With an rsrp of - 100 dbm I can get about 9 mbps down and 5 mbps up

 

Sites are not congesting yet. Not even close. What I'm reporting is consistent in all markets. 20Mbps+ speeds are not anomalies with a strong LTE signal.

 

If you are experiencing strong signals and meh speeds consistently in your market, then perhaps your market is having an issue with the core they are working though. Are you determining your signal strength through engineering screens? I hope you are not using the bars in your signal strength indicator to determine LTE signal strength.

Sounds like your site may have a backhaul choke point. I've never had such low speeds from such a strong signal. I would say I averaged 25-35Mbps with that signal strength in all my testing.

Wow! Were you standing next to the tower when you got those speeds? lol .. i never got those speeds.. EVER! actually.. maybe when lte tower first came out in somerville, i might've got 20 mbps... and then the public caught on... lol...

Thanks for the clarification Robert. I never got 10 mbps down with having a weak signal so I was assuming it was strong. I will be sure to check the power of the signal when I am back there.

I can't wait til we get LTE in the 800mhz band... was outside Taiyou sushi in Quincy and got 10mbps, went inside the restaurant, and got 1 mbps to dropped LTE connection... =\

1900 mhz has very little penetration power. In the meantime, i guess Sprint needs to put up more LTE towers to achieve good building penetration.

I live in that area too. Perhaps another tower going up or the towers in Quincy are being upgraded?

Great LTE in Everett except for the hill on garland St.

Looks like minimal signal there and zero 3g 4G coverage at whidden memorial Hospital. I am working there today...

This coverage stretches down from Braintree Square Rte 37 to just before the Rehab hospital going towards Holbrook. Strongest in Braintree Square at 16 mbps down to 5 mbps down outside my parents house.. this tower upgrade unfortunately did not help indoor coverage inside my parent's place =\

Where are you finding the sponser Map in the Boston market? in the animated maps section?

I used Sensorly to map the LTE coverage heading down 93S through the Braintree split the other night. Not too surprised to see coverage there since the sponsor maps show a new live LTE tower in that area in the last update.

We need more peeps to scour the South Shore for more LTE goodness!

How do you know that this permit is for sprint? I don't see anything mentioning sprint, alcatel, or Ericsson.

I got 32 mbps down in Allston! Where in Boston?

Anyone notice slower 4G LTE speeds in the Boston area? I'm averaging about 6mbps down and up. Due to more people connecting the towers or engineers tweaking speeds down?

I checked Inman Square Cambridge and South Station area...

Lower mills Dorchester got upgraded 3g it seems? This the fastest I've received in my condo. I got 2.75 down and 80k up. Maybe due to Sundays morning?

Just kidding.. it's just back to normal again... about 1.6 mbps down and 80kbps up... high speeds must be from taking a speedtest early on a sunday morning...

Also, the tower that covers Lower Mills Dorchester came back up.. and found that my data speeds are a COMPLETE DOWNGRADE.. Used to average 1.5 mbps down and .80 up

now.. getting .45/.33 mbps
