  1. Just make sure I don't have any Jameson, boy-o.
  2. And unless you have your phone set to LTE Only, you likely won't except for a few places in town. The 4G is so thready in most of the city, 3G is clearly stronger and the phone defaults to it. While Sensorly might show a large part of New Orleans covered by 4G, it's a little misleading when you have to be LTE exclusive to get that. I *can* get 4G at my desk, on occasion but it almost never switches to 4G on its own.
  3. Hopefully the spotty data we've been seeing is a symptom of the unofficial nature of the rollout, and that it will be regularized by the time they make it official. I hope. Oh, Jebus, I hope. That said, as long as I get a good signal in DC, it's consistently 20+ Mbps down, and that was before the official launch.
  4. This only confirms my theory that Sprint monitors this forum and likes to screw with us.
  5. Some major helicopter weird going on Sensorly.
  6. I took a little drive around uptown tonight. I am a Sensorly addict.
  7. Does it require anything other than downloading the file and putting it into the proper directory? I'm presently stock OG.
  8. Eatel used to be THE Sprint affiliate in the Gonzo/BTR market. I worked retail sales for them back when I was in college, and Sprint had zero say in the day-to-day of the business. It wasn't until shortly after I left that Sprint took over (at least the branding). Back then, we actually sold dual band PCS/Analog phones. Crazy.
  9. Word on the internets is that Sprint is now slowly pushing the 4.1 update to the OGs. We'll see, I've been waiting for it since it was due for release in Q4 2012. I'm still contemplating rooting it and putting a 4.2 rom on it. Other than that, it's a crazy fast phone with a great screen, and the battery is surprisingly robust. I contemplated a last minute audible to the Note 2, but the practicality of the large size ended up scaring me away.
  10. Hey, the LG Optimus G might even have Jelly Bean by April!
  11. FYI, nothing in Gonzales by I-10 as of last night.
  12. While stopped at the light. It's an LTE miracle!
  13. As promised, the photos. First, the photos of the tower: Next, LTE Engineering screen captures from: Poydras and Loyola - Note the serving cell! Napoleon and Freret Dufossat and Tchoup Tchoup by the Winn Dixie All measurements were made at ground level in my car. If the photos are too fuzzy, yell at LG for putting a crap 13MP camera in their flagship phone. I never was able to get a decent speed test on 65. I was, however, able to pick up a -125 signal from 65 at Washington and Jeff Davis.
  14. FYI, that dark purple on Claiborne near Napoleon is pollution. I'm getting about - 115 on 65 a few blocks north and on the second floor.
  15. And 403 by the time you hit the Winn Dixie. When I was going up to Poydras, I alternated between 59 and 65. 65 down Napoleon, and then again back up Jefferson. I can't figure out how to upload photos from my phone. I hope to get to a real computer tonight. Got a shot of the tower and screens of cell ID and power.
  16. Found it. Dufossat and Tchoup. Pictures to follow later. 65 that is. Sensory plot uploading.
  17. If it is, it should show up in Broadmoor tonight, and certainly would have shown up for mkenny as he would have had to drive right past it...unless there's a signal acquisition issue with his LTEvo.
  18. I'll be driving from the FQ, up Poydras, to Broadmoor after work a-mapping. So, at least I'll be able to get the entire length of Poydras. I hope to have something to add, especially from home!
  19. That you mapped anything, and that you did it without polluting the maps, is great. Thanks for the contribution!
  20. It also seems to be a lot of work getting up LTE sites in the sticks. It is slightly irksome that one can get LTE almost in Folsom, but not in the French Quarter, CBD, or Uptown.
  21. I'm going into default LTE Only/Sensorly when I drive around town now, just in case that mythic Broadmoor tower ever kicks on.
  22. Looks like we're starting to see the sites coming up a little bit faster now. Perhaps the rain delays pushed back the Superbowl LTE extravaganza by a couple weeks?
  23. I just got back from walking around (and Sensorly mapping, of course) the NFL Fan Experience in Woldenberg. Despite all of our hopes that the network would be turned on (more) for the Super Bowl, I got the same coverage as I was getting last week. I'll map my trip home up Canal on the streetcar to see if any of that has improved. FYI, don't try driving down here. I swear I saw Lord Hummungus.
  24. I noticed some new medium purple at the 10-610 merge by City Park. It appears to be on ground level I-10. There's also a very light three dot long signal at Canal and Navarre.
  25. "Other reasons" than Sensorly mapping? I don't get it.
