  1. Well with the galaxy S4 now coming with Triband support what would the chance be of the Note 3 getting the upgrade? My phone upgrade comes up late next month and really want the note 3.

If you open a new line or add a line to your plan via Amazon the Note 3 is $112 right now That's the lowest I've seen it.

  2. Has anyone been getting some force closes and app's hanging when making and hanging up a call?

It happened several times this morning. First time the app was hanging in a froze state and it wouldn't let me hangup the call. Eventually I got an error msg saying some "android process stopped working". The next time I made a call I got a white screen (the call went through fine), and then when I went to hang up it said "activity phone (or soemthing like it) stopped working, do you want to close the program".

Any thoughts? I'll try to get a screen shot next time it happens.

ive had that a few times. also the camera wont work at times. its just a black screen and then the process stopped working message.

Ive had to reboot a few times

  3. if your imei didnt work its because some posters on slickdeals started stealing other people's credits.

one guy bragged about having 1000 in google play credits because he kept generating different imei numbers. i alerted the mods there but they dont seem to care.

this is verified because my friend went to log in his note 3 and his wifes but the site said they were already claimed

  4. This would make more logical sense, but on the other hand, many people won't be able to differentiate when they are in a Spark location or not. People would just think they are receiving the same service as someone in an active market. The more you differentiate services the more you could potentially confuse, and frustrate customers. "Why does someone else have that spinning icon and not me? I have the same phone!" would be the mindset behind why they probably will just leave it on regardless of market.

    I hope that made sense.

How would you not notice a difference? The speeds in a Spark location should blow away a LTE location.

  5. I think they've seen their worst days now and are gearing up for a 2014 turn around. I'd say Q2 2014 is whe that'll happen.

I think the issue is that HTC has already gone on record saying that they're focusing on low and mid range phones. I think they're going for bulk sales with this new approach. Hopefully they bring out a HTC one successor, but if the HTC Max (it's not top of the line and you can argue this but even HTC admitted it)  is an indication then who knows what to think.

  6. While I don't agree with the "trolls" posting just to bash Sprint, I certainly understand the frustration that might lead them to it.

If you're in an area that gets great LTE speeds, then you would see it as being baseless but there's countless Sprint customers that are hanging on in HOPES of what will happen.

I have been with Sprint for years and continue to hold hope that this will be a great network and the only one truly offering unlimited. As it is, I currently get 24Mbps LTE a block from my house yet need an Airvana at home.

At work, I get .20-.35 speeds which is frustrating, but I'm clinging onto my plan because of what the future holds.

The folks that are bashing Sprint probably came on with the OG Evo or the Iphone and expected similar speeds or coverage to whatever it is they left from. My cousin had 4 lines on Verizon with unlimited plans. When he had to pay out of pocket to upgrade for 4 iphones, he said screw it and came to Sprint. He gets great coverage in LA on his primary line, but the rest of his family have useless data in the Riverside area. He plans to keep his line and cancel all the others when their contracts are up..so I certainly understand the frustration that some may feel.

  7. Corp has 1X and EVDO roaming

    Individual has 1X romaing

I was having poor speeds on 55016 so I went to 54016 and it seems better. I'm not getting a "roaming" notice though so is there a difference between the two in how "crowded" they are? sorry for these newb questions.

  8. Is there a difference between 55016 and 54016? One is corporate liable and the other is individual liable?

Would Sprint see that I used the corporate one, and if they did does that present a problem since I'm not actually roaming?

    Thanks

  9. It was either that or the current BlackBerry at the time, but it was out of stock and T-Mobile wanted to charge a higher monthly rate for it and being in school, I didn't want to sink my food and gas money into a BlackBerry. I actually sold my Wing on Craigslist and made profit and my manager gave me his old Nokia flip phone while he switched to AT&T to get the first iPhone when it came out.

The concept of handwriting notes seems cool, but I wonder if it works as well as Samsung makes it out to be, then why doesn't anyone else attempt to release their own version of the S pen?

They also improved the software behind it. Yesterday, I needed to write down a new number and input it in my contacts. Instead of having to go into my contacts and various menus to add and save their info I just pulled out my s pen and wrote their info down. This information can then be sent to your contacts list.

  10. Overall, I think this is going to be a great phone. The One is a gorgeous design. The sound from the speakers is incredible for such a small device. The screen is fantastic. Even Sense makes sense (corny enough?) as a skin. The issues I had that made me skip the regular One were inability to turn off blink feed and lack of tri-band. HTC has addressed both of those issues. If it is too big for you, don't buy it. Not everyone is suited for a Hummer or Excursion, but it fits certain tastes. I hear the battery life is ridiculous on this thing and in a pinch, you can club someone with it like a maglite for self defense. A Snapdragon 600 doesn't really matter, honestly. If it feels too dated in the next year, Sprint has an early upgrade program (actually two) for you.

" it's hard to find much good to say about the HTC One Max's design. The One's singular, expertly crafted block of anodized aluminum has been replaced by an undignified white polycarbonate band that keeps the aluminum back and front sides of the phone joined together -- kind of like elastic holding up saggy underwear. The result is even less One-like than the One Mini, which also has a white band but wears it better due to the fact it has a neater, non-removable back."

It's not like a blown up One, it's like a blown up One Mini.

  11. I must be the only weirdo who thinks split screen isnt very useful. I just don't use it. I switch back and forth between apps using the Home long press feature. And that works for me.

Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk

I use it when I'm writing reports or presentations for work. I can have a browser open to research or find the necessary pictures, text, etc.

I can see how it wouldnt be use that often by the average consumer though.

  12. From phonescoop:

"One thing that's a bit disappointing is the lack of multitasking. Even Samsung's 5-inch Galaxy S4 can operate in split-screen mode and run two apps at once. Why can't the One max? There are no cool or innovative multitasking tools that take advantage of the expanded real estate and that's a shame. If ever there was a device begging for a split-screen mode, it is the max.

It terms of performance, I never found the max's processor gasping for breath. The max has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, with each core clocked at 1.7GHz. The processor is paired with 2GB of RAM. The Snapdragon 600 didn't have any trouble conquering task after task. I ran it through a battery of multitasking tests and it passed with flying colors. If you're worried that the max doesn't have a Snapdragon 800 under the hood, don't be. The max went toe-to-toe with the One, Note 3, and other phones without blinking. "

The 600 doesn't seem to be the problem, at least currently (although things may change in the next few months). The problem is that HTC didn't really think of anything that takes advantage of the additional screen size other than having more viewing space.

  13. Ever since the ICS update, my battery life has been a joke. I get maybe 3-4 hours of standby time and about 1 1/2 hours of moderate browsing time until it shuts completely off on me. My 3G has been strong but my 4G has actually gotten worse and either times out when it connects or just doesn't connect despite knowing I used to connect before in areas. When I got this phone, I was pulling 12-16 mbps on 4G at home. Now, it is literally slower than my 3G connection.

I wonder if it was an ICS issue for that generation of phones. The Epic Touch (S2) had the same issues. People who didn't update to ICS from GB were fine. I sold my S2 right after the update because battery life was so bad.

  14. The fact that this phone is a triband is a huge plus for me, but i'm always concerned about the reception. After getting burned by the evo lte I'll wait until I read on some user experiences on voice and data reception. The fact that there is an antenna visible in photos on the inside cover doesn't sit well with me either...

I'm worried about the actual reception as well. This was a huge problem on the HTC EVO LTE.

I'd also be wary about the charging port. My OG Evo and my brother's both lasted about 20 months before the charging port failure. When I researched it, it seemed to be a common HTC problem dating back to the Verizon Thunderbolt.

  15. I'm ready curious about the "fits in my front jeans pocket."

The note feels it would be awkward if it was any bigger in some of my jeans (regular cut, nothing skinny or anything like that). I don't even use a case on the Note because then I need to put it in my back pocket.

I could see the top of the Max peeking out over certain pockets if it's in the front pockets.
