  1. i don't think there is anything to fix. you can get to the hidden menu with the dialer code i posted, but the screen doesn't appear to exist on the flex to be able to change to LTE only mode.

I thought someone was able to get to the LTE settings on the LG Flex through this menu? Oh well my mistake.

i checked through all of them and didn't find anything to set LTE only mode.

Did you ever get this fixed? I am also trying to get in the hidden menu with no luck, although I thought I did yesterday...

  3. Ok, does anyone want an otterbox case for flex, cause this thing is just too damn big!

Are there any other holsters for this that are more reasonable sized?

  4. Well I for sure like the screen better on the G2. The Flex is not bad, its just - different. I'm sure I'm just sensitive to the OLED vs IPS technology.

By the way, how do I set the LTE preferences on the Flex?

  5. Check out your router, my G2 is golden and at 150Mbps connection, can't be mad about that. What are you downloading?

I'm just doing simple stuff like updating apps like Chrome and LinkedIn

  6. I'm going to be doing a lot of bouncing around on these forums because although the Lg Flex seems to have a great radio, the LG G2 WiFi performance sucks. It just for no reason at all just stops downloading... Oh well, LG Flex FTW!!!

  7. Ok, I feel like I just got punked! Look at the damn size of this thing!!!

    From left to right:

    The LG Optimus G

    The LG G2

    The LG Flex

    The Samsung Tab 3

and for reference another Optimus G turned sideways so you can see how rediculusly wide the LG Flex is in the OtterBox case!!

  8. i have the tablet and the flex, and for the tablet only being 1" bigger on the screen it is way bigger overall than the flex! the jump from my evo 4g LTE to the flex wasn't near as big as the flex to the galaxy tab 3 7" tablet. if you don't need any sprint network data on the tablet you can change to the $5/mo 25meg plan online when signing into your account :)

I will blink at that thing and use 50 MB, LOL!! So I better keep it where it is for at least the first month to see how it goes. It's primarily for my wife, since I have a Sony Vaio Duo 11 tablet/laptop hybrid.

  9. Well, 14 days and 30 bucks are all that it'll take to put her into G2. Size might be an issue and the unique shape but definitely let us know how that works out.

Yeah, while she was still at the store, I told her to get the G2. She is much happier with that. We also picked up a free Samsung Tablet for $15/mo and she said the Flex and the tablet were damn near the same size! Hell, after I get my hands on it, I may be swapping out for a G2 also LOL!!!

  10. Ok, my wife broke her OG, and even though we had insurance on her phone, they wanted $150 to replace her phone! So here I am, as I just bought 2 LG Flex phones!!! :rasp:

My OG has just went dead as my wife purchased both phones while i am at work. We may not keep her's as she a little petite something so she may get an LG G2.

  11. Can you set this phone so that band 25 is secondary and band 26 is primary? I have a friend in the Dallas Fort Worth area who is getting horrible speeds with her Mega and I'm wondering if there is any configuration that would help her. She can only pull down 1.1Mbps and she has horrible signal strength too. So I was hoping she could get access to 800LTE (DFW is a Sprint Spark City).

  12. That's great news Terrell! Now that my area is LTE live, any temptation for leaving Sprint has gone bye bye.

And with 29 hours talk time, this is a strong contender in my search for a Spark device!

  13. I'm not AJ, but Sprint can use ESMR in the IBEZ areas as long as either they ensure there's no emissions into Canada exceeding around 120 dBm RSSI (something like 135-140 dBm RSRP) or they have permission from the incumbent spectrum holders in the other country. So either they've worked things out with Telus Mike or they've determined there's no way excessive emissions are reaching Canada.

Thanks for the reply, and this is great news!

  14. Calm down.  Topical discussion will return.  We have just hit a periodic lull.  Now, do you need to be driven to see your psychoanalyst?

    AJ

It always goes off every now and then into the weeds, but it is highly entertaining!

Question AJ, with all the recent NV updates in the Cleveland market that are clearly in the IBEZ zone, how is this possible? I mean, I'm surely not complaining but I was for sure we wouldn't get any 800Mhz love.

  15. What I don't understand us they gave columbiana and Salem,oh with lte now showing on the coverage map but they don't get the Youngstown area up and running where there are a lot more people then where they have launched in those other 2 cities... Sprint screws it up again IMO...

And those are also the only 2 markets in the whole state oh ohio to show coverage on sprints coverage maps... Unreal

I live in Youngstown and feel the same way! WiMax blues all over again. But, there is some good news. I was on my way to work today (in Cleveland) and Signal Check picked up LTE on my Optimus G on I-80 about 7 miles south east of exit 187! that is the middle of absolutely nowhere! So hopefully, the LTE expansion is going much faster than they announce.

  16. ... All Sprint Devices were showing either Service Option 73, or EVRC-NW (the LG OG showed EVRC-NW). All calls were on PCS, connected to a 3G NV site, except for the landline (obviously). ...

So are you saying that the LG Optimus G can do HD-Voice? That is the very first time i have heard someone confirm HD-Voice on this handset for sprint! :) How do I pull up the engineering screen on the Optimus G?

  17.

Then, any idea what devices support that, specifically? Any specs? Anywhere I can dig in the engineering screens of our demo phones to see?

I called Sprint about this issue specifically, as I wanted to know which phones supported the proper codec, (which no other network carrier supports - I see a pattern here Sprint  ). They informed me that only the original Evo LTE and the HTC One support HD Voice, and there have to be one of these phones on both ends.

Not one of the Sprint Spark devices announced has HD Voice support. Maybe the software upgrade for Spark support will have a few more goodies.
