Just for the record. I am purely speculating. I also feel the softbank merger could slow the upgrade. I'm sure there is a lot of paperwork and reorganization to be done. That speculation of mine comes from the old sprint nextel merger.
Make no mistake, I'm still a sprint customer. And I will continue to be a customer as long as the high value stays. Voice coverage with Sprint is top notch, comparable with any other vendor. Their data is horrible, and I think it will be for a long time. But I really do hope I'm wrong.
I don't think by DEC 2013. Look at how many sites are waiting for backhaul. And also how many are waiting for backhaul AND construction. Probably more like DEC 2014
I really think that something is wrong. That's why we have seen all the strange behavior lately. And that's also why all these towers are upgraded hardware-wise, but no speed increases data-wise.
I just hope they figure something out soon.
I am calm. What I said is that I tried T-Mobile but there was zero data when I was out of town. Spring is crazy slow, but at least I have some connection when I'm out in a rural area. I have a feeling like we are months and months away from any kind of lte. I've just learned to deal with it.....
I'm with you. T-Mobile looks good. I used them for a 30 day trial. The speeds were VERY fast
I just couldn't handle having zero data when visiting a rural area. Sprint needs to do something quick. It may already be too late for them.
I'll map the crap out of it. I'm in the Westerville area so just let me know if y'all see anything. I know that my 3g is pretty fast lately, maybe something is in the works?
Hey guys, just wanted to post up as well. I'm here in Columbus (Westerville) Ohio and have experienced TERRIBLE data as well. I've just recently switched from my old WiMax Epic4g to a Galaxy Note II.
It's shocking how poorly the 3g network performs now. Back when I had my Treo I used to get 1Mbps all day long. Now, I'm lucky if I can break 100Kbps. I guess I wasn't aware since I was using the WiMax 4g before.
I will keep my eyes on this thread as well to see if there are any updates. Maybe Sprint should change the name of my plan from "Unlimited Data" to "Unuseable Data"!
