  1. I disagree. If you don't want to pay for a subscription then Sony offers a lot more. On the flip side if you are ok with paying for a subscription then the Xbox comes out on top, particularly if you are a big NFL fan. I don't think content will be an issue. The issue will be if there is a charge and what people are willing to pay. It remains to be seen if the PS move system will have the same functionality as the MS Kinect. In either case it seems as if both have seen big upgrades.

also PS+ is now required for online gaming on PS4.
  2. I have the day 1 XBOX 180 pre ordered and the PS4 launch as well. Ill probably cancel the playstation between now and then. I want the Xbox for the games. Forza, titanfall and dead rising 3. Destiny for sure, but that's either.

So nothing on PS4 I want yet that I can't get on the XBOX 180. Plus I always love the Xbox controllers ever since the duke/ fatty on the OG XBOX.

  3. Is there any place that goes into detail on EV-DV? I can't find anything since it was killed off so long ago.

    yes, barely.

Part of a family of cdma2000 1x digital wireless standards. 1xEV-DV is a "3G" standard.

EV-DV stands for "EVolution, Data and Voice". It addresses both data and voice, unlike 1xEV-DO, which only addresses data natively.

1xEV-DV development is currently stalled, having been mostly superseded (before it was even launched) by 1xEV-DO Revision A + VoIP technology.

1xEV-DV combines the high-speed HDR technology from 1xEV-DO with the widely-deployed 1xRTT standard. It integrates seamlessly with 1xRTT, providing full backward-compatibility and simultaneous voice and data.

There are two versions of 1xEV-DV: "Revision C" and "Revision D".

Revision C provides high speeds only for the forward link, meaning only "download" speeds are faster. The reverse link ("upload") is the exact same as the existing 1xRTT standard.

Revision D provides fast data speeds in both directions, making it ideal for applications such as video conferencing and uploading large files (such as photos from megapixel camera phones). Revision D also integrates MEID natively.

  5. quick question, sprint currently has the wrong sim card number for my iphone5. i have had no issues except for the fact that when in an LTE zone i cant connect, i dont get any error or problems it just doesnt connect. im going to goto sprint.com/manage my device/change sim card.. question is should my phone be on or off when i do this, does it matter?

    tks

shouldnt matter. Might have to do a restart though.

  6. Instead of getting insurance you pay for every month on an iPhone, you should get AppleCare + for 99$ which covers accidental physical and liquid damage. Pay 50 bucks to have the phone replaced instead of 200. You can do this twice even. Covers the phone for two years. Even if you resell it.

  7. Can some of or all or the existing LTE capable Sprint phones use LTE-A or does this also require hardware change? If this does require new hardware, do you guys think the new Tri-band LTE phones will be LTE-A capable? I know a lot of this is total speculation, but hopefully maybe somebody has some inside info on the matter. Sent from my Sprint iPhone 5, not the old one (using Tapatalk 2).

certain things require new hardware but others are enhancements to the network that should marginally help out everyone. At least that's what I'd imagine given the info we have.

  8. AT&T might not be ideal, but Sprint isn't deploying 10x10 ANYWHERE for LTE. the G-block is getting 5x5, and 800Mhz is getting 5x5. It's only if they can get approval to buy Clearwire from the rest of the bitchy shareholders that they'll have a nice position in pretty high frequencies for something to the tune of 20Mhz worth of TDD-LTE.

So while AT&T only has 10Mhz in some places, Sprint has it in zero, with plans for zero more. Unless they get to buy Clearwire. Tomorrow.

    -----

Looks like Sprint has some now huh? Clearwire deal went through 3 weeks ago

yes, which was far from certain when I wrote that back in May.

  9. if you want to get an idea of the disparity look at this

US Cellular in Nebraska (checkered is roaming, uncheckered is native)  :D

    [uS Cellular]

Verizon in Nebraska (mostly native I think)  :tu:

    [Verizon]

AT&T Native coverage in Nebraska

    [AT&T]

Just for fun, I had a look at Sprint's woeful Nebraska coverage.  Maybe marginally better than AT&T... but I'm not sure how.
