  1. Heh, I was going to come in here and post that two days ago I was on 270 in Florissant and my 4G lit up, but you guys are already all over it! I was so excited when it happened! My boyfriend was with me and his Galaxy S3 didn't show 4G, but then I looked into his settings and LTE was turned off. Silly boy. I didn't do any speed tests or anything, as I was streaming music from Amazon MP3 on my phone at the time, but since it appears that site is live, I'll have to check into it. Interestingly, however, I didn't have to toggle airplane mode or anything like that. It just picked up 4G all on it's own. I thought in order for the phone to go from 3G to 4G you had to toggle airplane mode or disable/enable mobile network.
  2. Wait so by posting a complaint about Sprint I am breaking some sort of rule? I'm sorry, but in reading this rule, I do not see how my post violates it. Yes, I was complaining about Sprint, however I was sharing frustration with another poster, thus keeping it relevant to the conversation. My post was not intended to be a 'rant', just meant to be a response to the post I quoted. I know this isn't the sprint customer service page. Besides, they have already heard an ear full from me, which yielded no result. That being said, I suppose I'll keep future complaints about Sprint to myself. I obviously don't post on here often anyway... I just come here to check on the progress of the LTE rollout in St. Louis. Sorry if my post came off more rant-ish than I intended. I'm just frustrated with Sprint. If the deployment process is going to be faster than what I'm thinking, thats great. Honestly, though, I think mike7n2004 was right. Sprint's staff really has no idea what to expect when it comes to rollout dates, as evidenced by people such as him and myself that were expecting it to have happened already. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the new towers in St. Louis that have gone up (such as the one at Lumiere) just 3G towers? Have they started work on ANY LTE sites in the St. Louis area yet? I know Joplin is in progress as we speak, but work in Joplin now doesn't necessarily mean work in St. Louis will be starting as quickly as we would hope. There's a lot to do in Joplin, and it may be a while before they can start moving workers and resources toward St. Louis. Dkoellerwx, I am afraid I do not share your optimism about St. Louis' LTE rollout. I'm sorry to say it, but based on how slow it's been thus far, and based on how long it takes from the time Sprint starts working on the first site until LTE starts hitting people's phones, I don't think the end of Spring is a good projection for St. Louis. I honestly expect 2014 to be when my phone shows an LTE logo in the notification bar, which is why I'm upset. Fall 2013 at the earliest. I really hope that I'm wrong about this. And if anyone has any updates about LTE sites in the St. Louis area that proves me wrong, please tell me. I welcome it.
  3. I definitely share your frustration here. I was promised LTE by the end of the year (2012) by a Sprint rep when I renewed my contract in September. Had I known it would be another full year I would have ported my number to another carrier. It sucks having this amazing phone and being restricted by a slow network. Yeah WiFi helps but I can't always be connected to WiFi. I just wish Sprint would have been more honest with us as customers about their LTE deployment. At least they should have made this information accessible to their staff so they weren't making false promises. And now I'm stuck in a contract that will be at least half over by the time LTE service is turned on. Thanks for the honest salesmanship Sprint.
  4. I'm not entirely sure... yeah the building I'm in has visible line of sight to the Lumiere, but I'm actually closer to the stadium, so its hard to say if the new site is responsible for my 3G boost or not. Still, its nice to get data inside the garage.
  5. Well that explains it! I can see the Lumiere from my office building. Although this is fantastic, I would rather it be a 4G tower
  6. Did somebody mention something about a new or upgraded 3G tower in downtown STL? I think I read something about that. Today when I pulled into work by the Macy's building my speeds were off the chain! I was using amazon MP3 and my songs were loading super fast. And that's INSIDE a parking garage. Normally I don't even get 3G inside the garage.
  7. My contract was up in September, and rather than switch carriers, I renewed and got an EVO 4G LTE, also added some new lines to my account, ported from AT&T. Was promised by the rep that we would have LTE in January... that's not going to happen is it? I live in St. Charles, and work in downtown St. Louis. Interestingly enough, I get better data speeds in St. Charles. Driving home, the speeds pick up just after I pass the airport. Also I have customers on the east side... and data connectivity in IL is dismal. Even regular cell signal is bad over there... at my parents house in Granite City I have to go outside to make a call. And they live in a single story 3 bedroom house.
