You have to keep pestering them about it. When you get off the phone with them and you try to see if it's unlocked and it is not, then call them again. It took me about 2 weeks to get it done on my 5S.

Did you always get the "this device is unlocked already" and then you tested with T-Mo or something and it said it was locked? I've called 5 times already.

From my understanding its now law to unlock phones for domestic and international if the phone meets certain equipments

It does not appear so on my iPhone 6+. I have been toying with it and no luck on enabling WiFi calling.

Hey guys I have a Sprint iPhone 5 and Sprint says they have unlocked it. If I place a T-Mo or AT&T sim in it, it still tells me it is locked. Any ideas?

Was it the 5 gig for 5 months for $10 deal? Even as a Sprint fanboy, that's hard to pass up. But I am curious if Sprint has daily plans now.

It is and I also have great coverage in my area so I had to go with it.

I picked mine up in store. 64gig gold. I hooked it up to T-Mobile tho. Sorry Sprint.

anyone have the new iPhone 6 or 6 Plus in Orange County, CA? I'm interested to hear if the coverage is better with the 2.5ghz frequency.

I'm on band 41 a lot and its for sure faster. As for LTE coverage its the same.

Remember the good ole days of knowing when a person had a car phone based off of the antenna stuck to the window?  Seems like just yesterday everyone had one.  Later they progressed to into the fins on the roof if you bought the manufacturers branded/built in phone.

 

The questions:  Did those exterior antennas really provide better reception?  Did these car manufacturers branded phones that were detachable really make use of the shark fin antenna or just the one on the phone?  Is it even possible for modern phones to make use of an exterior antenna on a vehicle since they have so many?  If they do provide better reception should car manufacturers find a way to connect to the phone and build in all the antennas into the vehicle?  Is a modern connected car antenna more powerful than a phones?

 

I realize the connected car exists now (Audi A8 to name one).  Would a dedicated phone charging port that connects to the cars more powerful antennas would be handy.

I can only imagine any aerial antenna is better than the built in one. back in 1999-2003 I installed a ton of car phones and car kits. Always used glass mounts and patch antennas and saw a couple bar difference. Now if I put in a 3 watt booster then it was money.

It is a wait and see game for shipping. I got my order through in about an hour and 45 minutes after order time started.. Email conformations says UP TO three weeks to ship the phone. That's better then the 4-6 weeks times being posted now. I guess if they start send shipping notices by Wednesday then you know you got in early,

Mine says the same and what I am reading is, Sprint has no idea how many or when they are getting phones. Looks like only Apple stores will have the 6+ on launch and well that really puts a WTF in the air. Maybe like with the 5 I will get a phones shipped email on launch day and have it same day.

Will this iPhone 6 not allow WiFi calling just yet? Yesterday I saw them list all the carriers but Sprint for WiFi calling. Maybe I am missing something.

So before this thread goes dead how is everyone's service going in the OC? They are doing another 2.5 upgrade on a sprint tower in Newport Upper Bay. It's the tower build into the cross on a church. Good to see all the 2.5 upgrades happening.

Is it broadcasting yet? If so, did you get a speedtest?

Negative. They are still working on it. Plus I have a iPhone but I do have a Zing I can test it with.

NV panels replacements  in a LTE accepted site?

Yes its LTE accepted. It was upgraded a year ago and LTE turned on a month ago but now they have new panel siting on the ground to go up. Guys said its 2.5 add on. I'll go take some pics.

Has anyone noticed any new B41 launches in the OC? Without B26 in the near future, my excitement comes through this band to help clear the capacity issues.

I work 20 feet from a tower in Irvine and it is a Sprint only tower with 1900 and they are doing the 2.5 upgrade right now. Talked to them yesterday and saw them again today. They had to replace the panels for some reason.

Yeah looks like it. I work 20 feet from a tower at one of the Sprint data centers and it still doesn't have LTE. It's upgraded but for some reason they can't seem to get the backhaul done on their own property. Blows my mind.

I'm kinda surprised more gyms don't have WiFi, especially with mobile devices becoming more and more profound.

Cost to damn much and they would just raise the price on membership prices again. Look how much a 24hr pass is a month. Add an IT dept that has the brains to add WiFi and all the APs need not to mention all the bandwidth people would suck out of them but cross your fingers cause I have been waiting for that day to come.
