffner.
