It's a beta program offered through the Samsung Members app. If it's still available you will see a banner offering a signup on the opening page of the app. It's beta,so not everything is perfect and Google pay won't work.

The official version is supposed to be available in a few weeks.

Official won't be for a few months I expect as beta just launched a week ago. Also when you are accepted nothing happens. You need to go to manually check for updates and you will get the beta software.

I was able to use maps while on a call driving home so for sure volte is working!

Also, battery life seems to be very significantly improved. Not sure if this is just this early beta or not, but it's improved at least 50 percent. Other users are reporting same in beta app.

I don't have a voice networks setting there. Mobile networks is the closest, but no VOLTE option there. Wifi calling is even more hidden, it's in the phone app settings.

Just started playing around with my unlocked S10. I have both VOLTE and Wifi calling. Interesting.

Can you advise where the setting is to turn that on and off?

  4. Reports on sammobile that vz is getting the pie update now for s9. You would think unlocked would be sooner, not dead last to receive any updates. It is an odd business model where buying directly from the manufacturer is the way to get the slowest support.

  5. Unlocked s9+ supports wifi calling. You have to enable it on sprint.com first and then enable it on your phone.

I'm just curious does anyone else have an unlocked s9 and is still on November 1 security patch? Or are all the Dec 1 patch updates for those in the beta program?

  6. I don't really use google maps offline, since the second I hang up the call it updates instantly. I just have to keep calls short or do the hang up, call back game. Traffic can be so weird in LA. One example, driving from airport at 1 am, there was an accident on a major freeway closing all lanes. If I didn't have maps on it would never have told me to take an earlier exit to avoid a 20 minute parking lot jam. That being said I wasn't on the phone, but this kind of thing happens in large cities all the time. Just knowing the city well won't help at all.

  7. I am eagerly waiting for VoLTE on my unlocked S9. It has been incredible frustrating especially here in LA. Google maps is needed to get around unforeseen traffic problems, but will not update if I am on a call. Since I am usually chatting on the phone while driving longer distances, it would be a huge help! Given that Android P seems to be moving through beta well, hopefully it is implemented in the next month or so! If that comes with VoLTE enabled I will be a happy camper.

Side-note I have been with Sprint since 2003 or so. I don't really understand all the concerns with network. It's honestly oddly exciting to keep getting updates instead of having everything just available. Am I the only one who feels this way?
